Nice clean place. Easy walk to downtown and everything Silverton has to offer. A great restaurant, the Brown Bear Cafe, is only a block away. Quiet nights, comfortable beds. Everything one could want for a stay in Silverton. I would rent again.
The place was a real treat! Great location in downtown Silverton--very close to Avalanche brewery--which was an awesome place to grab a beer and dinner! The house was clean and cozy, with lots of books around in case anyone wanted to do a little reading.
Cassandra and Robert's home was perfect for our Silverton stay! It was conveniently located on the main street, which surprisingly, was very quiet. The living room, kitchen, bedrooms, and bathroom had everything that we needed. When we texted them with questions about jeep tours before our arrival, they responded promptly with information. They were also very flexible about our later-than-expected arrival. This was our first Airbnb experience and we're very impressed!
Having driven by Silverton for over 30 years it was a pleasure to actually get to have a 'time out' and enjoy what this tiny, everything but sleepy, town has to offer.
The wedding we attended at Kendall Mtn. Rec Center was extremely convenient. If you are a walker it was a nice little walk everyday to help set up and get daily exercise.
The ACME GUEST HOUSE was exactly as pictured thankfully. Even though I consider us as low maintenance guests, Cassandra checked in with us to welcome us and let us know they were right there on site for anything we might need.
My priorities are a great hot shower, comfy, "not too soft" bed and a kitchen. All our needs were met.
Being located right on the main drag was convenient for restaurants however, could get a little noisy listening to all the Harleys and 4-wheelers cruise by. Most of the time it was very peaceful and I slept like a baby. Nights were pretty quiet.
Greene St. is the only paved street which is the main drag so a suggestion is to wear Crocs or more resilient shoes for walking if it rains as it did for us and tends to do in mountain towns.
Thankfully there was a fun puzzle to assemble and lots of books. There were movies but we did not check those out.
Thanks to Robert and Cassandra for a wonderful weekend stay!!!!!
We loved the Acme Guesthouse! Such a beautiful landscape surrounding and right on the main drag in Silverton. Beds were extremely comfortable and the house was spotless. Definitely recommend this!!
About the Host, Cassandra And Robert
Many years ago while taking a month-long bicycle tour from Flagstaff, AZ to Iowa City, IA, we rode through the majestic San Juan Mountains of southwestern Colorado. Years passed, we married, graduated from college and had a kid. Seeking new opportunities, Rob convinced Cassandra to pull up stakes in Flagstaff, and move to Silverton! With no job prospects, and a months rent paid, we embarked on the journey that's led to Acme Guesthouse! Cassandra has managed the busiest lodging facility in Silverton for the last five years, and is now working on her MBA. Rob guides and patrols at the world-renowned Silverton Mountain Ski Area in the winter, and on the Colorado Trail with Colorado Mountain Expeditions in the summer. We both love to be outside as much as possible, getting after it!
