I have a large one bedroom apartment in the Lower East Side with a full kitchen, bathroom and plenty of closet space. I have a small balcony where you can stand and take in the views of the city. There are large windows that let in a ton of light.
You will have the whole place to yourself. My apt is on the 4th floor - there is an elevator in the building as well as a laundry room. I have reliable wifi and like a true NYer I do not own a TV.
The Delancey Street subway station is a one minute walk from my front door.
Ludlow is a very popular street on the weekends - at night on Friday and Saturday you will hear noise from the street - so if you are a light sleeper or get annoyed by the noises of NYC my apt may not be for you. =)
3 blocks away you are in China Town.
4 blocks away you in Little Italy.
6 blocks away you are in SoHo.
5 blocks away you in the East Village.
My husband is a writer we have a mural in our living room based on his manifesto - The Life and Times of a Remarkable Misfit. We have custom designed our apartment to reflect the ideals we live our life by.
Excelente apt. Excelente ubicación. Cerca subway y caminando a muchos sitios. Gracias!
great apartment. clean, sunny, bright. i thought it was an excellent value, and the hosts were super helpful in making sure everything worked great.
my one (small) note for visitors from our of town, is that this is not the quietest of locations. its on a quiet street, and there was absolutely no neighbor related noise, but the building is situated close to a major avenue with tons of traffic, ambulances, firetrucks, etc. i had a hard time sleeping as a result ... but thats an issue in most places.
i would definitively stay here again.
I don't know where to start. It was my first time booking a place on airbnb and it was better than expected...
- The apartment: its exactly as shown on the pictures. Not only the decoration is beautifully cool, but its also a very comfortable and cozy space. Two of the things that aren't shown on the pictures are the bedroom (which trust me, is very nice an neat) and the view! Its waaay nicer than the picture can show.
- Location: i think its a huge plus. Not only is located 1 block away from the subway, but it's also surrounded by really nice local bars, small boutiques, food stores, etc. I thought it was going to be noisy during the weekend's nights, but although you hear people talking on the street, you will not lose your sleep. Everything is also on a walkable distance, and it feels safe to walk around the neighborhood during the day and night.
- Check-in: we had a couple of issues because of the weather and we couldn't arrive on the scheduled time. But that wasn't a problem. They were very attentive and helped us through with it.
Id def recommend Meli's place and I'd stay here over and over again.
Great location, nice view, elevator building, good-sized apt.
The place could have been cleaner, though. We also wished there was another place to sit besides the sofa; there's certainly room for a table and chairs.
I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at the Misfit Oasis. Awesome location, very cool and inspiring apartment and an incredible view. The LES is such a fun place to be and Meli's apartment is in the heart of it all. I didn't get to meet her directly but her bro-n-law Tony was very accommodating and even helped me when I thought I had lost the keys (accidentally left them at apt when I left in the morn. Thanks again, Tony!!). I'll be back for sure.
Superb location in LES and a very spacious and comfortable apartment. Easily accommodated 3.
Loved the place. Convenient location near subways, elevator building and great place to park your stuff and walk around to lower east side, east village, Chinatown etc. the wall art and mason jar glasses are really cool. They even left us closet space. Tony was a super responsive host and a great communicator. I had a small problem and it was resolved ASAP. If there were host awards for service I'd nominate them. As far as the noise that others mentioned, it is not as bad as I imagined. I have a sensitive 1 year old who slept through it every night- it was really only noticeable on the weekends. But it's NYC and not Montana.
Melissa's Place is great. Right between East village and chinatown and very close to Katz's deli. Her Brother waited for us and showed us around. It. is a little bit noisy but hey thats the big apple.
This was our first stay with Airbnb and i only have positive things to say. Everything worked out perfect and Melissas appartement was all we hoped for.I initially booked only for me and my two Children, but then my sister decided to come and Melissa was fine with that -Thank you! Her brother in law Tony was really nice and easy to get in contact with. The first night, the inflatable bed lost air and my son ended up sleeping on the floor but Tony immediately fixed us a new one! I really recommend this place and I would go back any day!
Melissa's was a fantastic place to stay and it was in a great location in LES. The apartment was clean and modern with a nice comfortable couch. The bedroom and bathroom were a perfect size. It was great to have air conditioning and an elevator. I also loved the artwork and the chalkboard. Thanks to Tony for greeting us and showing us around the apartment while Melissa was out of town. Thanks Melissa for enabling us to have such wonderful memories of NYC :)
