Our country-style neighborhood is the best way to see and experience the "local" way of life here on Kauai. Fresh fish usually available from our fishermen and farmer's market is awesome!
Parking right in our property, near your entrance. Car rentals are a must up here since taxis are quite pricey. Busstop is about 2 miles away.
Apt can accomodate a couple, 2 single travelers, and 1 older child (over age 10) We do have a Queensize Airbed for your use. No late night partying allowed or smoking. Checkin Time is 1:00 and Check Out is 11:00 am. Inquire if your flights are later, so maybe we can accomodate you.
We loved our stay with Michelle and Tony! It was a fantastic opportunity and we can't wait to be back to Kauai. The apartment we booked was VERY spacious, clean and fully furnished with all things we needed. The bedroom comes with a very comfortable bed, large closet space, a chest of drawers and a desk& chair. The living room area with open kitchen is equipped with a large sofa, a coffee table and armchair (oh and TV, but who needs that in Hawaii:)). Kitchen area had all utensils, pans&pots, a great coffee maker, full sized refrigerator, microwave, toaster and few other kitchen essentials. Bathroom was very clean and modern, with bathtub plus shower, a full sized vanity and medicine cabinet. The hosts went extra mile and provided all essentials like shampoo, conditioner, sunscreen etc. It's worth mentioning that there are brand new wood panel flooring throughout the apartment.
What else? The WI-FI works great, the house surroundings are awesome and fabulously landscaped, we got our own parking area and private grill to use. Michelle&Tony provided all beach stuff you may need- chairs, mats, snorkeling gear, boogie boards etc
We didn't have an opportunity to talk much to the hosts as we were leaving very early and coming back late, but we had a little chat with Tony and he is an extremely cool and informative person. Go with his recommendations and you won't be disappointed.
Now Kauai... There is not enough words to describe how fantastic the island is. We will update our travel site (link at the end of review) with all the things we did while being here, but in few words, Kauai stays with your heart and excites with its natural beauty. We hiked majority of the official trails on the island and would return in a heartbeat to do them again in the future. If you have a chance, do the Kalalau Trail, visit Waimea And Kokee State parks, get dirty in Hanalei's Okolehao trail, experience the alien landscape of Alakai Swamp, see the island from the top of Nonou Mountain, say hi to Nene geese in Hanalei's taro fields, spend a romantic evening and watch sunset in Anini beach, see the unreal Waialeale crater from a door-less helicopter, eat some amazing dishes at local food trucks and local restaurants, learn the history of the people that colonized this place and see the native flora in Limahuli Garden and do many, many other things that make this a special place on Earth. Kauai is amazing and Michelle&Tony made all they efforts for us to experience it just as we wanted to. Mahalo for that!

We had a wonderful stay at Michelle and Tony's place. They were great hosts, very friendly and helpful. Kapa'a is a good central location to stay in if you want to take day trips to the west shore and north shore. My fiance and I took day trips every day and enjoyed coming home to a nice, quiet and relaxing place to unwind. The house is located a few miles away from the main highway in Kapa'a but is convenient and easy to get to.
There is a lot to do on the east shore as well, so you don't need to drive far to get to beautiful beaches or waterfalls. There's also an awesome bike path that goes right along the coast.
We absolutely loved Kauai and did not want to leave. I hope to come back very soon!
We vacationed here on our belated honeymoon. We loved the location as it was perfect to get around to either side of the island in no time. We thoroughly enjoyed Kapaa and the local fare. The apt. was better than the pictures looked like online. We had everything we needed right in our little adobe. They even supplied us with beach equipment and allowed us to use their grill most every night to cook meals. We had laundry access and they gave us great tips on where to eat out in Kapaa for wherever our taste buds took us. We also got to enjoy the lovely macadamia banana nut muffins from Michelle. This was exactly the type of environment we wanted for our honeymoon. We definitely want to come back.
Reminder--this is the tropics so be aware that bugs and critters are on the island and can get in the house. Please plan accordingly and be careful.
I traveled to Kuaui with 2 friends, and we found the rental property spacious and charming. The country setting minutes from Kapaa was convenient to all we planned to do on the island, and it was relaxing to awake to the sounds of birds each morning. Tony and Michelle were excellent hosts and I would not hesitate to refer the place to friends. Thanks again for a very relaxing and enjoyable stay.
NIce place to stay, out of the fray of Kapa'a. The apartment is large so it is easy to spread out and be comfortable. While you can hear The Carlson family upstairs, they make every effort to be considerate of their neighbors downstairs. We thoroughly enjoyed our visit.
Michelle and Tony has really nice house. We had a private apartment with kitchen. We did not have to share anyting, so that we have pervect privacy and if we wanted something they helped us with everything. Very good accomodation. I could recommed to everybody!
Martin and his parents were wonderful guests to have here. We can highly recommend them to anyone hosting. They were very nice and friendly and left our apt in perfect condition. All our best to the Lucan family on your next adventures in Hawaii! hugs, michelle and tony
It was a pleasant stay in the heart of Kauai! The apartment was spacious, cozy and well-equipped. The hosts were always ready to help and even treated us one morning to home-made muffins! what a pleasant surprise!
The only inconvenience was problems with hot water - which was caused by cloudy days (the house is run by solar energy system) which I am sure is not an issue in summer;)

About the Host, Michelle & Tony
What can we say about living in paradise? It's just a wonderful, gorgeous, funfilled way of life that we SO enjoy and bringing up our daughter here is just an added blessing. We've been living on Kauai since 1998, and wouldn't want to be anywhere else. We built our home and cottage to share with our family and friends and hope you can experience our Kauai and share its many blessings.
