Enjoy scenic Hudson Valley from our private Guest House in the woods. This beautiful home, sits on 9 acres and can accommodate 8+ people (1 king bed, 1 full, 2 twin, 2 cots and couches). Near historic sites, Woodbury Commons Outlet shopping and great hiking on trails.
This modern cabin has all the luxuries of home; 3 bedrooms (including a master bedroom suite), small office with cots that can double as a small bedroom, 2 full baths, jacuzzi, fireplace, living room, dining room, eat -in-kitchen, front deck with grill, and if you are a horse lover - you are just a short walk away from Schunnemunk Shadow Stables (a horse boarding, lesson and training facility).
The house comfortably accommodated eight people for New Years. Jen was a great host and was there to greet us upon arrival and show us around. It was easy to find and there are supermarkets, restaurants, and gas stations nearby. Being that it is in the woods, there is a bit of an insect problem. There are plenty of plates, cups, utensils and cookware to use. We would definitely come back for a longer stay.
Jennifer was a great host for my guests. A very warm and lovely house. Will stay again soon.
A group of us did our annual Fall Foliage weekend in this house. It was excellent. 8 of us slept very comfortably, everything worked very well. The house has a beautiful location with lots of privacy near all the beautiful things the hudson valley has to offer. The owner was very responsive and laid back. Loved the large deck with an awesome BBQ. Recommend this house for a group looking to get out of the city for the weekend!
BEAUTIFUL!! Super easy to get to from the City & such an escape. Great location as far as experiencing the surrounding area too - but truly the house was satisfying enough! Barely did anything on our itinerary because we were enjoying cooking outdoors & the views from the deck so much. Even saw some gorgeous deer! We highly recommend & will definitely be visiting again. The host is superb - very responsive, informative & personable.
The hosts were very communicative and helpful. They made it an easy trip, even so last minute. The house is cute and true to photos. We had a fun game of wiffle ball in the yard...it was great! I will say, if you intent to stay outside on the deck at night, BRING BUG SPRAY, and perhaps some candles. The room with the two cots is VERY tiny, and a little creepy, to be honest. There was the short straws in our group of who had to sleep in that room. BUT really not a big deal. Well worth the rate, and a really fun group house. Easy trip from the city.
Six of my friends and I stayed the weekend at Ivy Rock Farms, and we had a great time. We found a nice, clean house close to hikes with excellent views of the Hudson River. As others have noted, there are bugs, but they weren't a problem.
The fireplace was awesome and worked well! everything else was generally well taken care of,t here was only a small problem with bugs, but it wasn't too big of a deal. Thanks so much for the stay!
What an excellent find. The guest house was absolutely wonderful. Large, comfortable, charming. An amazing retreat, quietly secluded in the woods, minutes away from all conveniences and only 1:30 from the city. We stayed for 3 days over New Years, 8 of us and the experience was just perfect. The fireplace works perfectly and there was plenty of firewood. We had a ton of snow over the weekend, and an equal amount of fun. A+ all the way for Ivy Rock Farm.
This past weekend my friends and I came back to Ivy Rock since we had a blast last year. This year we had an even better time!!
For a group of 25-35 year old men and women who live/work in Manhattan, this house is great. I wrote a review last year as well, but it's only a little more than an hour's drive from NYC. There are huge supermarkets, gas stations, Dunkin Donuts, Walgreens, etc about 5 minutes away from the house which also makes it very convenient.
The house was kept even cleaner than last time we visited. There were clean towels and sheets for us to use, plumbing worked well, and the beds and couches were clean. Even a big group of people can easily find enough spots to sleep.
My favorite part of the house, the huge front porch with chairs, had a big center table this year! Yay! This made our BBQ perfect, and we got to enjoy the sun outside while we ate. The huge front lawn is also perfect for playing games like volleyball or kickball.
During our stay, we drove out to the Hudson River (only 15min away!) and enjoyed the beautiful scenic drive in the State Park. We went to Donahue Memorial Park and had a picnic and took a nap at the riverside. We also went to Cousins Paintball (only 5 minutes from the house!). We could have gone kayaking too if it was a little less windy. You can imagine how convenient it is to have all these things so close to the house.
The hosts are very responsive to email and messages. We asked to check in a little early since we wanted to get there in the morning, and they responded very kindly. As I did last year, I would absolutely recommend staying at this house for an awesome, fulfilling quick getaway from NYC. Thank you again!!
I highly recommend renting this cabin! It is so peaceful and cozy. The renter is so kind she let our group use anything in the house, including food, game systems, movies. However, if you do wanna use some of the food there I recommened looking at the expiration dates. The only negative thing I had to say was that there are alot of stink bugs in the house. If you are very afraid of bugs, I do not recommened you stay here or at lease be aware that they are a lot of them.
