Nicely decorated cozy studio in the most romantic place of Paris - Montmartre. Next to metro Abbesses on the calm street rue Berthe. Only 300 metres far from the basilic Sacré Coeure.

The Space

Arrangement studio of 16 m². Located on the ground floor in the building of 19th centuary. It comprises a lounge with a kitchen. In the lounge you will find a folding table with chairs, convertible sofa and built-in wardrobe. There are also LCD TV / microwave/coffee machine/kettle/toaster/fridge/
dishes/iron with an iron table/hair dryer. Nicely decorated bathroom includes shower cubicle, sink, toilet and a mirror. Please, be sure that you are close enough to your friend/partner because there is no real door in the bathroom, there is a curtaine. But for anycase there is another toilet in the building. Convertible sofa is provided with a comfortable mattress. The kitchen and the bathroom are modern. Cable TV, highspeed Wifi, International callings are included in the price. Towels and linen are provided. This apartment is very quiet, very well located and will appeal to all lovers of Paris.
If you travel by car, there is a guarded underground parking 250 m far from the apartment.
Please, notice that we can accomodate 3 people. there is a convertible sofa 140x200. I can bring an extra bed 70x200, when there are 3 guests. It is mostly suitable for a couple with a child or for young people then for 3 adults who need an individual sleeping place and privacy.
Be aware that there is a cat living in a neighbouring building, wich you may meet in a courtyard, it might not suite people with an allergy to cats.

The Neighborhood

In the heart of Montmartre you will discover a charming cozy studio, located between neighbourhoods Pigalle and Abbesses. Only 200m far from the metro station Abbesses (line 12). On the calm street rue Berthe just down the road from Rue Lepic and by the famous shop of Amélie Poulain. In addition to its touristic and historic appeal, the neighbourhood is particularly appreciated for its “village” atmosphere, full of traditional galleries, shops, music bars and restaurants that make it one of the liveliest and friendliest areas in Paris.

Getting around

Le Bateau Lavoir, which hosted famous artists (Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse, Georges Braque, Guillaume Apollinaire ...) and Place du Tertre, the center of the old village of Montmartre are all nearby. You can access to Basilica Sacré Coeur in 5 minutes: it is located 300 meters far from the apartment. The studio is a few minutes by walk from all the famous Montmartre sites (Moulin Rouge, Sacré Coeur, Place du Tertre, Café des 2 Moulins, Pigalle, rue Lepic, …) and from the public transports (only 5 minutes far from metro Abbesses or metro Pigalle). You will be able to reach the Champs Elysées in 15 minutes, and the Louvres museum in 25 minutes.

Other Things to Note

You will stay 200 m far from metro station Abbesses (line 12).
From airports CDG, ORLY or station Gare du Nord: from airports CDG you have to take RER B. At Orly airport you have to take a bus which brings you to the station RER B Denfert Rochereau. Then you stop at Gare du Nord. At Gare du Nord you take line 4 with the direction "Porte de Clignancourt" and you get off at "Marcadet Poissonniers". It is the third station on your way from Gare du Nord. At "Marcadet Poissonniers" you have to change the train and take Line 12 (direction - "Mairie d'Issy") and get off at Abbesse (it is the third station from "Marcadet Poissonniers").
At the airport CDG you can take a bus (roissybus) which goes until Opera. There you find the nearest metro station which is "Opera". You go downstairs. Underground you should find a direction to RER E. You should follow this direction. When you achieve a big hall where you will see a new direction to line 12. This is what you need. You go to the station "Saint Lazard" of the line 12. You should take a train which goes until the station "Aubervilliers" and get off at the stop "Abbesses".
From Bauvais airport: you have to take a bus till the metro station Porte Maillot. then you take a metro line 1 till the station Charle de Gaulle Etoille (direction - Chateau de Vincennes). Then you change a metro line and you take line 2. You go till the station Pigalle (direction - Nation). At Pigalle you change the line again and you take line 12. You have to go till the station Abbesses (direction - Aubervilliers).
From Gare de Lyon station you need metro line 1 (direction - La Défense) and you go until the station Concorde! there you change the train and take the line 12 (direction - Aubervilliers). You stop at Abbesses.
From the station Montparnasse you take metro line 12 (direction - Aubervilliers). You stop at Abbesses.
At Abbesses you have to take an elevator, because if you choose stairs you will have to go upstairs 135 m. Abbesse is the deepest station in Paris, bacause it is located almost on the top of Montmartre hill.
After you climb the stairs of the station Abbesses you walk up on rue des Abbesses, then you turn right on rue Ravignan, you go up, at the end of this street you turn right again on rue des trois Frères, then first turn left on rue Androuet, which is very short, 10 steps and you are on rue Berthe. At the end of rue Androuet you turn right and walk on the right side of rue Berthe until the building. There you call me or send sms and I open the door for you:)

