Adam's place is great and in a wonderful little pocket of Columbia County, New York. It's exactly what my family needed over the holidays, and whenever there was a little hiccup, Adam made himself available on email to help.
My friends and I really enjoyed staying at Adam's house for two weeks in the summer. The location was great, far enough into the serene countryside, but not too far from civilization and cultural venues like Tanglewood. We cooked many meals in his updated kitchen and on the grill and relaxed on the Adirondack chairs out back and on the seating area right off the dining room. The house has a rustic and country house charm with modern bathrooms and new appliances. The heating system is also new, which we had to use once on a particularly cold August night.
Adam was an attentive host, as he had all the info that we needed to use the amenities in the home, as well as local recommendations for food and activities in the area. He made sure that we were comfortable and had everything that we needed. Thank you, Adam, for a memorable and relaxing time!
We loved this house. Such a great area, beautiful home, very comfortable.
We were in the area for the first time and took our two little boys skiing for the first time.
Adam was very accessible and helpful ~ we hope to stay here again!
We are so grateful to Adam and his gem in the country! The house is very clean and beautifully appointed. We needed to find a place at the last minute and Adam was very understanding and accommodating. We loved swimming in the nearby lake, going to Tanglewood and exploring Columbia County. We look forward to coming back!
Our getaway to Canaan was awesome as a result of Adam's charming home and excellent hospitality. The house was clean, aesthetically pleasing, fully functional, and well equipped for guests with appliances, amenities, and games. The owner gives his guests an extremely helpful guide to the house and surrounding area, and was an excellent communicator. My only hesitation in giving a 5-star recommendation is that I worry it won't be available when we want to return!
Adam's place is fabulous and he was the perfect host. He made sure that we had everything we needed before and during our visit. The location in Canaan is beautiful. Truly couldn't have asked for a better visit. Planning to go back again as soon as possible.
We were a little nervous about taking our twin 11-month babies for a mini-vacation in a rental home, but Adam made our stay SO easy and comfortable. The house has been lovingly restored--it has an open, contemporary feel while staying true to the old-fashioned charm of a Victorian farmhouse. Adam was available every step of the way to answer my myriad questions both before and during our trip. We had a wonderful time hanging out at the very cozy (but spacious) home, cooking and listening to music, and also venturing a few miles in various directions to take in the sites. It was a perfect jumping-off point for both Western Mass and (new to us) Eastern New York. Thank you for being so friendly and welcoming, Adam. We hope to return to your place soon!
I'm a restaurant owner in NYC and a full time nature lover who together with Satomi and her daughter Saya ( not shown) enjoy splitting our time between the West Village in New York City and our relaxing country paradise in Canaan, NY.
