A historic yet comfortable home in the desirable Five Points/Hayes-Barton area of Raleigh, lined with oak trees and sidewalks. The neighborhood is full of classic Craftsman bungalows and lovingly-landscaped family homes. It's a great location for everything in Raleigh. We are only two blocks from an art-house cinema, world-class shrimp and grits at Nofo at The Pig, specialty pizzas at Lily's, a Post Office, an old-fashioned soda fountain and pharmacy, antique stores, baby consignment shops and more. There is a park and children's playground 1 block away. It's ~1 mile to Glenwood South, and only 2-3 miles to downtown Raleigh, Cameron Village and NC State. Only 15 minutes to RDU Airport and Research Triangle Park (RTP), and also convenient to public transportation.
The home is very comfortable and professionally decorated. Formal living and dining rooms, complemented by casual den (with 50" flat screen TV with cable, Xbox, DVD and wood-burning fireplace) and a great kitchen (granite countertops, gas stove, double oven, new fridge, etc.) and Butler’s Pantry. Second floor Master bedroom has king bed, Juliet balcony opening to landscaped backyard, large walk-in closet, Jacuzzi bath and enormous shower with rain head. First floor bedroom has queen bed and a private full bath. There is room for 1-2 more on a comfortable full-size futon on the second-floor landing. We also have a beautiful nursery for those with little ones (and the home has been child-proofed by a professional). The first floor has hardwood floors and persian rugs throughout, and the second has Sea Grass carpeting.
The yard has been landscaped and well-maintained. The back yard in extremely private, framed by beautiful trees and flowers, and has a patio with seating for 5 and a large umbrella, as well as a gas grill. You can park on our quiet street or in the new stone driveway. Our home is equipped with a state of the art security/home automation system, which allows for keyless entry, and wireless, secure internet network is also included.
You will be very comfortable in our home, with it's classic look and modern conveniences within. We have listed it for times when it would be available for your exclusive use, so you have the run of the house (no one else will be sharing). Let us know if you have any questions. Thank you for looking, and we hope to see you in Raleigh!
Our guests have access to the entire home. Our place is your place!
Guests have the place to themselves; we will not be there during your stay. Our typical interaction is messaging during the booking process and that's it! Given our state of the art security system, we don't even need to be there to hand off keys, so you have the run of the place from arrival to departure.
It's a charming area with tree-lined streets and parks, shops & restaurants to walk to. Hayes-Barton is one of the most historic parts of Raleigh, with most homes 70-100+ years old.
We are in a walkable area, but public transportation is close by and downtown Raleigh is literally only minutes away by car. The airport is also close, 15 minutes by car. There is parking on the driveway and in the street at the house.
Our family had a great weekend stay at the Earabino's. The location was perfect for us. We visited our new grandchild and our niece visited NC State. The downstairs bedroom was convenient for my 88 year old mother. Hope we will be back!

I stayed at Kevin and Hadley's place for a weekend with a large group of graduate students. The house is lovely and has a lot of great amenities for a group: a nice kitchen and plenty of bedrooms, bathrooms, and hangout space. It's also quite beautiful, with older details and a lot of nice art. The hosts were easy-going and very accommodating; checkin and checkout were particularly simple with their passcode system. I would stay there again!
We had a great time at Kevin & Hadley's Bungalow. Everything was as advertised, my family enjoyed our visit very much. I would definitely stay here again.
Great home, warm, inviting, kid friendly and in a good location. I hosted Thanksgiving dinner for 14 this year and there was plenty of supplies, dishes and pots. With the addition of some folding tables, the dining room was great for our group, including the use of a highchair. Kevin was very gracious and informative regarding every aspect of the home.
We stayed in Kevin & Hadley's Raleigh house for my daughter's wedding. We could not have asked for a better house and location - it was close to downtown with its fabulous restaurants and the wedding venue. The house was very well furnished and had all the amenities to make our stay comfortable. It was truly a home away from home for that one week we stayed here.
My wife and I spent the week with our two kids (under 3) at Kevin & Hadleys fabulous ITB Raleigh home and were blown away! The house was immaculately well kept and everything was as described in their airbnb profile. The house was kid friendly and the kids made full use of the toys left out for them. The security system made us feel safe in an already safe area, and the house guide had all the details we needed to make the stay perfect. Great communication from start to finish with the owners. We highly recommend the house to anyone looking for a great experience!
This was my first airbnb experience and it couldn't have been better. The house was deceptively bigger than you would expect! The accommodations were out of this world!! The upstairs bathroom was something out of MTV cribs. Overall, I am happy I got to stay at the home. I am officially an airbnb member for life!!!
A very nice home! I stayed here with several other friends for the annual trip we take together. The house was very comfortable, spacious, in a nice location, and well equipped (the exception was that we could used more paper towels and toilet paper). We especially liked the kitchen where we were able to cook a nice breakfast. The house guide is also very thoughtful and useful. Due to our own fault, we set the alarm off at 1:00am and had to call Kevin who was very gracious in his response. I would definitely consider staying here again if I'm ever in the Raleigh area again.
Thanks for allowing our family to stay in your beautiful home. The home accommodated the four of us nicely. Wish we could have stayed longer...so much to do in Raleigh. Easy access to downtown and a very walkable neighborhood. Next time we are in Raleigh we will definitely stay in your home. Thanks again, The Mcgill family July 2013
Thanks for the kudos, McGill family! We're glad you had a great time in the neighborhood and out and about. Being so close to Raleigh's great spots is one of the reasons we love our Morrison Ave so much. Please let us know when you're back in town and we'll save you a spot...
Really beautiful and comfortable home!
Truly luxurious and close to many attractions and restaurants.
Our only issue was the that XBOX wasn't there (it was in need of repairs) and the hosts hadn't warned us (we would have brought our own because one thing our group of friends loves to do is play rockband and we'd already hauled the guitars, microphones and games!)
Rossie, we're so sorry we didn't let you know about the XBox...our mistake. It happened right before you arrived, and we should have made you aware. We'd like to make it right, so let us know what we can do. We're glad you enjoyed the home otherwise, and we'd love to have you visit with us again, if you have the opportunity.
