About This Listing
THE ROOM and bathroom are the top floor of my home. This makes for a very private stay that will feel like your own space. My bedroom has a very comfortable mattress for the queen size bed, a desk, chair, and a view of lively trees. High speed Wi-Fi and clean bath towels are provided.
THE REST OF THE HOUSE is very quiet with a living room on the first floor. The Kitchen has everything you probably need during your visit, stove, fridge, dishwasher, plenty of glasses and plates, etc.
ME: I love being a host. I love meeting new people which is why I am an activist and have been working for non-profits for over 12 years. Meeting new people from across the world has been wonderful. I adore Philadelphia, and look forward to you enjoying it too.
MY NEIGHBORHOOD has coffee shops, local bars, great food, and mini supermarket for groceries or fresh fruit are all within a few blocks. Check my guidebook for details.
I am a short walk to Rittenhouse Square which has a large beautiful park.
GETTING AROUND is easy. The reliable bus #12 has a stop 2 minutes walking distance from the house and takes you along locust street to Center City, The Convention Center or Old City. There is buses 7, and 17 just four minutes away. A taxi to city hall will be about $9.
PARKING during the day here is easy with FREE street parking usually found on my block. At night I generally need to park only a block or two away (which for my location is excellent).

Tommy's place was a great spot from which to visit the many pleasures of Philadelphia. We walked everywhere. Tommy is extremely friendly and considerate. The 3rd fl. is spacious, private, comfortable and peaceful. The process of checking in and out is quite easy.
Tommy made the check-in process extremely convenient for my parents. We arrived at his place at a less-than-ideal time, but Tommy made sure that we had everything we'd need once we entered the house (including an introductory letter to help get settled, subway/bus tokens, and water bottles). Everything is accurately portrayed in the listing.
Located on the third floor of the house, the bedroom itself was very clean, neatly-decorated, and well-lit. Also, the bed itself was a comfortable memory foam mattress. In the bathroom (which was quite spacious, clean, and well-lit), everything and anything that might be needed was supplied. The water pressure in the shower was a little weak, but it did not disturb the overall comfort of the stay. As Tommy says, the stay is very private since your bathroom and bedroom are the only two rooms on the third floor.
In the kitchen, Tommy provided juice and water. Overall, the place is very clean and well-organized. The neighborhood is generally quiet and was safe during our stay.
Tommy was a wonderful host. Every need was thought about! Bathroom stocked with supplies of everything one might need while traveling, info booklets on the table, water and juice in the fridge, he even gave us tokens to use on the bus!
The room is tastefully decorated and very comfortable. Bed is awesome with a memory foam mattress (it's better than at home to be honest!). Neighborhood is quite and windows face a nice patch of trees. We slept like babies!
Overall great experience!
The room is clean and comfortable with s nice spacious bathroom. The neighborhood is vibrant and has some nice, hip coffee shops and restaurants. Tommy made me feel comfortable and welcome immediately. He offered useful information about the surroundings and transportation. Highly recommend this place. Tommy left us a personalized letter with helpful information about bus schedules, bus tokens, local restaurants and sights to see close to his home. He also provided a medicine cabinet filled with items that may have been forgotten at home! His house was very clean and well kept And very accessible to all the sights. We felt right at home and will definitely stay with him again if we are ever in Philly.
Photos were accurate and place was nice to stay at. If only I had more time to stay and explore Philly. Thanks Tommy.
Tommy's apartment was serene, quiet, and comfortable. The location is central and walkable to Penn and Center City, and while I didn't take public transportation, there are a number of buses that service the neighborhood. It's also a super cute and safe neighborhood with some great coffee shops and restaurants. Tommy was a thoughtful and welcoming host and my boyfriend and I really appreciated the water and fresh fruit as a convenience during our busy days. I don't think you could pick a better place to stay in Philly for the value!

About the Host, Tommy
I am a 35 year old guy who works hard and laughs harder. For 14 years I have been working/living in Philadelphia and loving it! I grew up in Philly's suburbs and moved here as soon as I could. For work I have two jobs I love. Full-time I conduct HIV Testing sessions and I am the volunteer coordinator for Philadelphia's Latino LGBT organization. Part-time I work with a group of high school students teaching them Philanthropy. Basically, the young people spend 5 months learning how to make grants totaling $50,000 which they grant to organizations serving Philadelphia youth. It's amazing and certainly never dull.
I care a lot about people which is why I have worked in the non-profit sector for 14 years. I also have been volunteering with various projects. My dad worked 3 jobs to support our family growing up which taught me the value of hard work. In my spare time I go out to eat and relax with my friends, explore the city or am in the suburbs with my parents.
I have been hosting with AirBNB for almost 3 years now. I love hearing guests stories of what brings them to town and look forward to sharing my home and welcoming you to Philadelphia.

I LOVE going to sit in the park. Lot of people come here to have sit and eat with friends, do yoga, children playing with families, and walking dogs. Often there are performers playing music as well.Philadelphia PA
