The space
The Baby Yurt is truly a magical space to stay in, providing an enchanting experience that transports you to a world of tranquil charm and serene comfort. This magical, circular cocoon envelops you in a cozy embrace, housing a comfortable full-size futon bed that promises restful sleep.

Within this yurt, you'll find an electric tea kettle and a toaster oven, perfect for preparing simple meals or enjoying a warm cup of tea or coffee on a peaceful morning. Coffee and tea are thoughtfully provided to start your day right. However, it is important to note that there is no refrigerator, so most guests come prepared by bringing a cooler to keep their perishables fresh during their stay.

Moreover, it’s essential to be aware that there is no bathroom facility inside the Baby Yurt. Guests instead have access to outdoor composting toilets and outdoor showers which are located a short, scenic walk away, allowing you to connect more closely with nature.
Behind the shower shed, you’ll discover a rustic outdoor kitchen equipped with a charcoal grill and a sink, giving you the opportunity to prepare meals al fresco while basking in the natural surroundings.

The Baby Yurt experience is enriched further by the various amenities and attractions on the property. For those seeking tranquility and reflection, there is a meditation labyrinth where you can wander and find inner peace. Hikers and nature enthusiasts will delight in the numerous hiking trails that wind through the landscape, inviting you to explore and immerse yourself in the beauty of the outdoors. Additionally, there is a vortex on-site, adding a mystical element to your stay and offering a unique space where guests can unwind and rejuvenate their spirit.

Guests staying in the Baby Yurt have access to the outdoor hot showers and composting toilets located in the Shower Shed. From the Baby Yurt, turn left and follow the trail as it curves around to the left. It's just a short walk to the shower and restroom facilities.

For your convenience, the path is illuminated at night, making it easy to find your way. There is also a light switch on the outside of the Shower Shed that you can turn on before entering.

Just behind the Shower Shed, you'll find a simple outdoor kitchen area equipped with a grill and sink, and a table for 2 to enjoy dining in the fresh air.

We are situated on a serene eleven-acre property, providing plenty of space to relax and enjoy your surroundings.

During your stay, you will have full access to all shared outdoor spaces including the labyrinth, the energy vortex, the fire pits, and the hiking trails.
However, please note that if there is a retreat group renting half of the property, some shared spaces may be reserved for their exclusive use during their stay. Regardless, there's always plenty of room to explore and find your own peaceful spot.

Other things to note
PET FRIENDLY: I have a small terrier named Murphy that lives on the land and he will definitely stop by to visit. I also have a beautiful Mainecoon cat named Zen Kitty that you may see outside. Well behaved pets are allowed. We have a $25 pet fee per pet per stay. The pet fee is payable with cash upon arrival or through Airbnb.

NOTE: WE DO NOT HAVE WI-FI AT THE BABY YURT, BUT WE DO HAVE EXCELLENT CELL PHONE SERVICE (WITH THE EXCEPTION OF T-MOBILE)!!!

I grew up in Columbia, SC, graduated from Clemson University, lived in the DC area for 2 years, traveled in Europe for a year, and then settled in Portland, OR for 22 years.
