Overall our stay at Las Brisas was good. Vanessa at the front desk was very helpful. They even upgraded our room because we had a long stay (6 days). The only reason I cannot say it was great because of the location. We would not recommend this hotel unless you have a car. We did have a misunderstanding/ lack of communication when when first got there about the taxi from the airport to the hotel. It was $100 USD for 2 people and we gave the driver the money but when we checked in at the front desk at the hotel they said we were suppose to pay at the hotel which was not related to us before hand. They handled it with the driver but it was still frustrating because I don't live misunderstandings. The hotel is located on the outskirt of Jaco (about 5 min car ride to and from Jaco). Due to not being in a major city like Jaco, Quepos, Manuel Antonio, San Jose, etc. Transportation and finding food is hard. There is a public bus stop about 10-15 min walk from the hotel. The hotel does have a shuttle but it was in the shop getting fix during our stay so it was unavailable. But this shuttle is not free there is a small fee ($4 USD) to have them take you to Jaco while the public bus take you for 320 colones (~$0.60 USD). To go to Manuel Antonio via Taxi is $70 USD (what the owners told us) while public bus is $5 USD. But when we got to the main street (10-15 min walk) we found a greyline shuttle passing through and ask them how much to take us to Manuel Antonio and they charged us only $5 USD each. We took the public bus during our stay but the downside to that is the last bus is at ~1730 and the closest place to eat near this hotel are restaurants located at Playa Hermosa which is a 20-25 min walk from the hotel and they are not cheap. They do have a pizza place that deliver but we paid 9700 colones (~18 USD) for a medium cheese pizza EXPENSIVE in my opinion verses getting a full meal (meat, rice, beans, 2 other sides) and a drink at a soda for $6 USD. In Jaco, Manuel Antonio, Quepos, San Jose you will find cheap places called Soda and other 24/7 places. Please do not misunderstand me here. The hotel is beautiful, clean and safe. The staff and Breakfast is AMAZING. But if you are on a budget and want to really explore different parts of Costa Rica and plan to rely on public transportation I would not recommend staying here for an extending period of time like we did unless you have a car. This is a great place if your just passing through (2 days MAX). It seems like "the spot" for locals. But they have cars. Overall 4 Stars.

My surf buddy and I needed a comfortable place with a/c to relax at towards the end of a long surf trip and this place provided that all. It was the off season here so things were very quiet and comfortable. Great breakfast in the morning was included in the rate with coasta coffee! Nice pool also for a quick dip and plenty of wifi to go around. Great staff to chat with.

Las Brisas Villas was a wonderful place to stay! The breakfast and coffee were delicious. They were helpful with everything and anything we needed. My husband and I thought the location was perfect. We were able to get surf lessons from Bowie's at Playa Hermosa, explore Jaco which is a five minute car ride away, and spend the day at Manuel Antonio (public bus was cheap and easy)! We had an amazing time; thanks for everything, Rachelle!

We had a lovely time! It was quite clean and not right on a main road. It allowed us to be able to feel like we had our own private home and travel around to other sites we wanted to see. The hosts were also very supportive and helped us figure out what times were best to visit crowded sites. The place was clean, calming and the food was amazing!

Las Brisas was the first stop for me and my boyfriend on our trip to Costa Rica. If you are considering traveling to the country this is a great choice for so many reasons. We flew into San Jose and were able to take the Costa Rican Public Bus to Jaco for only a few dollars. The ride was less than 2 hours and dropped us off in the center of Jaco. From there we were able to taxi to Las Brisas for around $10. Once we got to the hotel we were amazed by how they were able to create such a tropical oasis. The grounds were extremely well maintained, with beautiful flowering plants in abundance surrounding the pool/jacuzzi area. The room was similarly well maintained with towels, a tv, and AC. The complementary breakfast included was a great start to our morning stays at the hotel. There were a variety of pastries, fruits, pancakes, and french toast. If you are considering this resort as an option I would not hesitate. Although it is not directly on the beach they offer rides back and forth between Las Brisas and Playa Hermosa for free and a ride to Jaco for $8. Both me and my boyfriend liked Playa Hermosa, the beach that Las Brisas is closest to, much better than the beaches in Jaco. Playa Hermosa had breathtaking views, long black sand beaches and the warmest ocean water we had ever felt. Our favorite part was watching the show of surfers around sunset with a beer. We walked back from Playa Hermosa to Las Brisas once and it only took us a short 15 minute walk. By far, what set Las Brisas Resorrt apart from other hotels we have stayed at in the past was the amazing staff. All around we felt completely comfortable and cared for during our stay. John and Ali were working during our stay and both went out of their way on several occasions to make sure our stay was exceptional. Despite similar amenities provided at other hotels we stayed at during our trip in Costa Rica the warmth and hospitality of the staff is what set them apart from any other hotel. Even my boyfriend said, that it was almost sad to leave the resort because we felt like we had formed friendships with other guests as well as the great staff at Las Brisas. We are so appreciative for everything Las Brisas did to add to our trip to Costa Rica and can't wait to come back again!
