About this listing
We have a small guesthouse behind our home that has been fixed up for vacation rentals. Please send me a message before making a reservation.
The guesthouse is about 650 sq ft - it has one bedroom, a kitchen, a bathroom, a living room area as well as a dining area. In addition to the queen bed in bedroom, there is a futon in the living space which can sleep 2 children.
You will have access to your private deck.
Parking, wifi and cable TV are included.
We have tried to make the gueshouse as cosy as possible by ensuring that your basic needs are met. Kitchen has coffee machine, toaster, microwave, stove and full fridge. If you are looking for something better than a hotel room, then we are right for you. Our prices are reasonable. Our guesthouse is comfortable and clutter free. It has been decorated with you and your family in mind.
Tarpon Springs is a small town that dates back to 1800s with the arrival of the first settlers. Once known as the “Venice of the South,” it is one of the oldest towns in Florida. It is named after the abundant fish found off its coast and is hailed as the “Sponge Capital of the World.”
Our guesthouse is centrally located. There are many attractions within a half mile radius. And even more so within a 5 mile radius.
Half mile radius: Downtown Tarpon Springs, Sponge docks, Spring Bayou, park, groceries (winn dixie and Sweetbay), coffee shops, restaurants, local acquarium, local museum, gift shops, many churches, 38 mile trail that starts in Tarpon Springs and ends in St. Petersburg, etc..
And of course, within 5 miles, you will find beaches and parks and much more.
We enjoy our home and town tremendously and we wish you will get a chance to experience this city and grow to love it as well.
Our only request is that you be responsible and respectful of the guesthouse as well as the community that you will be visiting.
We look forward to meeting you and hosting you,
No smoking and no pets inside the guesthouse.
Treat the house and the contents like you would your own or better.
Please note that the unit is not luxurious, by current standards. :) But if you are looking for something better than a hotel room, then you are in the right place.
I look forward to hosting you and meeting your needs..
The place was awesome. I stayed their for a month. It's a quiet neighborhood and I probably walked to 15 or so restaurants in my month in Tarpon, all within a mile radius. Groceries are only about a mile away as well.
If you expand your travels, there is Sunset Beach and Fred Howard Park about 3 miles away. Fred Howard is pretty picturesque with its palm trees and one of the best sunsets I've ever seen. Go there on a weekday night and it's very tame. Dunedin and Clearwater both have some nice beaches as well. A hint with Clearwater: if you go to the north shore it's a lot more tame, which is what I prefer.
Tarpon Springs is a cool town with an interesting history and it was great experiencing everything it had to offer while staying at Maaza's guest house. It was cozy, private, and was in a great location.
Would recommend to anyone. The accommodation was as advertised, excellent and close to groceries, bicycle trail and sponge docks.
Mazza was a very accommodating and a wonderful host.
Thank you Mazza for a very enjoyable stay.
Arrived as strangers and left as friends. We will miss Maaza, Selomeh, and Anthony and look forward to seeing them again at Christmas. Susie misses them too.
Stayed with Maaza and her family for the month of February. Love it so much here that we are staying another month.
The guesthouse was private and comfortable. Location was wonderful since we were able to walk down to the sponge docks, the bayou, downtown and the Pinellas Trail.
Maaza was friendly and accommodating, and the guesthouse
was clean and comfortable. The location is terrific since it's
close to the downtown area, the sponge docks, and also Craig Park where you may be able to see manatees in the winter. We did! Also, it is literally steps away from the great coffee shop others have written about as well as a great Greek restaurant, Mama Maria's.
Maaza helped us find things around town, including bike rentals. We had a great time riding around town and especially on the Pinellas Trail.
In short, we had a wonderful visit at the guesthouse and in Tarpon Springs and would definitely do it again.
