Private, perfectly appointed 1BR cottage one block from the Marigny and three from the French Quarter. Amazing hardwood floors, great kitchen, breezeway deck, and walking distance to Frenchmen, Bourbon, and all the greatest points in New Orleans! This property is one block off of the new streetcar line that will carry you to Downtown, the French Quarter, or many destinations uptown including the Garden District and Audubon Park and Zoo.

The space
This 100+-year-old cottage was exhaustively renovated in 2014 and is an amazingly restored example of classic New Orleans architecture. Warm and inviting with pleasant sitting spaces, a nice fully-appointed kitchen, and a very comfortable hand-carved bed that will allow you a great night's rest after your adventures!

Where you’ll be

New Orleans, Louisiana, United States

This is an amazing location! One block outside of the historic and impressively renewed Faubourg Marigny, two blocks from the historic Tremé, and less than three from the legendary French Quarter. The neighborhood is extremely walkable, with dozens of restaurants, bars, coffee shops, bakeries, boutiques, and shops within a ten minute walk.

Our side of St. Claude is going through a swift transformation as homes are being rapidly restored and new businesses opening in anticipation of the new street car line that runs down Rampart and St. Claude from downtown. It may help to be aware that the neighborhood behind the house is improving from some years where it was fairly neglected. Like any central city, do be alert if walking alone at night, and take transportation if you feel at all less than secure.

Some local favorites of mine close to the house are: Who Dat Cafe in the Marigny for coffee and breakfast; Bar Tonique a few blocks down Rampart for excellent interesting and inexpensive cocktails; Meauxbar also on Rampart for an amazing mid-priced French-Creole menu; Sidney's Saloon visible from the front of the house across St. Bernard for simple drinks and neighborhood locals; and Kajun's Pub a little down St. Claude for anytime drinks, a lively crowd, and every night karaoke.

Hello! I was a former frequent visitor to New Orleans who fell in love with the city, moved here over the last two years, and never see myself leaving. I understand the enchantment of this magical city and would be happy to discuss how to make the most of your visit here.

I'm a long time government employee and part time military member. I love cooking, travel, crafting beer and cocktails, hospitality, gardening, pets, and just generally enjoying events around town. I love exploring foreign cultures and get excited about learning new languages as well. Also a huge soccer fan, so if you want to go to a Jesters match or watch football with me, I'm more than happy to join.

During your stay

I will generally be available if you need to ask a question or want advice. I live less than three blocks away myself and I am a big fan of the neighborhood. I'm happy to be in touch by phone, text, or email at any time.
