About this listing
This listing is for Room # 9 at The Isis Oasis Lodge, The Goddess Mut Room. Mut was the ancient Egyptian Goddess of The Living Earth. For photographs of the entire Lodge, please take a look at my listing titled 'The Isis Oasis Lodge.'
The 12 room Isis Oasis Lodge is a unique place to stay if you are visiting the wine country and want to have a spiritual experience. Drive in to our retreat center and park at the office. There you will see a small ornate Temple dedicated to the Goddess Isis. You may enter and offer a prayer while honoring the four directions. Get your room keys in the office off the spacious dining pavilion. Then you can drive up a hill where you will find the Lodge. Park behind this edifice and enter this historic building built circa 1932. None of the rooms have a private bath, TV, or air conditioning, however the lodge always stays cool. Each room is designed to reflect a different Egyptian Goddess and holds a description of the attributes she represents. All have ceiling fans, exotic netting over the beds, and artifacts representing each particular Goddess within. You can enjoy the safari lounge with fireplace that overlooks the sparkling swimming pool just outside the lodge within a secluded garden. There is a hot spa and a sauna as well as a wood burning oven in this area. Upstairs in the lodge is one gigantic room with a rug on one side where you might like to do some yoga, or watch TV. There is also a ping pong table and pool table for your enjoyment. The lodge has two dorm style bathrooms, one for women and one for men. The upstairs has more bathrooms plus a spa tub room.
There are fine dining options within walking distance from The Isis Oasis Lodge e.g. 'Catelli's Italian Restaurant', 'Diavola Pizzeria.' Additionally, there is 'The Geyserville Mud' coffee and pastry shop, which is a popular spot, and 'The Hoffman House Restaurant' on the north end of town, which is a terrific spot for breakfast. We are close to many renowned wineries (Francis Ford Coppola, Trentadue, Trione, Geyser Peak, Clos Du Bois etc.), and the Russian River is within a short walking distance for kayaking/canoeing. Lake Sonoma is about 6 miles away, and is a popular spot for boating and hiking. Additionally, River Rock Casino is a 5 mile drive away. If you are coming as a couple or individual, you will find Isis Oasis Lodge a refreshing change from the everyday hotel or motel. Please come and visit the unique...Isis Oasis Lodge. You don't have to travel far to be in a whole other world, time and place!
**Note: If you're coming as a group, multiple rooms can be rented out simultaneously OR, the entire Lodge can be rented out for large groups/events. Check out my other listings. I also have other rentals on my property e.g. a secluded cottage for couples 'The Cabernet Cabin.' Again, check out all my other listings! **
The Goddess Mut Room is part of the Isis Oasis Lodge which has been assembled with much love and care over many years. Please respect the space and do your utmost to leave the place in as good a condition as how you found it upon your arrival. No items to be moved around without prior approval from Loreon. Please, no smoking anywhere in the lodge. Also, please keep the pool/spa area clean - there are several trash bins in this area, so please dispose of all trash appropriately. We would like your stay to be as enjoyable as possible, and in this regard, your cooperation is highly (email hidden)ank you!
Entering Isis Oasis is like entering a whole new world! It was great to get out of town, and spend time among peacocks, nature, and Egyptian everything. The lodge can get a little noisy on weekends, so I'd recommend the cob houses if your a light sleeper, as they are removed from the main area.
ISIS Oasis was a great place to stay for the weekend! Definitely on the eclectic end of the spectrum, the place is home to an exotic animal sanctuary and lovely shared pool, hot tub and grounds.
Do note that the bathrooms are shared, dorm style. The staff was really accommodating when we asked for a queen bed instead of two twins, super hospitable! We will be coming back!
DeTraci was an amazing host and this place is incredibly unique. If you want to stay where there are alpacas, exotic birds, and amazing jungle cats right outside your door, this is the place!
We had a lovely stay at Isis as part of a wedding party. The room itself was nice, and stayed cool with shades down, despite the summer heat. The pool was also great for this. One of the sanctuary's custodian's gave us a lovely tour of their animal sanctuary - including ocelots, snake and birds! Sydney the talking parrot was a highlight.
My only complaint would be the lack of a refrigerator. We only stayed one night, so it wasn't a huge deal, but I couldn't find a working refrigerator anywhere - not even in the lodge - nor anyone to ask. It would have been nice to know we should have brought a cooler.
My boyfriend and I really enjoyed our time at the Isis Oasis Lodge! We arrived Friday night to a very warm welcome by staff members who showed us the grounds. Hung out in the jacuzzi and chilled by the fire pit. The next morning we were given a tour of all the exotic animals, which we're amazing! I wish we could of stayed longer! If you're looking for a funky, relaxing spot, then this is the place for you. Seems really great for large groups.
Be prepared to get sucked into a time warp! Somehow, three days just vanished in a blink during my stay at the Isis Oasis. Such a dreamy, relaxing and tranquil setting with beautiful rooms and the friendlies people.

About the Host, DeTraci
I'm the director of the Isis Oasis Sanctuary, a beautiful and magical retreat center and lodge in the heart of the Alexander Valley wine country in Sonoma County.I worked very closely with Loreon Vigne, who owned the Retreat Center for 35 years, and who unfortunately recently passed away. She was a San Franciscan where she created a line of giftware and jewelry and came to the country to retire in 1978 on a 10 acre plot of land in beautiful Alexander Valley. She spent this time creating art and beauty on her property which has a number of interesting buildings of historic significance including a 600 year old heritage tree. She dedicated the land to the ancient Egyptian Goddess Isis, otherwise known as Mother Earth. Instead of retiring, she used her time making her property a living art project. We are a non-profit organization housing exotic cats and birds of many species including a vivarium of interesting insects and small reptiles. There is also an art gallery for her artwork on the property as well as a gift bazaar offering ancient Egyptian altar pieces. There is a permaculture garden and labyrinth on the property to enjoy. We have a pool and spa, Isis meditation temple and a redwood walled theater where concerts/plays/films are showcased, plus some cob structures built of local earth. Please come and visit us at our unique peaceful sanctuary...I look forward to meeting you.
