This is a nice house and a comfy bed with great linen and pillows. The most important thing right? The greeting was not actually Peter, but a friend instead. The welcome was easy and information was up to date. The house was clean and all facilities were available to be used, except the cooker, I was told. I didn't see another soul all the time I was here (4 days) and began to wonder if there was anyone else around - so it was nice and quiet in a busy area. Nobody was around for check-out which I would have expected. Odd to just leave and key without a goodbye. A nice stay and I would like to stay again in the future if I need to.
Peter greeted me on arrival, mockingly (I think) chastising my "Yankee" beneficence for a £3 tip to cabbie. (I'm from Toronto, but have been called worse). He helped me with my carry-on suitcase and gave me a quick tour. Thereafter, Miko, when present, answered any query I had (which were few). The brochures in the room with info re the tube and local attractions were a plus, and directions to the local pub (good food & ambience) across a pretty park, just steps away, all added to the relief of a stressed traveller (there was a delay on the Chunnel). Breakfast is a DIY affair from a kitchen well stocked with cutlery & dishware.
He wan't there when we arrived.
I stayed there 3 night with my boyfriend.
we saw him just twice.
There are close London hot spot. It was easy to go anywhere.
But, Room doors was broken. So, We couldn't lock door during stayed.
light either does. It was broken.
There was beautiful small room. but Its uncomfortable.
This was very much a business trip and it was a case of a quick shower before bed and then departure first thing in the morning. Peter and Mitko were very welcoming, the room was clean and bright and the shower room, although small, was clean and functional.
My girlfriend and I rented a room in Peter and Mitko's lovely old house in Vauxhall. The location is superb as it is away from the hustle and bustle of Central London but offers very easy access to practically everywhere. The room is well decorated with nice antiques and extremely clean. We stayed for about a week, and were appreciative when Mitko changed the sheets mid-stay. The bathroom is in the hall across from the room. It is cleaned daily.
Only negative. There are no locks on the rooms and, in fact, the doors barely close. This would not be much of an issue if there was only one room being let, but Peter and Mitko professionally let at least three rooms in their house. Sometimes for stays of just one night. Lots of strangers come and go and I did not feel like my belongings were secure.
The room was as described. Clean and conveniently located very near Vauxhall station. Good price for location and room. The bathroom is rather small but was clean and shower was OK! I would recommend this place considering the location and price. Mitko was welcoming and we could leave our bags for a bit longer after check-out. Its a good place if you're planning on exploring the city, not necessarily in case you want to spend more time to relax in the apartment.
