Shelter House is a custom contemporary home located at Arch Cape Beach. As seen in Luxe and Portrait Magazines, this stylish designer crafted home is one of a kind. Shelter House is the Oregon beach retreat you have been waiting for. No expense was spared when designing and furnishing this luxurious beachfront home in coveted Arch Cape.
The House has 3 full en-suite bedrooms plus a sleeping loft/office and a powder room. Shelter House is right on the beach.
The space
Our first official review is in: “This place is amazing! The location was beyond stunning!!! The beach there is magical and quiet with very little traffic. The home is everything you would hope for when looking at the photos online. Every detail is thought of in the house and it’s amazingly homey and comfortable. They have thought of all the little details to make it feel special too (bedding, towels, soaps, dishes, cookware, etc…). Kari was super helpful the whole way through and quick to respond to any questions. Can’t recommend this place enough. Thank you for your amazing hospitality!”

Shelter House is a house like no other. As you enter through the giant pivot front door, you are immediately enveloped in warmth and light, from the heated concrete floors to the cedar surrounds, and the expansive views of Arch Cape beach and the Pacific Ocean, you will be immersed in the peace and tranquility of the north Oregon Coast.
Guest access
You will have the entire 2600 square foot house to yourselves. There is a lift/elevator that is accessed through the one-car garage. Perfect for anyone who can't do stairs, or just for bringing in groceries or belongings, the lift drops you right in the laundry room and other than the loft, the house is all one level.
Other things to note
We welcome your fur babies, with advance notice. Two dogs maximum, please. We have stopped allowing events at Shelter House. We did not build this house as a rental or with the intention of renting it. Shelter House is filled with personal treasures and art collected on our travels. The house is very special and we hope you enjoy this magical place as much as we do.

Neighborhood highlights
Shelter House is located near the center of Arch Cape Beach on Pacific Road, just off W Ocean Lane. The arch at Arch Cape is south of the house along the beach approximately 1/2 mile. Hug Point is walkable from the house and is approximately a one mile walk. At low tide, you can walk all the way to Cannon Beach by way of hug point. It's about 4 miles away. There is also plenty of hiking in Arch Cape and very near both north and south off Hwy. 101.

We’re 50 somethings (oh, wait, we both turned 60 a bit ago, oh my!) who love to travel the world. We especially love the beach. Tropical or stormy, it matters not. We’re tidy and respectful as we have two airbnbs of our own. One in Arch Cape, OR and one in Ojai, CA.
