Room in a bed and breakfast

Your own room in a home, plus access to shared spaces.
Some info has been automatically translated.
Lovely calm & quiet room with private en-suite bathroom, & comfy double bed. I offer free breakfast to help yourself. 15-20 minutes walk from the Lanes & market, 3-5 minutes to nearest pubs & shops. I'm a friendly host, able to share info about my city. I prefer to greet in person but do have a secure keybox if needed. When you enquire about booking please tell me a bit about yourself & your visit.

The space
It’s a double-sized bedroom, upstairs. It has its own bathroom off it, with a large walk-in shower, sink and toilet. There is a work desk and chair. A good-sized cupboard to store clothes and bags. A supply of bedding & towels in the room. Central heating from two radiators. Guests comment on my decor and artworks. My house is a small Edwardian terrace with two bedrooms, two living rooms, two bathrooms, and a kitchen. I have a secure garden where a bike can be kept.

Guest access
Respectful use of my downstairs rooms and the garden are welcome. My private bedroom is upstairs opposite the guest room and my bathroom is downstairs through the kitchen. You can use the kitchen for making drinks and prepping your breakfast. If you need to, do ask me if you can cook simple meals in the kitchen. If so, they should be meat free.

During your stay
I’m available if you need help but stay out of your hair

Other things to note
If you book I provide a detailed document about the house and the City. I like good communication, so please acknowledge my messages and update your phone number if travelling from abroad. I’m open to dogs visiting but please ask first and tell me more about your dog. Also, let me know if you will need a scratchcard for free parking. (I am allowed to buy only 60 per year, so I ration them E.g. if you only want it for a short part of the day, I might not be able to spare one.) There are quite steep steps up to the house and then up to the room so it’s not a very accessible house. I like to welcome you, but I do have a secure key box so you can let yourself in if need be.

Neighborhood highlights

Wodehouse Street is in the 'Silver triangle' in Norwich. Two minutes away is the river Wensum, which offers canoe & boat hire. If you keep walking along the river westward you reach the centre in 12-15 minutes, and if you follow the river Eastward you reach the train station in 20 minutes.
Five minutes walk is Magdalen Street with many antiques shops, cafes and more, leading you into the City. Ten minutes walk takes you to Mousehold Heath - an 88 hectare wood with heathland clearings and views across the city. There's also a small park called Kett's Cave just a minute away. There are cafes, corner shops and pubs dotted all around the area. There are good bus services taking you in and out of the city.
