Sink into the 1000 tukkies chair, lose yourself in that one good book. A breath of fresh air by the sea, coffee in bed or in the sun in the garden. Silt kissing and bathing until you shrank ❤️

The space
You will have the entire house at your disposal. Vintage all over with original cassina sofas and a 1000 tukkies (lying)chair which you can slide back for roomy naps. Everywhere you will find blankets and pillows, books, magazines and games.

The fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher has a Moccamaster, Nespresso, milk frother, toaster and a well-stocked crockery cupboard. The tastiest coffee and tea are abundant.

Downstairs is the bathroom with rain shower and separate toilet. The upper floor is fully open with a large made up bed of 180 x 200 full of pillows. From the bed you step into the bath (alone or with two) 🤩

Please note, upstairs it is quite low so the high mattress is on the floor (see bar in photo). It may be less suitable for people with walking difficulties.

The brick floor comes from an old abbey and underneath there is underfloor heating which makes the cottage very comfortable even in the colder months.

The icing on the cake is the original baking oven room. The oven has provided the hamlet with bread for years and is now retired. Fortunately, we were able to keep it during the renovation and it has become a showpiece in the house. We have transformed the oven room into breakfast, private dining, games room or workspace.

We chose not to set up a TV, but there is internet and a Sonos speaker!

All day you do have sun or shade somewhere. The front garden is very sunny (including morning sun) with unobstructed views and the large (250 m2) intimate backyard is really "heaven" with seats and sun loungers everywhere. The garden behind the dike is from the neighbors.

Towels (2 pp) are provided. Please bring your own beach towels

No place? We also rent out our vintage VWT3 van this season as a stay at minicamping Good Hope, 1km from the cottage. Something else but feel free to check my other ad.

Other things to note
The cottage is located in a small hamlet with incredibly sweet neighbors. We of course want to keep our relationship with them good and ask you to take this into account by keeping it quiet and, for example, not playing music outside.

We do not allow pets or children in this cottage.

Tourist tax in 2025 is €2.55 pppn and must be paid separately upon arrival or departure. This can be done in cash, by bank transfer or by means of a Tikkie. Please indicate your preference when booking.

We have 2 electric bicycles (Gazelle) available. These are available for rent for €15 per day per bike. Please indicate at the time of booking so that they can be reserved and are available for you.

Neighborhood highlights

Lief Huisje Zeeland is located in a small hamlet near the Westerschelde. It is a 2 km walk to the coast. Our favorite breakfast/lunch tent Liefs Lies is 6 km walk/bike and Loods Tien (beach pavilion with a beautiful beach and view of the lighthouse) 2 km away.

Star restaurant De Kromme Watergang is a 700-metre walk. Roll home so 😉 you can also eat here at the Kromme Bistro. A little more low key but insanely delicious.

Furthermore, you have many nature reserves and a large network of hiking and biking routes.

Hi, I'm Iske. Please feel welcome to have a look at my holiday home Lief Huisje Zeeland (also called Bakhuisje Zeeland). I work in Amsterdam but grew up in Waterlandkerkje/Zeeland. I had the opportunity to buy a small house in Sasput. Over here you live a completely different life. Working in the garden, walking in the fields, bicycling and going to the beach. And when I miss the city it's only a 30-40 minute drive to Gent or Brugge!
