Interaction with Guests
Orientation of property upon check in. Please don't hesitate to call / text / email if you have any questions or comments.
Upscale neighborhood of Upper Dowsett / Nuuanu.
Nuʻuanu Pali is a section of the windward cliff (pali in Hawaiian) of the Koʻolau mountain located at the head of Nuʻuanu Valley on the island of Oʻahu. It has a panoramic view of the windward (northeast) coast of Oʻahu. The Pali Highway (Hawaii State Highway 61) connecting Kailua/Kāneʻohe with downtown Honolulu runs through the Nuʻuanu Pali Tunnels bored into the cliffside.
The area is also the home of the Nuʻuanu Freshwater Fish Refuge and the Nuʻuanu Reservoir in the jurisdiction of the Hawaiʻi Department of Land and Natural Resources.
The Nuʻuanu Pali State Wayside is a lookout above the tunnels where visitors are treated to a panoramic view of the Oʻahu's windward side with sweeping views of Kāneʻohe, Kāneʻohe Bay, and Kailua. It is also well known for strong trade winds that blow through the pass (now bypassed by the Nuʻuanu Pali Tunnels), forming a sort of natural wind tunnel.
The "BUS" stops less than a block away. Very centrally location for Oahu. For more flexibility and to see as much as possible, I would recommend renting a car and taking one day tours of neighbor islands.

Ideal location: condo against a large park and looking out at spectacular Diamond Head AND 1 block from Waikiki beach. Best of all - Kurt and Irene are super duper ... All arrangements made with ease. Definitely will make future reservations with them again.
Kurt & Irene were very hospitable. I was able to check in a bit early & check out an hour late as the ArtZone wasn't booked @ my arrival & on the day of my checkout...this was extremely convenient. They welcomed me into their home & invited me to help myself to anything in their pantry & fridge; full use of their kitchen & good restaurant recommendations (within 5-10 minutes of texting.) I had the 2nd floor of their home all to myself! The room is small but I left the house between 8&10am & didn't return till 9-11pm so that's all I needed. During my final night there I mentioned we had been dancing for 4 hours straight & Irene immediately offered something to soak my feet in.
Kurt and Irene made us feel at home, and we enjoyed out stay in this most unusual home. There is a new exhibit of a ballerina which is very attractive; and the Aerial Crew led by NEO and Chandra was excellent.
This residence is a 'labor of love' regarding art in many forms.
Kurt & Irene were the best 1st Airbnb experience to have. They were kind, generous, helpful, warm, welcoming and fun. Travelling alone, I greatly appreciated their instant friendship. The residence is located 10 mins' drive from downtown Honolulu - so a great escape from the main strip of Waikiki.
My family and I had an absolutely spectacular time staying at ArtZone. The property itself is nothing short of incredible, from the spa in the living room through the unique art all over the walls. Both Kurt and Irene took excellent care of us during our stay. The location of the property was excellent, too – out of the hustle and bustle of Waikiki, but only a 15 minute drive to both the beaches on the North coast and to downtown. Couldn't have been happier, and hope to be back! Thanks!
With regard to our stay at Kurt's art zone, I would like to say "don't forget to book art zone for your fantastic vacation". Regretfully I had no chance to meet with Kurt, Irene has arranged all the necessary things professionally as well as gone to extra miles!!! Her feedback for our request was always delivered in a timely manner and very consideration!!! When I asked my daughter if you have any place of house to take a photo with, her answer was 'Irene'!!
Most impressive things for Art Zone was there are both sides attractiveness in this house ; cozy home and artistic sightseeing. We actually selected this space to give more new experience to my daughter who is keen on art. However after 2 days' staying, we realized that house is very cozy for staying!!
We would like to stay Kurt's other properties, too.
Again thank you Irene!!
