About this listing

The space

The Rancho is located at the edge of the famous Carara National Park overlooking the lush forests that Costa Rica has to offer and the blue waters of the Pacific Ocean. We are located approximately one hour from the Juan Santamaria International Airport in San Jose and 30 minutes from Jaco Beach.
The accommodations offer the perfect combination of secluded natural beauty and contemporary domestic comforts. There is comfortable lodging for up to 4 people offering breathtaking views as you enjoy your breakfast on the patio or take a dip in the private pool.
Get close to nature with the many adventures Costa Rica has to offer. Glide over the canopy of the rainforest on your zip-line tour, golf, horseback riding, ATV tours or play in the water as you kayak, snorkel or experience the excellent surfing and beautiful waterfalls. You name it; it’s here for your taking.

The Rancho
This comfortable casita is called Rancho because of its typical Costa Rican style of construction. The Rancho is nestled at the edge of the forest. The swimming pool is at your doorstep set in a spacious patio and is surrounded by lush, tropical gardens. It offers two queen-size beds and a private bathroom. Continental breakfast is included with your stay.
There is a fridge and a cooking plate to prepare snacks or meals. A ''pulperia'' (small supermarket) is within walking distance. You can also enjoy meals all day in the restaurants close to the village of Tarcoles just a short drive away from Capulin.

Carara National Park marks the transition between the Amazonian and Mesoamerican ecosystems (dry and wet climate zones).
One of Costa Rica's most popular national parks, the reserve includes primary and secondary rainforests, a lagoon and marshlands.
It is home to more than 400 birds species and a breeding site for at least 40 pairs of Scarlet Macaws.

Beautifully scenic spot perfect for a relaxing chilled out time in Costa Rica. Very basically furnished (there is a BBQ if you want to cook), so be prepared to head in to Jaco for something to eat. The local restaurants shut approx 1700 so be sure to bring some supplies if arriving close to that time! Lovely place with amazing breakfast views!

This place is a hidden gem. We picked it based on the location and the reviews. It is a beautiful setting, the landscaping is lush, we saw Macaws, monkeys, crocodiles. The breakfast was amazing, just like the reviews said. A really nice mix of modern convenience with Costa Rican jungle. Lastly, Claudine could not have been more gracious. We would definitely stay here again when visiting this area.

Claudine is the most gracious host! Her crepes are delicious. The property is beautifully and thoughtfully designed. My stay was very relaxing and I also had 2 adventures that Claudine booked for me, a crocodile tour and zip lining! Both places were welcoming, professional, and fun! I saw macaws each morning from the main house deck during breakfast. Jaco Beach is a short drive away. I will stay at Rancho Capulin again when I return to Costa Rica! Thank you Claudine!

This place is a good location if you want to see this part of Costa Rica. The room was comfortable, open air with screens, and ceiling fans. At night depending on the season, the animals can be very loud. I would suggest earplugs, but this is true about any accommodation in costa rica without glass (which is pretty standard). It's part of the charm in a way. Claudine was very nice and helpful. She recommended a waterfall hike that was our highlight while we were in this area. Breakfast has a beautiful view.

If you're looking for an oasis away from the hustle and bustle of downtown Jaco, this is your place! We loved the secluded area that was nature filled and it was pretty crazy to hear all the sounds of the jungle at night. The pool was essential! It was so nice to wake up in the morning and jump in with it being so hot and humid. Most importantly, Claudine is a great host! She made us breakfast every morning and even provided us with cooking utensils for our groceries since we didn't want to go out every night. We even arrived early and she kept our bags while we ate breakfast and by the time we got back, we were able to check in. :) Would definitely recommended to my friends and family!!

This location is a bit of a drive from Jaco so a little isolated but gives a nice nature feel. Lots of animals throughout the night too so may be tough if you're a light sleeper but we enjoyed it! Also this is pretty much the pool house but still a very nice stay. Views and home are beautiful, and wish I could've stayed an extra night to enjoy breakfast!
