  • The apt is in a great location and we enjoyed eating at the local restaurants. The apt is somewhat run down but clean, great shower. The bed in the bedroom is just a box spring so a little firm. My kids said the bed in the loft was very comfortable but you need to be young to get up there. We realized mid-way thru the 1st night that the air mattress did not hold air. Phil would have replaced it but we just decided to have all of them sleep in loft instead. Phil left a lot of great info about apt, the area and getting the keys and into the apt was all easy.

  • We loved staying in this apartment. We were a group of 6 and there was plenty of room for all of us. The apartment was lovely and tidy when we arrived with plenty of bedding and towels. It was in the perfect part of town, near nice bars, restaurants, venues and shops and some of NY's famous sites. It's only two minutes from the subway and in the middle of all of the action of the Lower East Village.
Philip was easy to communicate with and gave us all the information we could possible need for our stay in the apartment. We had a late flight and were able to leave our bags and pick them up later which was really handy. Thanks Philip!

  • The apartment was great (clean, spacious, not noisy) and very well located (close to metro station and many restaurants/bars/coffeeshops). The host was very accommodating and we were able to check-in early and check-out late.
I would definitely stay there again

  • Great, artistic Manhattan experince. We were 6 people and had great time. Excellent neighborhood full of life and bars. Would stay again!

  • Phil was an excellent host. He was very flexible and didn't make a problem of the fact that we arrived so late due to heavy snowfall. Also he was so kind to provide us a new key because we had lost ours in a cab. The best thing about the apartment is the location. It is located in a very vibrant and young neighbourhood with lots of great bars and restaurants and a great subway connection. The apartment itself is rather small but was perfect for a group of four. It was very clean and neat upon arrival. The only remarks that we could think of was that the apartment wasn't really a realistic representation of the pictures that you see on the website. Mostly because it looked more spacious and fresh on the pictures. And although it was -5°C outside, when you were sleeping in the bedroom you had the feeling like you were in the Sahara. But besides that, is this a great place to stay when you're visiting NY, decent apartment and fantastic host.

  • Nice place, great location! The recommendations provided by Phil for nearby restaurants and coffee shops were very much appreciated!!

Subway stop is very close by, and you are an easy walk to Greenwich Village, Little Italy, Chinatown, and NYU.

Excellent communication by host and easy to work with. The apartment is typical for NYC...not huge, but adequate for a group of 4-5 people and the amenities provided were good. All in all, a nice option in the Lower East Side.

  • Nice apartment just wrong location. Due to stop there 3 nights but only lasted 1 due to the noise from street below with shouting and screaming till gone 4am. I relocated for the remaining 2 nights stay in NY.

    Response from Philip:

    Hi Martin!
The Lower East Side can be (email hidden)ly neighborhood, and that is a main attraction for many guests. Friday and Saturday nights, especially during the holidays, sometimes can be a little loud. However, it seems you exeperienced something of an anomoly.

I do wish you would have contacted me so I could have helped you in your situation. I am always available by phone or email for all my guests and bend over backwards to make their stay nice.

I am glad to hear you liked the apartment and hope I can host you on your next trip to NYC!

  • Great place to stay. Phil gave us all the infos and advices we needed. The location is perfect with the subway just a block away. Bars and restaurants very close from the flat. Perfect for 5 people like us since all we needed was a place to sleep and shower.

Hi There! My name is Phil and I've been living in New York City for 8 years. I love the Lower East Side and Brooklyn because it has everything you could ever want: nightlife, great food, shopping, and quick access to all subways and sightseeing. I keep a very clean and well appointed home. I'm the kind of Host that will swing by at 9am to bring you a fresh pound of coffee if you need it. :) When I'm not playing Host, I work as a freelance musician and sound engineer from a studio I own on Rivington Street. I tend to keep busy but love to find time to slow down, read a book, or just listen to music. I love travelling, and look forward to visiting India someday... If this is your first time, or millionth time, visiting NYC, you can't find a better place to stay. Feel free to send me a message and I'll respond right away. Looking forward to hosting you on your travels. Cheers! Phil
