Food Lovers Dream in Designer House

The Space

Welcome to Portland and our wonderful home.

We are Emily, a fashion designer/artist/musician; Adam, a musician/screenprinter; Cowbear the cat, and Donut the little dog.

Our home has wonderful amenities:
Huge remodeled kitchen with concrete counter tops, 5 burner gas stove. yes, we love to cook! And have many wonderful Le Creuset cookware, nice Shun knives, dishwasher, and raw walnut counter top.

Our wonderfully big open living room is decked out with kilim rugs, leather sofa, and driftwood chandelier, and many plants, Emily's art as well as art from local artists, and artifacts from our travels.

The lush backyard has a fire pit, fruit trees, organic vegetable garden and nice spots to lay about in the sun on one of our many woven blankets, though for the season it is a bit overgrown and wild.

We have 2 rooms for rent, and your room has two nice south facing windows, woodfloors, nice closet space, and knitted boxspring cover. The room has a Queen bed. Also we just got brand new sheets, duvet covers, and new pillows!

You will share a bathroom that has a rain shower, lots of plants, and toilet and sink with our other guests if they are there, and we also use that shower sometimes, but we have our own bathroom.

There is also a toilet just off the kitchen.

The house is very well insulated, stays nice and toasty in the winter and cool in the summer.

We use all natural soaps and cleaning products, and are sensitive to strong perfumes and colognes. Please be respectful of using them in the house. We are totally into essential oils and nice smelling things, but everyones nose is different!

We are still working on our home and there are a few unfinished things, but they are all cosmetic, and nothing that takes away from the comforts and overall style of the place.

Collectively we have lived in Portland for over 25 years, and will happily share our favorite breakfast spots, bars, venues, and more with you! Maybe there is a cool BBQ, concert, or art opening while you are in town, we will let you know!

Our home is close to Alberta Street, Mississippi ave, the Sunday farmers market is 2 blocks away! There are multiple transit options within 2 blocks as well.

We are near great bars, fantastic dining, and a few great parks as well.

Pets allowed on a case by case basis.

We really look forward to having you in our home.

Happy Travels!

Emily, Adam, Cowbear, and Donut.

  • Emily and Adam were two of the most gracious hosts. They were accommodating, generous and truly made us feel like their house was a home away from home. Situated only a few blocks from Alberta, you are minutes walk to trendy shops, bars, and restaurants. Don't pass up this gem, you won't be disappointed!!

  • Welcoming & communicative hosts who shared their lovely space with me + 1! We shared coffee with E&A in the morning (we only stayed one night) and got great eating/shopping recs before heading out to explore Alberta, Mississippi, and other NE areas. We also learned a bit about them and a bit about their city. Nice people, nice place, nice area.

  • This is beyond a dream airbnb, it's a dream home! We loved the style of this house and staying there was an absolute pleasure. Adam made us feel at home as soon as we arrived, the animals were sweet, and the bedroom and bathroom were lovely, we really couldn't ask for more. We didn't get to meet Emily as she was away, but I'm sure she is as kind and accommodation as Adam. Public transport was easy, the neighborhood felt safe and we got some great restaurant tips from Adam around the place. Would 100% recommend this to anyone.

  • My goodness! What a treat is was, staying in the house of Emily and Adam. The place is completely aesthetically charming and gorgeous, and the hosts were more than accommodating. Although they left their home to my friend and I for the weekend due to their busy and beautiful lives, we certainly enjoyed the short time we shared with them. A very easygoing couple, with great insight on their home city. I'll certainly be returning here, hopefully sooner than later!

  • Emily and Adam were fantastic hosts. Our room was such a lovely space, and the rest of their home is a feast for the eyes!
E&A made our Portland experience so amazing. Their house is between two funky little food/shopping streets, and they were always spot on with their restaurant recommendations. Some of the spots within walking distance that we visited were Tasty & Co, Lovelies 50-50, Grain & Gristle. There is also a New Seasons grocer within walking distance.
Bus transport to downtown was only a few blocks away too.
Emily and Adam were also super helpful with directions, organising a taxi when we left, and Emily even shared some of her delish baked goodies with us!
Their animals are super low key also. If you don't want the cat in your room, just leave the door shut. And Donut their dog is pretty shy too, but such a cutie!
We would definitely recommend Emily and Adam's place if you are looking for an authentic, art-filled, awesome Portland experience!

  • These guys are rad. Not only do they have a beautiful home in a super cool location, they are some of the nicest, most genuine people out there. Though our paths didn't cross TOO frequently, they were always curious about my plans and were more than willing to offer helpful suggestions with an insider's perspective towards Portland. My time in this awesome city was made even better by staying with Emily and Adam. Can't wait to come back!

  • We had a delightful time staying at Adam and Emily's home in Portland. Our trip was excellent, our hosts were friendly and offered some good suggestions as well.

The shower was wonderful and accommodations were just right. We slept well every night and the option of using the kitchen (if we had done so) is a nice little perk. Their home is near all of the major MAX trains and several trimet bus lines. We were able to walk or bike everywhere from the transit routes after we rented bikes.

We will definitely be back to Portland and are grateful to our hosts for a very lovely time.

  • Had a wonderful time in Portland staying with Emily and Adam! We stayed 3 nights and felt very much at home. There home is beautiful and they both where very helpful with all sorts of recommendations. Cowbear is also just the sweetest snuggly cat <3 If we are in Portland again I would stay with Emily and Adam again for sure!

  • Emily and Adam's place is freakin rad. I spent the better part of the weekend taking notes on how their pad is furnished so I could copy them in my lame apartment. The bed was great, the location was perfect, the water was hot, and Emily & Adam were fantastic hosts. I will def be back soon.

    Thanks Again!

Hello! We are a fashion designer/musician/artist/creative director/foodie and a screenprinter/musician/sports fan/best friend/designer super thrilled to travel and host wonderful guests in our favorite place. We are avid thrift-shoppers and have amazing luck when it comes to discovering treasures and parking spaces. With this special knack, we create beauty in our space, and consider the atmosphere to be a very important part of the day. Recently our home was featured in the beautiful Japanese lifestyle magazine Ku:nel! Emily loves to cook, read, make art, eat at the best restaurants, get out into nature, and spend time with friends playing music, feasting, and enjoying the good life that the Northwest has to offer. Adam owns his own screenprinting business, he loves the outdoors, can school you on basketball trivia, and loves to eat as much as Emily loves to cook. We look forward to hosting you and sharing our favorite places with you!
