Our apartment is in very heart of Warsaw, situated on the 12th floor of a traditional communistic building with a great view. Now in the Warsaw centre (closest neighbourhood) there are a lots of modern skyscrapers, variety of restaurants, cafes, clubs and museums. Big grocery store (opened 6 days a week) is just next to the entrance to the building, so you can go in your slippers for freshly baked bread for your breakfast ;)
If you draw lines between all major highlights in Warsaw they all meet up almost perfectly at our neighbourhood:
~ Old Town - 20 min walk
~ Uprising Museum - 19 min walk
~ Polin Museum of Polish Jews - 24 min walk
~ Palace of Science and Culture (observation deck) - 7 min walk (you can see it from our window)
~ Historical Old Market Mirowska Hall - 5 min walk (you can see it from our window)
~ Kopernik Science Centre - 20 min by public transportation
~ Łazienki Royal Park with Palace on the water - 24 min by public transportation
~ Wilanów Palace - 50 min by public transportation
~ Subway station of 2 lines, buses and trams - 10 min walk