  • We had a very enjoyable stay. The flat is fine for 2 people & just as listed & close to everything in Montmartre. Julia is very nice & helpful. Shuttle to airport didn't arrive but taxi is easy & quick & with no traffic holdups on weekend only cost 45 euros, but may be more during week

  • We stayed in the romantic sunny studio for one week during the end of May. It provided us a nice home base during our introduction to Paris. You climb over 200 stairs to get out of the Abbesses metro, and then you emerge into a square with touristy vendors and a carousel. On the walk toward the apartment, we passed the shop from Amelie, where we bought snacks and wine throughout our stay. Julia sent us accurate directions from the airport, but we still managed to get a little lost during a train transfer. We are not from a city with good public transit, so we found it a bit confusing. Julia waited patiently for us and greeted us when we arrived.

Throughout our stay, we became more familiar with the trains, and the apartment is in a very good location to explore Paris. The trains took us to all the major Paris sights within 20 minutes. It's just a few short blocks to Sacre Coeur, the Moulin Rouge, and a neat cemetery. Make sure to explore the neighborhood in all directions. We almost missed the square where artists draw pictures for tourists near the Dali gallery until we happened upon it on our last evening.

The apartment was safe and clean, small, but fine for a couple. As other reviewers note, there's only a curtain for the bathroom door. The hot water in the shower lasts long enough for two quick showers, and the WiFi works well. The bed/sofa is easy to transition back and forth between a bedroom and living room. The apartment is furnished with all you need - sheets, towels, sundries, glasses, and plates. This was our first experience with AirBnB, and we were impressed with the accommodations and the host.

In a jet lagged haze, I accidentally broke a cute cat clock, and I feel terrible for that! It was the only bad part about our stay, which was very comfortable and enjoyable overall. I highly recommend the romantic sunny studio in Montmartre.

  • Julia was a great host. Because of flight arrangements we couldn't get to the apartment until after 10 pm but she still met us even though she had to take the train from outside the city. If possible, I would take a taxi from the airport. Her place is difficult to find. It's about 40 Euros. Once you learn the area and the Metro stops there's no problem. The Monmartre is a great part of Paris to stay in. You feel somewhat like a local and it is easy to get anywhere by Metro. The actual apartment is very small as you can see from the photos. But for us, we're gone all day so we just want a comfortable place to stay. Julia made it very homey for us. We were able to use the kitchen area which is nice so you don't have to eat every meal out. I'd recommend going down the hill to the local grocery stores. They have everything you need. There are also good restaurants and pastry shops. I'd recommend Julia's place for travelling to Paris as we did; to enjoy the local city as opposed to staying in a large hotel.

  • Julia's apartment was great!. The location was very convenient, just a few minutes walk to the subway or bus. There were plenty of nice restaurants in the area just a few minutes from the apartment. The apartment itself was very clean and comfortable. We were able to go to a nearby grocery store and purchase food for breakfast and cook in the apartment, as it is equiped with plates, dishes, silverware etc. There was plety of space for my boyfriend and I. We loved the apartment overall and have already made reservations to stay again. Thank you Julia

  • We stayed in Julia's apartment for one night. The apartment was small, but clean and as described/pictured. Although it was just a pullout sofa bed, it was comfortable and we had no problems sleeping. The apartment is located close to public transportation and tons of restaurants/bars/etc. Communication and check-in/check-out was easy and we had a great stay!
