Quaint and cosy room in south delhi

House - Private room · New Delhi, Delhi, India

The Space

Its a single bedroom with a common bathroom, which is not attached to the room, but easily accessible. The bathroom is fully equipped with all modern amenities like geyser (for hot water) and shower and a western toilet. The room is tiny but compact. There is enough storage/cupboard space available. It has an airconditioner. There is wi-fi in the house. Since my house is in the ground floor, I also have a small garden in the front, and a small one at the back, which is a pleasure.
My house is located very close to the outer ring road, so accessibility is easy. In 2 minutes you can access the main road, the closest market and now even a cinema hall. Living in South Delhi is definitely an advantage. The nearest metro station is Nehru Place which is about 15-20 minutes walk from my house or just 5 minutes by an autorickshaw.
I live in Chittaranjan Park, which is surrounded by posh localities like Greater Kailash part 1 and 2 where there are many nice restaurants and Greater Kailash part 1 is a great place for shopping too.
I provide food, mainly breakfast and dinner. But if you want to use the kitchen to cook up something you are welcome. The living room is the common area where we all meet up to eat dinner together. The TV is also there in case you want to watch a special program or just acquaint yourself with Indian channels.
Laundry is also provided for.
I have been hosting international students for a few years now, and have made many friends all over the world.

  • My 10 day stay at Suparna's was comfortable and peaceful. In a quiet neighborhood, her apartment is nonetheless very well located - close to many businesses, and a short auto rickshaw ride away from the yellow line.

Suparna was helpful and a very considerate host. A plus was the delicious dinners she offered.

  • Suparna is a great host! The house is in a fairly quiet location close to the metro and several markets. Breakfast and dinner with other housemates made things very homey and conversational. I would definitely recommend Suparna's to anyone visiting Delhi.

  • Suparna (and her adorable Dashund) took very good care of me when I was staying at her place for 3 nights. Met other great guests at the house. Got to participate in the festivities of Durga Puja in her neighborhood. Had a great experience!

  • i was in Delhi for six weeks and consider myself so lucky to have lived with Suparna, Mana and Zorro. I many ways itnwas the highlight and centrepiece of my stay. Suparna is so emotionally intelligent, accommodating and interesting a person. Completely adaptable and a lovely house in a great neighbourhood. Helpful on every point. I was unfortunate enough to develop dengue in Delhi and I can't imagine how tough it would have been without Suparna. She just tok it in her stride and ensured that I received the best of care. I'm an eternally grateful admirer.. Andrew P.

  • I had a wonderful stay in Suparna's home. It is comfortable, clean, warm and easily accessible. She was great help in assisting with taxis, and train inquiries, and was the consummate hostess. I will recommend her rooms to other friends traveling to Delhi.

I am a friendly and easy going person. I love doing yoga, and have been practicing it for many years now. I have been hosting students from all over the world for a few years now. I love meeting people from different cultures and background and exchanging information. I love travelling, and hope to travel all over the world one day. I am interested in cooking, and food. I love to try out different kinds of food, Indian or otherwise. I enjoy reading and also watching movies. Its me, my teenage son and our dog (a daschund) who live in this house. Zorro always welcomes our guests first (till you enter the house) with a bark and then on wards he is only wagging his tail. He, too, like us loves having people over.
