Top-floor, TWO-BEDROOM apartment in an Edwardian building right in the heart of Dublin city's old historic centre.
It has unique won't-find-anywhere-else views of Dublin Castle and City Hall, two of Dublin's most iconic historic landmarks. The building is on Dame Street in Dublin 2, and is just a couple of minutes (or less) walk from all of Dublin's historic, cultural, social and tourist attractions.
The apartment is full of history, tradition and character. It occupies the top floor of an old Edwardian building, located midway along Dame Street, which links Trinity College to Christ Church Cathedral.
As well as views over Dublin Castle and Dublin City Hall from the living room and one bedroom, the other bedroom looks west towards Christ Church Cathedral. Where else would you get it?
The apartment has been completely renovated in recent years (so has all the modern conveniences you could want, including fast WiFi internet connection, central heating, an electric shower and a fully-fitted kitchen), its original period features have been preserved (including solid oak wood flooring in the living room and bedrooms, granite stone flooring and a wonderful Belfast sink in the kitchen, and large sash windows in every room).
It has two bedrooms (one with a double bed, the other with two single beds), a decent-sized living room with a kitchen off and a bathroom.
Every room has large sash windows characteristic of the Edwardian era (early 1900s), so the apartment is full of natural light (if you're lucky, sunshine too!) from early in the morning until late in the evening.
Everything you might need (bed linen, towels and kitchen items) is provided, as well as a small library of books on Dublin. Free 30Mb Wifi.
You have access to everything and everywhere - it's all yours.

Other things to note
Standard check-in is at any arranged time between 3pm and 9pm. Because I can't personally do a check-in after 9pm, check-ins after 9pm are subject to a €50 fee to cover the cost of paying someone to meet you.
Standard check-out is before 10am on the day of departure.
If you're arriving into Dublin very early in the morning or departing late in the day, please consider the 3pm check-in time/10am check-out time before booking.
Unfortunately, there is no luggage storage facility in the building. For those who need to store luggage before check-in or after check-out, I recommend Tourist Office Dublin (almost directly opp. the Front Gate of Trinity College Dublin at 37 College Green, Dublin 2, which is a 2 minute walk from the apartment). They'll store luggage here in a secure lock-up for a small fee.
Please also consider that this apartment is in the very heart of Dublin City. Genuinely, its location can't be exaggerated - you won't find a better located listing on Airbnb. There are hundreds of positives to this, but there a couple of negatives too: for one, there is no parking in the building (but if you're likely to need parking, let me know and I'll tell you the various options). Also, you have to expect that such a central location won't be exactly tranquil - there'll be the usual 'sounds of the city' and there's nothing anyone can do about it, I'm afraid! If this is likely to be an issue for you, let's talk about it before you book.
This is a residential building so please be considerate and respectful towards neighbours - this includes all the usual stuff but particularly noise, especially in common areas (entrance, stairs, hallway etc) between 10pm-8am).
Please don't smoke - neither in the apartment itself nor anywhere else in the building. Hanging out a window isn't an acceptable solution, I'm afraid. The only option is to exit the building and smoke on the street.
Please don't do anything that could or might cause damage, injury or anything like that. If you break or damage something, please tell me (I do like surprises, but not that kind).
Please don't bring anyone - whether known to you or not - into the apartment without first clearing it with me. Only guests named on the original reservation can stay in the apartment.
Please be aware of the check-in (3-9pm) and check-out (10am) times. It will usually be possible to facilitate a late check-in (after 9pm) but this will be subject to an additional fee of €50, unfortunately. Please confirm whether it's possible before booking.
The apartment can accommodate up to five people when the guest group is comprised of couples or a family. Where the guest group is comprised of single friends, the maximum occupancy is 3. Bookings from groups of 4 or 5 friends/individuals are not permitted. Any bookings of this nature will, unfortunately, be cancelled.
While it's not necessary to have a government-issued ID uploaded to your profile when booking the apartment, this must be done (and must appear on your profile) after confirmation. Without this on your profile, I reserve the right to cancel.
Cancel up to 7 days before your trip and get a 50% refund. Cancel within 7 days of your trip and the reservation is non-refundable.

A native Dubliner back living in Dublin after stints in New York, London and the West of Ireland. Fond of travelling but always happy to get back to Dublin. The apartment I have listed is right in the very centre of Dublin City - very genuinely, it couldn't be any more central; the centre of the centre, if you like.
