The space

The Rancho is located at the edge of the famous Carara National Park overlooking the lush forests that Costa Rica has to offer and the blue waters of the Pacific Ocean. We are located approximately one hour from the Juan Santamaria International Airport in San Jose and 30 minutes from Jaco Beach.
The accommodations offer the perfect combination of secluded natural beauty and contemporary domestic comforts. There is comfortable lodging for up to 4 people offering breathtaking views as you enjoy your breakfast on the patio or take a dip in the private pool.
Get close to nature with the many adventures Costa Rica has to offer. Glide over the canopy of the rainforest on your zip-line tour, golf, horseback riding, ATV tours or play in the water as you kayak, snorkel or experience the excellent surfing and beautiful waterfalls. You name it; it’s here for your taking.

The Rancho
This comfortable casita is called Rancho because of its typical Costa Rican style of construction. The Rancho is nestled at the edge of the forest. The swimming pool is at your doorstep set in a spacious patio and is surrounded by lush, tropical gardens. It offers two queen-size beds and a private bathroom. Continental breakfast is included with your stay.
There is a fridge and a cooking plate to prepare snacks or meals. A ''pulperia'' (small supermarket) is within walking distance. You can also enjoy meals all day in the restaurants close to the village of Tarcoles just a short drive away from Capulin.

Carara National Park marks the transition between the Amazonian and Mesoamerican ecosystems (dry and wet climate zones).
One of Costa Rica's most popular national parks, the reserve includes primary and secondary rainforests, a lagoon and marshlands.
It is home to more than 400 birds species and a breeding site for at least 40 pairs of Scarlet Macaws.

Rancho capulin was a wonderful end to our Costa Rican vacation. The view from the main house is amazing (you can actually spot crocodiles in the Tarcoles River!) and the pool was fabulous and relaxing. Claudine was a great host and was there to greet us when we arrived. When she found out we wanted to visit Carara park the next day, but had no car, she gave us detailed instructions on how to take the bus and even dropped us off at the bus stop the next morning after breakfast (which was amazing btw!) Overall we had a lovely stay here - Claudine was wonderful and we would be happy to stay here again if we are back in the area.

A really pleasent stay. Tidy place, clean swimming pool and very good and friendly host who ensures her guests feel very welcome. The views while enjoying your (served!) breakfast are memorable.

There are no words to describe how wonderful Claudine is and her home is truly breathtaking. She is so blessed to have a wonderful home, and anyone who books with her is so incredibly lucky as well! This place is a real gem, and our trip was all the better for staying here.

Rancho Capulin is perfectly located on a hill a few kilometers from Jaco and a great stop between the Island Nicoya and Manuel Antonio. The surroundings are very calm and the Rancho is perfect to relax. The Casita is clean and comfortable with a pool to swim and a kitchen to cook easy meals. Claudine was very kind and made us a delicious fresh breakfast with pancakes and a huge bowl of fruits. Also the communication and check in was really easy. I totally recommend the Rancho as a place to find peace and silence.

This guest house directly adjacent to Claudine's pool was perfect for a few days of relaxation. It's private and serene. The pool and home were perfect for our family of three, clean and modern. Claudine's attention to detail was much appreciated. Her breakfasts a delight to the senses. She is a very generous host. The location was easy to find and close to many good restaurants (Costa Rica style). We wanted to stay longer but had to continue on our journey - we will return!

Rancho Capulin B&B is a true gem. As soon as we arrived we regretted we had booked accommodation there only for one night! The place is surrounded by beautiful nature and there's a pool right next to the building we we're staying. The building is fresh and trendy, and has mosquito nets both in the sliding door and around the beds to keep away unwelcome guests. The bathroom is something I would have for myself at home any time – high-class equipment and materials. Claudine is the perfect host, warm-hearted and friendly. She keeps wonderful care of her guests and also offers a lovely breakfast at the deck of the main house with amazing views all the way to the river. Butterflies and birds feel at home at the garden, and we even got to see wild parrots – red aras – flying over the property and landing on the nearby trees. We can definitely recommend this place to anyone travelling in Costa Rica. Full 10 points!

I'm from Luxembourg but I lived for 20 years in France. With my husband and our youngest son we moved to Costa Rica 5 years ago.
