The accommodations offer the perfect combination of secluded natural beauty and contemporary domestic comforts. There is comfortable lodging for up to 4 people offering breathtaking views as you enjoy your breakfast on the patio or take a dip in the private pool.
Get close to nature with the many adventures Costa Rica has to offer. Glide over the canopy of the rainforest on your zip-line tour, golf, horseback riding, ATV tours or play in the water as you kayak, snorkel or experience the excellent surfing and beautiful waterfalls. You name it; it’s here for your taking.

The Rancho
This comfortable casita is called Rancho because of its typical Costa Rican style of construction. The Rancho is nestled at the edge of the forest. The swimming pool is at your doorstep set in a spacious patio and is surrounded by lush, tropical gardens. It offers two queen-size beds and a private bathroom. Continental breakfast is included with your stay.
There is a fridge and a cooking plate to prepare snacks or meals. A ''pulperia'' (small supermarket) is within walking distance. You can also enjoy meals all day in the restaurants close to the village of Tarcoles just a short drive away from Capulin.

Carara National Park marks the transition between the Amazonian and Mesoamerican ecosystems (dry and wet climate zones).
One of Costa Rica's most popular national parks, the reserve includes primary and secondary rainforests, a lagoon and marshlands.
It is home to more than 400 birds species and a breeding site for at least 40 pairs of Scarlet Macaws.

  • Welcome to paradise! claudine probably serves the best crepes in all of costa rica for breakfast and has an incredible ability to choose the fruits at their best time to pick! this breakfast is served on their veranda with a beautiful view! the little casita they are renting out is very comfortable with a very nice outside area! the pool is the best choice after a long dusty expedition to parque nacional carara and the hot afternoon! you should at least stay 2 nights to enjoy the ambiente and soak up the tranquility!

  • Great location and great host. Claudine and her family were extremely friendly and open minded. With a lot of small details (home made crepes, bread, ...), they ensured that we had excellent stay. Highly recommended.

  • Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Rancho Capulin. The rancho itself is beautiful, and it's located in a quiet area with a great view near Carara National Park. Claudine served a fantastic breakfast of crepes on the terrace as we watched scarlet macaws fly overhead. She even accommodated my husband's dietary restrictions and went with us to the gas station to get a flat tire fixed. Rancho Capulin is a lovely place with a very kind and helpful host.

  • Simply elegant. We loved our stay at Rancho Capulin. It is a quiet oasis for independent travelers to get away from the tourist masses and enjoy a comfortable base from which to explore the central Pacific coast of Costa Rica. Tropical nights by the pool, wonderful breakfasts overlooking the valley, watching for the red macaws and the occasional monkey, all within convenient driving distance of all the attractions. Claudine was very helpful and adjusted her schedule to our preferences and successfully navigated Corinna's gluten-free diet preference without limiting Renou's enjoyment of home-baked bread and breakfast crépe. Yummy!!

  • It's a pity - but we only had one night at Claudine's place. Very nice and beautiful place with a beautiful pool in front. Just some minutes by car to the beach. She's a very friendly person and breakfast on hers terrace is gorgeous. Highly recommended!

  • We had a wonderful stay with Claudine and her family. She was very welcoming and the rancho is very comfortable and spacious. We enjoyed having a delicious breakfast of pancakes, fresh fruit and fresh bread at the deck at the main house. The view there is amazing! Claudine's son surfs and he took us to a great spot in the area. Here we all had a great time just surfing and relaxing over a meal. We would definetly come back!
