Description: Single Occupancy Only
The Sunset Room has a very comfortable queen size bed with 100% cotton sheets, a French Provincial chair, and vintage school desks as night stands. There is also a mirror, ample lighting, and a closet for hanging your garments. The room has exposed brick walls and a 15' ceiling with a remote controlled ceiling fan. The shared bathroom has excellent water pressure and the apartment is equipped with a central heating and cooling system. I can provide a space heater for additional comfort during cooler months.
My apartment offers the perfect home base whether you are doing an internship, apartment hunting, consulting a few times a month, doing a medical rotation, or just in need of a lovely place for a personal retreat. I can accommodate stay durations of varying lengths. I have had guests who stayed for a few days, a few weeks, or for more than a month. I have two private bedrooms and one semiprivate loft space available for rent. The full bathroom and dining area are shared and guests may use the microwave and the refrigerator in the kitchen. My apartment has central heat and AC, ceiling fans, wireless Internet, and a lending library. There is a coin operated laundry room in the building. I also provide an iron and ironing board, a hairdryer, shampoo, conditioner, body soap, toothpaste, and body lotion. I am happy to accommodate guests with allergies to wool and feathers. Weekly housekeeping is included and I only use 100% cotton sheets and towels. I make my own organic house cleaning solutions with pure essential oils.
My flat is located near the Pink Line in the center of the Pilsen artist district. The neighborhood has a vibrant Hispanic community and is full of galleries, artist studios, and unique murals. Within walking distance of my apartment are great restaurants, grocery stores, taquerías, bars, thrift stores, and vintage fashion shops. The National Museum of Mexican Art and the Chicago Arts District are also close by. An open studio and gallery walk event takes place on the second Friday of each month and draws hundreds of people to the neighborhood to check out the art and nightlife. Pilsen is a pedestrian and bicycle friendly neighborhood. I find it to be very safe, but of course we are in a city and it is always good to be mindful of your surroundings when walking alone.
From my apartment you can easily walk or catch a bus or an elevated train to destinations like UIC, University Village, McCormick Center, the Medical District, and Downtown Chicago. The Pink Line is a short walk from my building and the 18th Street bus stops just down the block. Buy a CTA pass at the airport, Union Station, Currency Exchanges, select Jewel and Dominick's grocery stores, or in the CTA store. Activated on the first use, passes allow unlimited rides on city buses and trains for the specified duration. Please note that you cannot purchase a pass on the bus or at train stations. If you are driving, free street parking is generally available on Carpenter Street and 16th Street. I also offer a private parking space behind my building for $20 a day.
Despite how good the apartment was,, Nicole's personality was an outstanding..
First, she responded in couple of minutes, even though I was asking to stay the same day I contacted her.
Second, she was very generous, extremely helpful and understood my situation. I asked for early check in at 10 am, she met me there and gave me everything I needed to know about the area and recommended couple of restaurants and coffee shops. And I asked to do a late check out, and again she was very generous and allowed me to leave when I am ready. I really felt she was like my sister or someone that I've known for long time.
The apartment, since I was there alone, I had the whole place just for me. A lovely place to stay with so many pieces of art made by Nicole's and her friends. It is very clean and organized, just the place you would love to live in. It is located on the W 18th st which offers variety of different restaurants and coffee shops.
Very highly recommended if you are in Chicago.
Thanks Nicole for everything you have done, you made my life easier in Chicago.
Nicole's Place is cosy and clean. She's nice, I made a mistake and arrived one day prior, but she was kind and provided me a place to stay one night. Her studio is cosy and clean, and above all very quiet, I met nice people there. During the marvelous 10 days I spent in chicago. I used to take the 60 bus to the loop area, it's quite easy. There are a lot of great spots in Pilsen area: Honky Tonk, 2 blocks from the place, is a wonderful place to listen to some jazz. A lot of taco's house (I like Los Tamales, near 18th street station), and the supermarker Los Pueblos has a lot of choices (especially if you like mexican food like me). Je suis sur que je reviendrai, car Nicolle est sympa. J'ai adoré loger chez elle!
It's 2nd time to write the same review on here due to connection problem but I really want to write a review about Nicole's place and her kindness. First of all, she made my dream come true. When I got here in America, I really hope to have a room which has bricks walls and cozy blankets, some vintage furnitures. She offered the right things that I've expected. Secondly, she is very clean si the room and everything was neat and cozy. Finally, we had a cappuchino at la catrina and share our story of journey and countries. Oh! She also gave me a ticket to enter the Art Institute of Chicago for free.
About airBnB, I didn't trust the system and process before I started but now I am so much satisfied with the process and their concept of business. AirBnb, hope ur idea spread more and more for the better world!

Nicole was a great host, very responsive and has a beautiful place in a great Chicago neighborhood near the city center. I would stay here again and recommend her place to others.
Nicole is wonderful! And so is her loft! When I met Nicole it felt like I was seeing an old, dear friend instead of meeting a total stranger. She is very warm & inviting. And she even taught me an exercise to help me feel anchored! Lol... Now to the loft. It is as amazing as it looks in the pictures. Very, very, very clean & comfortable. The art throughout the loft is beautiful. And lets not forget the sheets on the bed, FRETTE honey! ❤❤❤The sheets alone will make you never want to leave! They are the softest sheets ever. The location is only a few miles from downtown & 2 buses will get you downtown in minutes. I had an enjoyable stay & you will too!
The loft had an inviting feel to it and very cozy. The bed was comfortable and the sound system was epic. If you're an artsy kinda person like me, you would definitely appreciate the place and the neighborhood. Nicole was VERY welcoming and helpful in any possible way. She knows Chicago front and back so if you're completely new to the city like I was, she's the perfect host for you. Definitely would recommend Nicole's place.
I spent one night in Chicago. The room is situated in a very nice apartment. Nicole was a great host. She even picked me up and showed me around the neighborhood. The neighborhood seemed to be safe, as well.
I would go again. thanks, Nicole.
Nicolas place was great ! Lovely, quiet, perfectly located. I couldn't have asked for a better place to stay in Chicago. The apartment is a modern design lovers dream come true. Thank you Nicole & Michael !
Staying at Nicole's apartment was very comfortable and clean. I really liked the individual, stylish interieur. Nicole is very reliable and took care about my whereabouts when I didn't make it on time to her apartment because of the heavy Chicago rain. Getting into central Chicago from there is very easy. Bus 60, for example, runs frequently right into downtown. Thank you, Nicole, for the pleasant stay!
