About This Listing
Our historic home is comfortable, elegant and well-appointed for families & groups. You'll find 1930's charm with modern conveniences. Located on a tree-lined street in Five Points, you can walk to restaurants, shops and parks. Everything is nearby!
A historic yet comfortable home in the desirable Five Points/Hayes-Barton area of Raleigh, lined with oak trees and sidewalks. The neighborhood is full of classic Craftsman bungalows and lovingly-landscaped family homes. It's a great location for everything in Raleigh. We are only two blocks from an art-house cinema, world-class shrimp and grits at Nofo at The Pig, specialty pizzas at Lily's, a Post Office, an old-fashioned soda fountain and pharmacy, antique stores, baby consignment shops and more. There is a park and children's playground 1 block away. It's ~1 mile to Glenwood South, and only 2-3 miles to downtown Raleigh, Cameron Village and NC State. Only 15 minutes to RDU Airport and Research Triangle Park (RTP), and also convenient to public transportation.
The home is very comfortable and professionally decorated. Formal living and dining rooms, complemented by casual den (with 50" flat screen TV with cable, Xbox, DVD, (website hidden) Chromecast and wood-burning fireplace) and a great kitchen (granite countertops, gas stove, double oven, new fridge, etc.) and Butler’s Pantry. Second floor Master bedroom has king bed, Juliet balcony opening to landscaped backyard, large walk-in closet, Jacuzzi bath and enormous shower with rain head. First floor bedroom has queen bed and a private full bath. There is room for 1-2 more on a comfortable full-size futon on the second-floor landing (cozy but no door). We also have a beautiful nursery for those with little ones (and the home has been child-proofed by a professional). The first floor has hardwood floors and persian rugs throughout, and the second has Sea Grass carpeting.
The yard has been landscaped and well-maintained. The back yard in extremely private, framed by beautiful trees and flowers, and has a patio with seating for 5 and a large umbrella, as well as a gas grill. You can park on our quiet street or in the new stone driveway. Our home is equipped with a state of the art security/home automation system, which allows for keyless entry, and wireless, secure internet network is also included.
You will be very comfortable in our home, with it's classic look and modern conveniences within. We have listed it for times when it would be available for your exclusive use, so you have the run of the house (no one else will be sharing). Let us know if you have any questions. Thank you for looking, and we hope to see you in Raleigh!
Our guests have access to the entire home. Our place is your place!
Interaction with Guests
Guests have the place to themselves; we will not be there during your stay. Our typical interaction is messaging during the booking process and that's it! Given our state of the art security system, we don't even need to be there to hand off keys, so you have the run of the place from arrival to departure.
It's a charming area with tree-lined streets and parks, shops & restaurants to walk to. Hayes-Barton is one of the most historic parts of Raleigh, with most homes 70-100+ years old.
We are in a walkable area, but public transportation is close by and downtown Raleigh is literally only minutes away by car. The airport is also close, 15 minutes by car. There is parking on the driveway and in the street at the house.
We live in a beautiful home on a quiet, historic street. Therefore, we have a few rules to preserve the quality of the home and to be considerate of our neighbors. There are no parties allowed (considered gathering of more than 10 people) without express permission; home is for the use of the guests only. There is a maximum of 2 vehicles allowed, unless otherwise arranged prior to stay.
We do not allow pets, unless we have provided explicit consent prior to booking. If you want us to consider allowing your pet, please let us know on your initial inquiry. In the cases where we agree, there will be an additional cleaning fee to ensure our families pet allergies are not impacted.
Thanks for helping us keep our home special!
Great Hosts, wonderful home, beautiful neighborhood, a great stay while in Raleigh.
Beautiful home with a lot of space. Light on towels and soap, but that was a small issue quickly alleviated by the other great amenities and location.
Hosts were very communicative and instructions were clear.
We're so glad you enjoyed the home and neighborhood. And thanks for the compliments on our communication - we work hard to make this an easy and memorable process for our guests. I'll speak to our housekeeping crew about the towels and soap, as we usually have plenty out, so that our guests can just show and enjoy! Thanks again for choosing to stay with us!
Kevin & Hadley
We had a wonderful time staying at Kevin and Hadley's bungalow in the Five Points area of Raleigh. The home was extremely comfortable and located in a charming neighborhood. The home had a generous amount of space for all 6 of us ladies to have a great getaway for the weekend.
The house was very nice and ready for us. Tons of space and very pretty. We were centrally located to all of our visits and excursions.
Great neighborhood, great location and beautiful house. Kevin and Hadley made it easy to get there and easy to get in once we arrived. The house was used to accommodate bridesmaids that were coming to Raleigh for our daughter's wedding. There was plenty of room for them and they loved being together.
