Cosy guesthouse in historic town.

Apartment - Entire home/apt · Ada St, Tarpon Springs, FL 34689, United States

The Space

We have a small guesthouse behind our home that has been fixed up for vacation rentals. Please send me a message before making a reservation.

The guesthouse is about 650 sq ft - it has one bedroom, a kitchen, a bathroom, a living room area as well as a dining area. In addition to the queen bed in bedroom, there is a futon in the living space which can sleep 2 children.
You will have access to your private deck.
Parking, wifi and cable TV are included.

We have tried to make the gueshouse as cosy as possible by ensuring that your basic needs are met. Kitchen has coffee machine, toaster, microwave, stove and full fridge. If you are looking for something better than a hotel room, then we are right for you. Our prices are reasonable. Our guesthouse is comfortable and clutter free. It has been decorated with you and your family in mind.

Tarpon Springs is a small town that dates back to 1800s with the arrival of the first settlers. Once known as the “Venice of the South,” it is one of the oldest towns in Florida. It is named after the abundant fish found off its coast and is hailed as the “Sponge Capital of the World.”

Our guesthouse is centrally located. There are many attractions within a half mile radius. And even more so within a 5 mile radius.

Half mile radius: Downtown Tarpon Springs, Sponge docks, Spring Bayou, park, groceries (winn dixie and Sweetbay), coffee shops, restaurants, local acquarium, local museum, gift shops, many churches, 38 mile trail that starts in Tarpon Springs and ends in St. Petersburg, etc..

And of course, within 5 miles, you will find beaches and parks and much more.

We enjoy our home and town tremendously and we wish you will get a chance to experience this city and grow to love it as well.

Our only request is that you be responsible and respectful of the guesthouse as well as the community that you will be visiting.

We look forward to meeting you and hosting you,

  • Stayed with Maaza and her family for the month of February. Love it so much here that we are staying another month.

  • The guesthouse was private and comfortable. Location was wonderful since we were able to walk down to the sponge docks, the bayou, downtown and the Pinellas Trail.

  • Maaza was friendly and accommodating, and the guesthouse
was clean and comfortable. The location is terrific since it's
close to the downtown area, the sponge docks, and also Craig Park where you may be able to see manatees in the winter. We did! Also, it is literally steps away from the great coffee shop others have written about as well as a great Greek restaurant, Mama Maria's.
Maaza helped us find things around town, including bike rentals. We had a great time riding around town and especially on the Pinellas Trail.
In short, we had a wonderful visit at the guesthouse and in Tarpon Springs and would definitely do it again.

  • We had a marvelous time at Maaza's great guest house! The space was private, quiet and spacious. Maaza was incredibly accommodating - we literally booked the night before at probably 9:30p. She wanted us to feel completely at home, which we did. It was the perfect location to enjoy a quiet, relaxed {Greek} beach town one day and then drive down the coast the next. There was a cute little kitchen, which I would have loved to use if we'd stayed longer - there were a few Greek markets that would have been fun to get ingredients from to make a dinner at home.

We spent the first day walking around all the Greek shops, restaurants and bakeries and then drove down to Howard Park Beach and Sunset Beach (only a few minutes away). Clearwater and Tampa are only a short drive, so this is the perfect location if you want to go to the beach for the day or explore Tampa, but not pay the price of beachfront/larger city accommodations.

We had a great meal at the original Mama Maria's and enjoyed waterfront drinks and fresh seafood at Rusty Bellie's. The Eco Bean coffee shop is literally steps away from the house. A little heads-up, though: They don't serve plain brewed coffee. Opt for an americano, though, or one of their many homemade flavor syrups in a latte. On our drive down the coast, we had an amazing crepe at Cafe de Paris Bakery in Indian Rocks Beach.

Don't pass up Maaza's great place!

  • Maaza was such a excellent hostess and the guesthouse is beautiful! It has everything you need to enjoy your stay and it's very close to the sponge docks, cool local restaurants, the bayou and a 5 min drive to Sunset Beach or Howard Beach. Do not miss the sunset at the beaches! After living in Tampa for 4 years (and never going to Tarpon Springs), it was so refreshing to enjoy this small town on the Gulf coast. We went for a weekend getaway and after considering the usual St. Pete beach/Clearwater, we wanted to try something different and it was such a great choice! Maaza will truly make you feel like home!

  • Maaza was a wonderful host!! the apartment is exactly as described, very clean and perfect for two people. Located within walking distance of the docks/downtown and wonderful local restaurants. I would highly recommend to anyone wanting to stay in the Tarpon Springs area.

  • We are a couple from Germany and stayed some days in the lovely little holiday-house of Maaza. The House is situated behind the main house in a very quiet neighborhood where Maaza and her family lives. It has a living room with an adjacent kitchen fully equipped with an oven, big refrigerator, Toaster, Microwave and enough dishes. We were appreciated to find a little range of food for the first moment as bottles with water, bread, fruit, spices and more as well a information about the city. The bed was very comfortable and everywhere it was very clean. We had a good time in this house and enjoyed a lot the fine beaches, the nice landscape and the town. Maaza was a great host and we would come back if it was possible.

  • Tarpon Springs is a slice of paradise! Maaza and Anthony's quaint cottage nestled behind their bungalow has all the comforts one could possibly want: a cozy bedroom free from street noise and lights, very clean functional bathroom and kitchenette and a bright warm living area perfect for a couple on vacation who don't want to be crammed into an overpriced hotel room. Other perks are that they are literally less than a minute walk to an organic eco-friendly coffee shop. The famous Sponge Docks with a plethora of Greek restaurants and shops, a beautiful park on the water and downtown are also a quick walk from the cottage. The wonderful oasis knows as Howard Park is a very short drive and possible by bicycle for those who would rather not drive. The sandy white beach and privacy at Howard Park is MUCH better than nearby crowded Clearwater. Tarpon Springs is an easy drive from Tampa where we went for dinner and a show one night. I could go on and on about how wonderful the area is but would be remiss if I didn't mention how helpful Maaza's emails to us prior and during the trip were. Tarpon Springs has created a community unlike anything we've ever experienced. It's only a matter of time before their secret is out and it becomes a top travel destination for people who want the charm of a small town and its friendly residents versus the bigger cities nearby. Thank you Maaza and Anthony for introducing us to a place we hope to call home someday!
