Cluttered but clean family room, with nature views or mostly trees and distant rooftops. Two shared bathrooms and full access to kitchen and shared living space. Sometimes you will have the house to yourselves, sometimes there might be 10 people staying here (housemates, family guests, other Airbnb guests).
Good free parking and WIFI, not fancy, just a nice safe spot to relax.
This is an older queen size pullout couch in a downstairs family room type shared living space with access to kitchen and other home spaces, including 3 full bathrooms. Some folks find the couch/bed very comfortable, some put the mattress on the carpeted floor instead.
We can pick up or drop off at San Leandro BART (2.5 miles) or Oakland Airport (6 miles) if scheduling allows. The 22 miles to San Francisco takes 25 minutes by BART, 40 to 50 minutes by bus, and 30 to 60 minutes by car. 5 minute walk to AC transit bus lines 73, NX3, NX4. 45 minute walk, or 15 minute bike ride, to BART.
Our neighborhood of single family homes has three small parks, is quiet (except for the occasional barking dog or seasonal crickets) and we are close to Lake Chabot Regional Park. We are also a 10 minute walk to convenience and grocery stores, a bagel cafe, 2 coffee shops (Starbuck's) and a few restaurants. We usually have food to share and can take you with us for food shopping if needed.
Road and mountain bikes available to borrow free. Local mobile phone available to borrow free. House MagicJack phone available for free US/Canada calls, pennies for worldwide calls. Supplemental solar electricity and solar water heating keep our costs down and our karma up. Sailing on the Bay is a possibility.
The short haired blur of a cat is Smittens, a polite and somewhat wild in-and-out female cat. The longer haired female Misha is unusually soft and is better off indoors, enjoying human company.
Chill: enjoy the sunset bay view, the flora and fauna, the relaxed and engaging environment.
No smoking. No illegal drugs. No parties or disruptive behavior. No loud music or laundry after 10:30 pm. Please clean up after yourself. Respect is good for everyone!
The downstairs shower faucet drips, please do these two things after each shower: 1) tighten the faucets as much as you can 2) CLOSE THE SHOWER DOOR (IF YOU DRIP AND TOWEL OFF INSIDE THE SHOWER INSTEAD OF ALL OVER THE FLOOR, BLESS YOU!)
We are a resource aware household, please:
-limit showers to 20 minutes or less
-do not run water needlessly or excessively
-clean up immediately after eating
-do not leave glasses, dishes or silverware in the sink unless you are about to wash or rinse them.
-do not pour grease or candle wax down the drain
-rinse food off on disposal side of sink (left side)
-make sure that no silverware or hard food items (peach pits) go into the disposal drain of the sink (left side), you can put most food waste into the green compost bucket, and most things can be recycled.
-we don't mind sharing tea, cereal, milk, fruit and condiments, if you are staying more than 2 nights, we would appreciate a donation or replacing something you used a lot of. (we don't usually have dairy or soy milk so you should bring your own)
-you are welcome to use the refrigerator to store food
-you are welcome to sit in the dining area, living room, downstairs (where you will be sleeping) and outside. Keep the sliding door locked unless you or somebody else is outside.
-please stay out of the downstairs office area and do not open or use any of the drawers or office/art supplies near the desk and art table. You are welcome to read any books you see in the bookshelves.
-clean lint trap on dryer before use
-the center cup is for fabric softener not for laundry soap
-hours to do laundry: after 10 am, before 11pm

We have cats and we ask that you not bring your pets.
Thank You, for reading this!

We have cats and since this is a shared space, please do not bring any critters with you!
Please do NOT let Misha, the longish furred tabby and white calico cat, outside!
Also, a elderly cat named Turtle now lives here (upstairs) and she does not go outside at all. Please do not leave the front door open!
