I had a wonderful stay at Kalinga's place. The room is clean and the house is surrounded by nature. It's close to everything and it was really easy to move around the area with bus or tuk tuk. Kalinga was very kind and helpful with tips and additional services.
Dear Affyf, I am pleased that you enjoyed the short stay at my BnB. It was a pleasure hosting you and thank you for the gifts, unique from Maldives.
looking forward to host you during your future visits to Sri Lanka. We hope to stay with your bnb during my next business trips to Maldives
Hosts were very friendly and pleasant upon arrival but after settling in, they gave me my privacy, but were on hand for questions or assistance. The neighborhood is in a good location to access much of the interesting areas of Colombo, if one is staying for awhile, but might be a little out of the way if a first-time traveler to Lanka, or just staying a couple nights.
The room is nice size and has all the amenities needed, including AC and a nicely-outfitted bathroom with tub and separate shower. The kitchen area with kettle and light breakfast provisions has a good size refrigerator which can be used for additional personal food items, as well as a microwave oven.
The only drawback is that on one side of the house is a hospital and their generators, which run most of the day can be quiet noisy if you are at home. If you expect to be out most of the time, I don't think it would be a consideration. Other than this, this rental was an economical comfortable place for my longer stay and I feel I added more friends!
Kalinga is very kind. When I caught cold, he took me to the hospital by his car. I also have back pein. He introduce special doctor.
I have pain on the back for many years.I told him about it, he took me to nice ayurvada (website hidden) works very well.
The owner was absence but his sister and servant was so kindful.
They help everything. I got a SriLanka's special new year (website hidden) was good.
There is good location. You can go most place Rs100〜200 by (website hidden) central station is Rs300.
I stayed for a month. Very nice hosts! whenever I needed help with anything they did everything to make it happen!

About the Host, Kalinga
I am a South African of Sri Lankan origin and worked oversees for over 3 decades. My wife is an ex-UN Official retired from active service at the World Health Organisation in Pretoria South Africa. She serves the Additional Secretary General of AFICS Association of Former International Civil Servants. We ourselves loved the B&B concept as a great opportunity to meet people from other countries & cultures. We love the opportunity to host people in our quiet secure house with large garden and access to all facilities that you expect in a star class hotel accommodation.
We spend our retirement on social and cultural activities to uplift the poor sections of the society. I do assignments for the World Bank, UNDP, DFID, DANIDA etc on Climate Resilient Infrastructure Development on the provision of Water, Sanitation & Poverty Alleviation.
My wife likes painting and writing short stories. Her first book has come out of the print this week on the plight of women in Asia and Africa. She is in the process of finalising the draft of the 2nd book. We are very enthusiastic travellers and have visited many parts of the world. We have an office adjacent to the house and limited office facilities and Secretarial services can be made available, if required, for an additional fee.
We will be delighted to host you 'home away from home' We can arrange tailor made tours to suit your requirements and will be delighted to arrange pick up on arrival at the airport and drop you to catch your flight on time. All Internet checking in and boarding passes can be arranged for you at home. We also can arrange tours to Africa & Australia through our trusted agents
We love travelling globally and as well as locally and enjoy walking. & jogging, meeting friends , social and voluntary work to support disadvantaged sector of the society and my wife likes writing books and of course shopping. We like Airbnb hosting and to provide the hosts a home away from home.
We like interactions with hosts to share our experiences with different cultural & religious backgrounds and entertain them, take them to our Otters club for swimming, tennis, badminton and social interactions. I love yoga and meditation and practice almost daily at independence square .
Our life motto is to enjoy the life to the fullest and support less previledged sector of our society wherever possible
