  • Carol is a great hostess, very friendly and informative. The accommodations are well appointed, appealing, and quite spacious. The views from the apartment are stunning, looking out over Owen's Valley, Mount Tom and breathtaking wall of granite to the west. She and her husband made me feel part of the family.

  • Thank you Carol for the amazing time we had at your house and on the slopes. Sun burns aside, we loved everything about it and we can not wait to come back. We'll see you soon:)

  • Wonderful place! Carol was very accommodating for a late arrival and even gave us a goose egg for breakfast! Amazing views, warm and inviting apartment above the stables and did I mention the views?

Carol is a great host. I hope to return again soon!

My only issue is I'm slightly allergic to dust mites. Being above the hay and horses, even if the stable is cleaner than most houses, still had an effect on me. But hay, that's my problem. :)

  • This is an extraordinary place. The owners aredesigners and builders and you cancertainly tell. The views and the apartment are beautiful. Carol was very friendly and helpful. We had one of her geese's eggs for breakfast and we patted the horses. Isolated but convenient to Bishop and Mammoth. I recommend this place highly.

  • My boyfriend and I stayed at the guest house during our mammoth ski retreat and enjoyed every minute of it! Carol, your place is gorgeous and set amongst some of the best scenery I've ever seen. The house is so clean and cozy and we didn't want for anything. Jon and I truly appreciated your hospitality and it was a pleasure meeting you. Thank you for being so gracious with our late arrival on Friday! We will definitely be back on our next trip to mammoth and would recommend this as a must for anyone wanting to visit the area!

  • All that's been said for Carol and her guest house couldn't be more true. Clean, cozy and in a stunning setting. About a half hour away from the main area for Mammoth skiing. Loved our stay and can't wait to come back!

  • My parents and I had a remarkable experience staying at Carol's place. It is a beautiful property with tranquility – far from the highway and you are surrounded by nature, especially the magnificent mountains along the Sierra. Look and feel much more spectacular than the photos!
Great amenities that made our trip much more enjoyable.
We cooked, had great conversations, viewed the beautiful sunrise and gazed the stars – what a wonderful retreat! Thanks Carol!!!

  • Carol's place was one of the best experiences we had in our travel. Few notes on particulars:
Location 5+ View onto the mountains is to die for! And very private too. And very, very quite.
Communication 5+ Carol responds to any email, phone, personal requests very fast and very accomodating.
Uniqueness 5+. This place is one-off in a great way. We stayed in many hotels, condos but only remember one visit from 5 years ago at another great ranch. I'm sure that Carol's place we will remember 5-10 or more years from now.
Cleanliness 5+. This place is spotless! Great job Carol, we understand it's hours and hours of your work.
Convenience 5+. Kitchen, bedroom, bathroom - everything we needed was there and some! Plus it all comes with great design taste. There is no TV in living room (there is a tv in bedroom). What a concept! Our family loved it. We actually talked to each other about 10 times more than usual before, during and after dinner. Thank you Carol for this thoughtful move.
We came to ski at Mammoth and spend most of time at the mountain, but wished that we could stay longer at Carol's place.
Would not hesitate to recommend it to anyone!

Hello, I live in the Sierra Nevada Mountains and love a life enjoying the outdoors. I ride dressage horses, grow organic vegetables, ski, swim, hike. I have more then five things I cannot live without. Some of them would be kindness, horses, fresh air, good friends, food, wine, and travel. I also have a farm in the Napa Valley in Northern California.I press my own organic olive oil and one day will make my own wine. It is a labor of love. I have traveled all over the world and haven't found a country I didn't want to live in. I like all types of music and food, as long as it is made with love.
