This is a lovely home in a prime location right in Silverton. It is well stocked with DVDs, books and games, and easy walking from all restaurants and bars.
The Acme Guesthouse was perfect for two couples. It was very clean and comfortable. The location was right on the main drag, and we were able to walk to all the restaurants and bars. The beds were VERY comfortable. My daughter and I were sort of snowed in while the boys did a guided ski tour, and we played games one afternoon. So glad we found Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer Monopoly to occupy our time. I would highly recommend anyone wanting to go to Silverton to stay there.
Really lovely house right, warm and friendly feeling and has everything you need. Situated in downtown Silverton - walking distance to everything.
Thanks, Cassandra !
We spent a night at the Acme Guesthouse this winter for a mini-getaway from Durango and we really enjoyed it. We will hopefully stay again sometime and will certainly recommend it to friends. They have obviously put a lot of care into the house and it had everything our group, which included 4 small children, needed. We appreciated having the assortment of kids books and games. The beds were comfy, the carpet was nice to put the kids in sleeping bags on and there were extra blankets. There was also coffee in the fridge, which was nice, although the walk to the Avalanche for lattes's (or beers) is less than a block away.
Cassandra & Robert's guesthouse is just a block from "downtown" Silverton, making the house within walking distance of all of town. Despite being on the main street it is quiet and private feeling. The house is spacious, easily sleeping 5. The living room & kitchen offer a large place to hang/relax/cook. All linens, blankets, cleaning supplies, cookware, etc was organized & easy to locate. Parking was easy. It was a fantastic place to base out of for some backcountry skiing/new years adventures!
About the Host, Cassandra And Robert
Many years ago while taking a month-long bicycle tour from Flagstaff, AZ to Iowa City, IA, we rode through the majestic San Juan Mountains of southwestern Colorado. Years passed, we married, graduated from college and had a kid. Seeking new opportunities, Rob convinced Cassandra to pull up stakes in Flagstaff, and move to Silverton! With no job prospects, and a months rent paid, we embarked on the journey that's led to Acme Guesthouse! Cassandra has managed the busiest lodging facility in Silverton for the last five years, and is now working on her MBA. Rob guides and patrols at the world-renowned Silverton Mountain Ski Area in the winter, and on the Colorado Trail with Colorado Mountain Expeditions in the summer. We both love to be outside as much as possible, getting after it!
