  • Perfect location, gracious host and beautiful friendly animals. We loved our too short stay in Taos with Susan!

  • Susan is a generous, kind host. I found the bedroom particularly wonderful. In corner with south and west windows it was perfect for communing with the full moon. And the bed was very comfortable!

  • Great space, great amenities, great host! Susan was so thoughtful to provide a variety of simple breakfast items -- not cheap muffins and questionable microwave burritos, but quality yogurt, bread, cereal, etc. She also was kind enough to recommend some trails and leave me a book on local hikes, since I said that was my main objective during my stay.

The bed is super comfy; there are small hand weights if you want to get in some basic shoulder work; the place is a quick drive into town but far enough to feel like you're more of a local than a tourist. In short, I had a great experience at Susan's place!

  • Susan's place was beautiful. She is a perfect hostess and worked her tail off to accommodate me. The Taos area has many beautiful sights to see but don't miss out on the Grand Canyon Bridge by way of the visitors center using the scenic back road! We saw big horn sheep, plenty of waterfowl and a bald eagle.

  • Susan's place is a dream! And she designed it! It's situated on a scenic hill overlooking the entire city of Tao. We got to pet her donkey and horse, too. She let her horse do tricks for us. It was hilarious! Can't wait be back!!

  • I was incredibly lucky to have found this place to start off the new year. I liked that Susan's place was away from the main strip. I was surrounded by nature, the bright stars at night, and it was quiet. I stayed in the room with the queen-sized bed and the memory foam topper allowed me to go into a coma-sleep at night. In the morning, I looked straight out the window and saw hot air balloons and in the evening, it faced the gorgeous sunset (all while laying in bed). The water pressure in the shower was fantastic, bathroom was super clean, and being able to chill in the comfort of your own living space was relaxing. Susan was a wonderful host and I enjoyed every minute of my stay.

  • We really enjoyed our stay at Susan's. Plenty of space, great views, clean and attractive furnishings. Extra touches like yogurt, milk and juice in the fridge, jars of Cheerios on the shelf made it easy and welcoming. Thank you, we had a great time! The recommendation for dinner at the Love Apple was so spot on, one of my favorite restaurants ever!

  • My stay at Susan's was a Christmas spectacular! We woke up in a southwestern paradise. It was the best Christmas morning I have had in a long time and it will always be a memorable moment. Part of that memory will be sharing it in a home that was elegant, cultural and so cozy and comfortable. The desperate wing was perfect and private and everything we could hope for. Don't pass this home up. Very unique and special.

  • Susan's place is delightful as is Susan herself. Our space was essentially a self-contained wing of her lovely home with a corner bedroom. In the morning, we woke to a gorgeous view over Taos and the October Balloon Festival event. The diverse library in the living room was a nice surprise. Susan helped guide our restaurant decision for the evening, which was excellent. We look forward to our next visit.

  • I enjoyed my stay at Susan's beautiful home in Taos. The listing reads "private room," but I don't think this is entirely accurate, since the guest wing is closed off to the rest of the house it feels like your are in your own private apartment. The views of the mountains in the morning were breathtaking and the bed was so comfortable. An added surprise was light breakfast items. Thank you, Susan!

About
My dog and I lead a quiet life, punctuated by the occasional dinner party attended by hyper verbal creative types. I'm a writer/editor/designer but my real passion is my horse, Chance. (It used to be skiing moguls until I wore out my knees.) I've lived all over the United States and, for five years, in New Zealand on a dairy farm and in Christchurch. (And I often wish I were still there!)
