Fitzroy is a great location - it's friendly, vibrant and easy to get around. My interests include cinema, sailing, travel and people. I'm sociable and value the space I've created where you'll be made to feel very welcome.
Guests are welcome to use the kitchen, loungeroom and outside spaces - ultimately, your privacy is always respected.
Interaction with Guests
I always aim to meet guests on arrival and at a time that suits them. Generally, I tend to be at work Mon-Fri. There will be times guests will have the entire house to themselves.
Wide streets, local gardens and access to cafes and shops make Fitzroy one of the best locations in Melbourne. Walking is the way to best explore the neighbourhood.
Public transport is 50 metres from the property. A parking permit is available if you have a car.
Option 1: From the Southern Cross station catch tram no.112 from Collins St. and alight at Hanover Street stop on Brunswick St. Walk for 30 metres then turn left into King William Street. No 68 is on your left.
Option 2: Take tram no.96 from Bourke Street (slightly closer to Southern Cross Station) and alight at Melbourne Museum on Nicholson Street. Walk across the road to King William Street which is about 25 metres north of the tram stop. Stay on the right side, walk for 100 metres and you're at no 68 King William Street.
Your own set of keys will be provided for the duration of your stay. Check-in is after 4.00 pm and Check-out is 11.00am but times are flexible. A strict no-candle rule applies. Smoking permitted outside only. No additional guests without prior negotiation.
The house is located in a great area in Melbourne (easy access with the airbus and than tram). Lots of cosy bars, lunch- and dining places, bakeries, shops, etc. The room is just excellent: good bed, walk-in closet, a very spacious (shared) bathroom. There's a nice terrace and also a front porch to relax. Frances and Nelson (the pet dog) were the perfect hosts, really kind and helpfull. Thank you again Frances for your hospitality and kindness!
This is the second time that we have stayed with Frances. Beautiful house, great position, comfortable bed and gracious host.
I loved staying with Frances. Her home is very close to transport, and the great cafes and shops on Brunswick Street. She is very hospitable and welcoming and made me feel very much at home.
The bedroom is large with a very comfortable bed and walk-in wardrobe and is very clean and tidy. Frances has a lovely kitchen where I was free to make meals and a sitting room with an outlook out on a lovely garden.
Frances gave me great directions to get to the house and made suggestions for where to buy food along with recommendations for cafes. She has travelled extensively so we had much in common to talk about.
I would certainly enjoy staying with Frances again.
France has a lovely home, in a great location - I had a most pleasant stay. She was a great host: lots of useful tips and guidance for the area, and friendly conversation. I felt right at home for my few days in a new city; couldn't recommend her place more.
The house was a lovely peaceful place, Frances was helpful and welcoming, as well as unobtrusive. The room is up steep stairs, but once there the room is quiet and the bed comfortable. The bathroom is huge and we treated ourselves to a bath one day. We would be happy to stay there again.
Big thanks and warm regards to Frances for making us feel welcome. She has a warm, loving and thoughtful personality that made us feel at home straight away.
