I have to be completely honest! I was looking for a hotel rm for a wedding @ the Geyserville Inn. All the local hotels were either $300+/night & 2 nt min. I just wanted a place to get ready pre-wedding, then a place to crash after so we wouldn't have to make the almost 3 hr drive home late on a Sat night. I read the description as well as reviews left by previous guests & I was intrigued! I imagined a quirky, unique retreat; I remained open-minded. What I failed to do was tell my hubby that the room didn't have a private bath or AC (it was >105 F during the day). We pulled up to colorful, welcoming signs, passed a small building resembling shrine of sort, then a bridge with Xmas lights (I'm still unsure where the bridge led). We drove around a dirt road to the back, walked to the office. We noticed lots of different animals & birds, goats, ostriches, emus, peacocks, as well as other exotic talking birds. I met DeTraci in the open quad area, she welcomed me with a warm smile, so sweet & accommodating. There were other people in the area walking around, they seemed like normal enough people that my concerns of this place being a "weird, scary cult retreat" were put to rest! I laughed to myself when I thought about how I was considering not even checking in & just ditching this place. When I told my husband there was only a "shared bathroom", no A/C I thought he was going to get back in the car & divorce me. We only had 20 mins to get ready, so we chatted with birds & emus, headed to the room to get ready. The room was clean & cute, the ceiling fan blew strong, bed was comfy with 2 seats & a mirrored vanity. We were in room #12 (Ma'at Room) which is on the shady corner facing the pool. At 3pm in August, the room was slightly warm still but definitely refreshing from the sweltering 105 degree heat. There were separate men/women bathrooms with private toilets & showers within the bathrooms. They were very clean & smelled fresh. We returned from the wedding around 11pm that night & it was pretty quiet. Our room was in a dorm-like setting but other guests were very respectful in regards to noise. Some guests were enjoying a late night swim, others were upstairs in the lounge area with Direct TV. The best part about it was that it cooled down to almost 50 degrees in the room & we slept great! I have to say that we LOVED this little place. I anticipated the worst & left with a positive impression! I couldn't wait to come home to write a review. If you're a "hotel snob" demanding 5stars, valet & room service, skip this place. If you're open minded, love nature & serenity, then give this place a try!

This is a unique space: a huge piece of land, with multiple buildings including a temple, enclosures for all sorts of animals, etc. The pool/hot tub/sauna area is very pleasant. The animals are very interesting to visit. It's in a great location right in downtown Geyserville. You should be aware that it is a little run-down, and if you need a high level of cleanliness the main house (with shared bathrooms) is probably not for you.

Eccentric, funky, and all around amazing place to stay. Has a hostel feel to it (shared bathroom, common area, etc.) but with much nicer rooms. Highly recommended if you're looking for a more unique experience!

Fantastic room, great for a couple of single person staying in Geyserville. There is some ambient noise, as the room is next to the pool and door to the building, but the bed was comfortable and the amenities were spectacular.

Isis Oasis is a completely unique place to stay. This is my second time here and I love the peacefulness and proximity to Geyserville and nearby cities.

I'm the director of the Isis Oasis Sanctuary, a beautiful and magical retreat center and lodge in the heart of the Alexander Valley wine country in Sonoma County.I worked very closely with Loreon Vigne, who owned the Retreat Center for 35 years, and who unfortunately recently passed away. She was a San Franciscan where she created a line of giftware and jewelry and came to the country to retire in 1978 on a 10 acre plot of land in beautiful Alexander Valley. She spent this time creating art and beauty on her property which has a number of interesting buildings of historic significance including a 600 year old heritage tree. She dedicated the land to the ancient Egyptian Goddess Isis, otherwise known as Mother Earth. Instead of retiring, she used her time making her property a living art project. We are a non-profit organization housing exotic cats and birds of many species including a vivarium of interesting insects and small reptiles. There is also an art gallery for her artwork on the property as well as a gift bazaar offering ancient Egyptian altar pieces. There is a permaculture garden and labyrinth on the property to enjoy. We have a pool and spa, Isis meditation temple and a redwood walled theater where concerts/plays/films are showcased, plus some cob structures built of local earth. Please come and visit us at our unique peaceful sanctuary...I look forward to meeting you.
