  • We were somewhat surprised when Christo told us to come up to introduced ourselves. It turned out to be a very nice and friendly surprise, he and some other guests were having a little grilling dinner/ party and we were invited. We had great conversations and the food were great. The guests were not too fond of Christo's choice of music, but we had a good laugh for it. The room was clean, people were super friendly and Avon is just a beautiful place. Overall, Christo is funny and friendly. I would recommend you guys to stay at his place and enjoy his hospitality.

  • We had a great stay at Christos apartment. There are huge rooms and you can decide wether to have a lot of privacy in a 2 person bedroom or take a 4 person bedroom.
In addition the appartment has a tremendous living room with a kitchen included.
Christo is also a very nice host who helps you with recommendations and gives you local tips if you need them.

    Altogether highly recommended!

  • Great set up. Huge house with multiple rooms. You share the very large kitchen and living room with all the guests. It felt like a hostel from my past travels.
Not the best choice for a romantic weekend but you meet great people who are very enthusiastic about their sport and the ocean.
    Thanks Hristo and Graham!

  • We felt at home immediately and joined our two weeks stay very much. It was a very nice, uncomplicated atmosphere. We met great people and Hristo and Melissa took good care of us. We will definitely go back and we will recommend this place to our friends.

  • Really good place to stay - clean & tidy with communal kitchen & living area. Geographically close to the center of town but it doesn't feel that way as the house is down a quiet road. Does mean that it is still easy to get to local restaurants. The house was 'supervised' by one of the kiteboard instructors, Graham, who occupied one of the adjacent bedrooms. Great guy - on arrival he set out the house rules ("use outside shower so you don't bring all the sand into the house") and then unobtrusively he made sure that everyone kept the place clean & tidy. He also knows the local venues to eat as well as all of the kiteboarding sites - wealth of knowledge.
I recommend this place & would willingly stay here again on the next visit.

  • My boyfriend and I came up to the Outer Banks for a friend's wedding and stayed here. Our accommodations were wonderful and everyone was very friendly. The property is also centrally located. I'd definitely recommend Christo's place!

  • Stayed here for a kitesurfing trip. Great location, centrally located to all of the kitesurfing spots. Place was very clean and Christo was a nice guy and a good host.

  • Had a wonderful time exploring the islands, meeting new people and just sitting quietly on the deck watching the sunrise against the waters. Would come back again and maybe next time bring some wind:(

  • My husband and I had a very nice and relaxing week at Christo's place. One major hightlight was the use of the large kitchen where we made some fantastic meals. We joined Christo and Melissa for a fresh seafood meal one night and amazing fajitas another. It was so nice meeting our new friends. I would definitely reccomend Christo's space. He is friendly and happy to help you find what you need around town.

Christo has been kiteboarding for over nine years. He has ridden and taught in the US (North Carolina and California) – as well as in some great spots around the world, including Bulgaria, Spain, Dominican Republic, Panama, Mexico and Peru – but he will be the first to reassure you that the best wind for kiteboarding is at Cape Hatteras. This is why he started thinking about opening a kiteboarding school on the island as far back as 2008, and has now set up Kite Club Hatteras as an official school in Cape Hatteras. Christo has a proven record of taking students to the best and safest spots on the island and providing them with a complete kiteboarding learning experience, taking beginners from the basics to becoming independent riders. Christo was a self-taught rider and uses his personal learning experience alongside his professional training to decrease your learning curve and increase your fun.
