Tucked away in the hills above Hollywood Blvd is Nichols Canyon, one of Los Angeles' most desirable streets. Wake up in the morning to the sound of song birds, fall asleep at night listening to a natural stream below your bedroom window. Our ultra modern, zen-like 5000 sq. ft, 5-bedroom home is on one acre of natural California chaparral habitat. Huge windows and four balconies open up to a shaded landscape covered in Coast Live Oak and Sycamore trees. Sit by the sunny koi pond in our multi-level backyard by day, evenings you'll want to light the open fire pit and enjoy the stars overhead. Surrounded by hillsides which give you complete privacy from the few neighbors nearby, you'll never know that you're only 90 seconds from Hollywood Blvd. Our home is decorated with asian archeological artifacts and modern furnishings. Walk in and you'll immediately sense its quiet, peaceful atmosphere. Fifteen minutes to Beverly Hills, thirty minutes to Malibu, and just a few minutes to the nightlife of West Hollywood. Five bathrooms, including a large custom concrete sunken bath with hillside view, fully equipped modern kitchen, wireless Sonos sound system, three flatscreen TV's, and two fireplaces.

The house Is great! The only drawback is that the bedding isn't as comfy as it could be. But for the price? The location? And the fact that the house is stocked with just about any cooking or serving utensil you might need, offsets the bedding issues. There are three bedrooms upstairs and a master on the first floor. Two full baths and the rest of the bathrooms are 1/2 baths. The fifth bedroom is outside of the house and is a converted storage area with a half bath. There were seven of us, all girls, so no one really wanted that room. Checkin was very easy, and the house was clean on arrival! The outside space is amazing and was my absolute favorite part of the house.
We enjoyed our stay. The house is in a nice location in the Hills, just minutes from the action of Hollywood. Nice big backyard with fire pit. Sadly no outdoor grill though.
We enjoyed the quirkiness of the house but know that the house is getting on in age and hasn't been updated. We were also disappointed to find that the main fridge was still broken after another reviewer mentioned it. The house while available at the checkin time, but still wasn't clean and we had to wait a few more hours for the cleaner to finish. Also, the furniture is pretty beat up and some of the bedrooms are still decorated from the kids who must have lived there before.
Be forewarned, cell reception for both AT&T and Verizon was basically non-existent!
All that said, it is a great value.
This house was very nice. Very modern design and in a great location. 5 of us stayed here and had a blast. The host was very helpful. I would stay here again.
I gave three stars, but if allowed, I'd give three and a half. Craig and Sophie's home is beautiful - like the pictures. It's in a great location - central to West LA, Hollywood, Beverly Hills, etc. However, it was very disappointing to arrive to an unclean home. We alerted Sophie to the situation, and she was responsive, sending someone to clean the very next day. She also apologized. If you're expecting a fifth bedroom, as we were, you should know that that it is outside and not accessible from inside the main house. While there is a bed in this outside room, the room is not aesthetically pleasing - it's almost like a storage room. Lastly, the refrigerator broke down mid-way through our vacation, so we lost some food. Fortunately, they have another refrigerator and freezer in a backup kitchen adjacent to the main kitchen. Sophie didn't send a repairman while we were there because she says she didn't want to disturb us. All-in-all we had a good stay in Sophie and Craig's home. But it could have been so much better had we arrived to a clean home from the start.
It was an absolute pleasure staying at Craig and Sophie's house in the Hollywood Hills. They were great hosts, and I can't recommend this house highly enough! It's the perfect place to spend a week in LA.
The reservation was canceled the day of arrival. This is an automated posting.
Craig and Sophie where very helpfull. Our filming crew had the chance to live in this beautifull place. We needed 5 private bedrooms and everybody where happy with it except for the beds. It's very well situated. Thank you for evrything! We'll maybe see you next year!
