Welcome To Our Californian Garden City Bungalow!
This beautiful California bungalow is set in a well established garden with off street parking available.
The room available is a large double room with a queen size bed, a bay window and private ensuite bathroom.
If you time it right, you will be able to get a barista coffee at home ! My husband has a coffee van that he takes on a round in the mornings. This is your chance to try the local favourite coffees of long blacks, flat whites along with lattes, mochas or cappuccinos.
We are located close to Papanui Road - less than 500 metres - where there are regular buses to other parts of the city. We are also a very short walk to Northlands and Merivale Malls and in between the two malls are a host of restaurants and takeaway outlets.
There is a relaxing flat cycle way into town nearby and we have bicycles available for those keen to take the scenic route into Hagley Park and the new Restart area.
We are a family of three with one 14 year old boy and a small brown dog - Sally - bets on for what breed she is but she is so friendly, you will love her.
My husband, Paul has a background in travel and speaks Spanish fluently and can get by in Portuguese. As a family we are all enthusiastic about travel and our city. Any information you might need related to what is on offer in Christchurch and the South island, we are more than happy to help!
This is our family home so we ask for guests to respect that.
Guests friends can visit with prior agreement with us.
Alcohol can only be bought into the house by prior agreement.
If you try to book at very short notice for example less than 12 hours in advance we may not be able to host you as we will have made plans for the day / evening.
The hosts are very friendly. They are so nice to guide our way to supermarket and shopping mall. The room is so clean, and there is a bathroom in my own room. The breakfast is so delicious.
Annette and Paul were wonderful hosts for our short stay in Christchurch. Our room in their beautiful home was comfy and quiet. Lots of travel information (maps, guides) were provided, plus local converters and appliances were nice touches. Breakfasts were capped by great coffee from your personal barrista Paul! Suggestions for day trips helped make our visit great! And Sally (the dog) was a sweet, calm greeter and companion.
Another lovely stay with Annette, Paul and George. Felt very welcome, wonderful clean & comfy bedroom and outstanding company. Can't wait until my next trip!
Ann and Paul are perfect hosts. The house and the rented room are beautiful and so is the garden. We felt welcome from the first minute. Breakfast was delicious and so was the coffee from Paul in the mornings. We stayed for 4 nights and also brought our baby with us which wasn't a problem for them. We got an extra mattress which was really handy. The bed btw is really comfy. We could do our laundry and Ann gave us a lift to collect our camper van. Thank you guys once more for being such great hosts and being so helpful! There is a bus station in two minutes walking distance and shops and restaurants around the corner. A big mall is in ten minutes walking distance. To put it in a nutshell we really enjoyed our stay with them and would come back straight away. Highly recommend! Book them :)
Annette and Paul could not have made us more welcome after travelling from the UK. Our room with en-suite was very comfortable and breakfast all laid out ready in the morning. Delicious cereals, fruit, yogurt and toast with tea or coffee. We were made to feel totally at home and could chill out whilst recovering from jet-lag. A bonus was the use of their bicycles which was a perfect way to explore Christchurch and get some exercise too.
We do not hesitate to recommend Annette and Paul and their airb&b. They were so hospitable and gave us lots of valuable information about their fabulous country.
Annette and Paul were brilliant hosts. Myself and my friend checked in to their lovely home with a cup of tea waiting for us. The room accommodated our needs and we had everything we required to make it a comfortable stay. We also woke up to a continental breakfast, which we weren't expecting, so thank you.
Annette was very welcoming and made us feel instantly at home. Both Annette and Paul were warm and friendly and were kind enough to share their evening (and wine) with us so although our stay was only one night we left feeling as though we had just re-connected with old friends. Our accommodation was super comfortable and clean and Paul made us a barrista coffee in the morning to send us on our way. We wished we could have stayed longer and hope to stay in touch.
