Private room for up to two guests in our home includes access to our shared bathroom, kitchen, dining room and living room. Access to laundry, free parking and wi-fi. Nearby buses to get to famous SF sights. Good restaurants within walking distance.
Our home is a typical 2-bedroom San Francisco row house built over 70 years ago. We live on a quiet street in the Southeast part of the city.
The bedroom is very comfortable for up to two people. We do not consider requests for bookings of more than two people.
The quiet, garden-view bedroom we offer our guests has a queen-sized bed and a large closet for you to use. Guests share with us our newly remodeled kitchen and bathroom. The living and dining rooms are also there for you to use at your leisure. If you need to freshen up your wardrobe and do a bit of laundry, we have a full-sized washer and dryer for you to use. Use of the kitchen to cook is permitted.
Park your car in our driveway, but please leave us the car keys in case we need to move it.
Use of TV/Cable and internet is permitted.
Interaction with Guests
We only have guests stay with us when we are home. We will give you a key so that you can come and go as you like. How much we interact with you is entirely up to you. We love to find out more about our guests and invite you to join us in the evening to chat if you like. If you just want to come home and go to bed, that's OK too.
Our neighborhood is one of the sunniest in the city, something you may come to appreciate as you see the fog enveloping other neighborhoods. We have two neighborhoods with restaurants we enjoy within walking distance - one to the east and one to the west.
While we aren't in the central part of the city, we are a ten minute drive from SFO, and are close to many MUNI bus and light rail lines: the #24 bus will get you to the Castro in 30 minutes; the #44 takes 20 minutes to get to BART (subway) or 40 minutes to Golden Gate Park; the #8X bus takes just 15 minutes to get you downtown; and the T-Third light rail takes about 20 minutes to get you to AT&T Park (see below for more information on public transportation).
Public transportation in San Francisco can be challenging to figure out. Here are some basics:
The buses, light rail, historic street cars and the iconic cable cars are all run by the SFMTA. Collectively, they are referred to as MUNI. The cable cars cost $6 per trip, but all other MUNI rides are $2ea (transfers are free up to 90-minutes from the time you pay). We provide guests with a Clipper Card that has $10 on it to get you started, and ask that you reload the card (either at a Walgreens drugstore or at the Tickets booth at street-level of the Powell St station, in front of Forever 21) before returning it to us at the end of your stay. It may be cheaper for you to purchase a 1-, 3-, or 7-day pass (either at Walgreens or the Tickets booth) for $14, $22, or $28, respectively. There's also the CityPass, which provides transit passes as well as discounted tickets to many of the city's major attractions. The only thing the visitor passes don't cover is the city's second major form of public transportation, known as BART.
BART (Bay Area Rapid Transit) is the regional rail system, operating in SF like a subway system, that can take you to the suburbs, Berkeley, Oakland, and to SFO. BART and MUNI are separate systems, so if you get off of one and onto the other, you'll have to pay again (no transfers). The cost of BART within SF is $1.75. If you take BART to/from SFO or other places outside the city, the cost is based upon distance traveled. It costs $7 between SFO and SF, much cheaper than taking a taxi (which from our house is $35).

The best airbnb stay my girlfriend and I have had. Chris and Tim were amazing hosts. Super accommodating on our arrival time. Had toast and coffee waiting for us every morning when we woke up. Spent at least an hour our first evening there telling us great spots in the city to go check out. Friendly and easy to chat with, they made their home as welcoming as possible. Even spent a couple evenings staying up late and just chatting with us. I would highly recommend them to anyone. Not in the heart of San Francisco but walkable, a quick bus ride or even a pretty cheap Lyft ride to pretty much anywhere you need to go in the city. Chris and Tim even invited us out to a happy hour with some friends from their neighborhood. We will try and stay with them anytime we are in the San Francisco area.
I absolutely loved staying at Chris and Tim's place! They are amazing hosts who make you feel at home the moment you walk in. When I arrived they spent a good hour recommending me where to to go and what to see in San Francisco - and every single recommendation turned out to be perfect! The house is beautiful and big, the room is sunny, with a nice view of the garden. The bed is heavenly! The neighborhood is not particularly interesting from a tourist's point of view, but it is safe and there are plenty of buses that can take you anywhere in the city. All in all, I would rate my stay here as 10 out of 10. Thank you, Chris and Tim, you guys are awesome!
We had a wonderful time in SF and in Chris and Tim's home, they were awesome to us, giving us tips and suggestions. The room is very comfortable and the apartment has very good public transportation nearby, which I think was very important, you get to go anyway in the city through muni and it runs practically 24hrs.
Amazing hosts and awesome place. Very clean and comfortable. Totaly recommend.
I hope that every time I come to San Francisco I'm able to stay with Chris and Tim!
My best friend and I stayed with Chris and Tim this weekend and it was honestly the best AirBnB experience I've ever had. Their home was immaculate and set up in a quiet neighborhood situated steps away from buses and minutes away from BART. The both of them were so welcoming and knowledgeable about the city and gave us a million suggestions on where to eat and hang out. We tried as much as we could, and every place they suggested from 4 Barrel to Humphry Slocombe was phenomenal.
Chris and Tim and definitely set the bar for AirBnB!! We are both so glad to have met them, and we hope to stay with them again in the future. THANK YOU so much for an amazing experience!
Chris and Tim are super nice hosts! They provide everything we need and are really helpful! My boyfriend and I enjoy our time a lot in San Francisco, and we would like to thank them for their host again. We've already started to miss our winter break there :)
We're a happy couple who've been together over a decade and have lived in our joy-filled house almost as long. We love to eat out, cook, garden, and spend time with our friends and family. The best thing we like about traveling is being able to stay with friends - not just because it's cheaper, but because we get to spend some quality time with people we don't get to see very often, and it becomes a far more meaningful trip in the end. Whenever we stay with friends, we make sure to thank them by taking them out to some buzzy restaurant in their city, and love it when friends reciprocate and take us out somewhere fresh while they're with us.
We tend to be fairly quiet while we're in the house, with an occasional dinner party. Weekends, we'll either be in our own garden or out at a community garden, doing fun tourist activities in our own city, or not so fun activities like running errands.
