We arrived comparatively late the other night. The host couple greeted us warmly at the front door and gave us a brief tour to their very inviting and delicately decorated house. The room looks exactly the same or even better than it's shown in the picture, the whole setting is very comfortable and homie. We also had our own bathroom that located on the first floor. The neighborhood is very quiet so we had very good sleep that night. Then the next morning, when we got up, Lifen already prepared freshly baked muffins for us. And we had really nice talk with each other. We decided that we would definitely go back even before we left the house and would highly recommend to anyone who are planning to visit that area.
I went to Poliquin PICP courses and styed at Lifen and Dan's lovely home. I was perfect! Filtered water, a great kitchen for healthy cooking, a comfy bed and supernice people! The yard was lovely and canoeing experience was terrific. Lifen and Dan are super nice and extremely helpful. I recommend this place for all who are looking for a cozy place to stay at.
We had a very comfortable three nights at Lifen and Dan on labor day weekend. I was visiting Newport, RI with my girlfriend and we wanted a quiet place to stay which was not very expensive. They were completely booked for that weekend except for the lotus room which was still available. Looking at the pictures and description, I immediately decided to book it even though it was about 35-40 min away from Newport. In retrospect, I think it worked well for us because it was equidistant from Newport and Point Judith, the two places we wanted to visit. We took a high speed ferry from pt. Judith to spend a day at Block Island. Dan and Lifen are hard working couple who take great care of their property. Their house is immaculate and fully furnished. There is a full kitchen to share with all the pan and pots. Keurig coffee maker is at guest's disposal with a variety of k-cups to try. Their house in nested in a nice neighborhood with a lakefront. There is a small bar attached to the living room which offers a selection of wine and some beers. We took their canoe for a two hour canoeing in the lake. Lifen was very helpful and attentive towards all our needs. She was kind enough to print our ferry tickets that I bought online. They have a detailed list of their favorite nearby restaurants on airbnb page which was helpful. There were two other couples staying in the house that weekend and everyone was respectful to each other. We didn't feel any problem sharing bathroom or kitchen space with other guests. I highly recommend this airbnb rental if you are visiting the area.
I was in Rhode Island for a course at the Poliquin World HQ and let me say that this place was fantastic! Lifen and Dan are very nice and genuine people who make a great effort to make you feel at home. They're very helpful and I enjoyed conversations with them. I was feeling a bit homesick but chatting and having a laugh with them made it go away!
They're home is beatiful and the cooking facilities are awesome. There's all the equipment and spices you need. They have a water filter on their fridge so you'll be drinking clean and fresh water! On top of that the surroundings are great too. I enjoyed a relaxing walk in the woods and the air was so refreshing! The neighborhood is also very quiet so sleeping won't be a problem here. I don't usually sleep too well when travelling but this was exactly the opposite!
I will definitely come back here next time I'm coming to RI. I highly recommend this place to everyone! I hear it's even better in the summer. ;)
We only spent one night with Lifen and Dan but we will definitely return. Their home is simply beautiful inside and out. Pictures on the web do not do justice to this lovely home filled with interesting pieces of art, furniture and lovely flowers....and they take care to make your stay enjoyable. The home is exceptionally clean and tour bed was very comfortable. I love to cook and hope to get a chance to use the kitchen on our return....Lifen has every kitchen appliance and a wide range of spices and she loves sharing her knowledge of cooking....Dan brews beer and he does it with precision and flair..We did not get a chance to use their canoes and we would like to try the rails to trails biking nearby. .Don't miss this couple with their wonderful home...
This was our first Airbnb experience and we really enjoyed it. Our stay with Lifen and Dan was comfortable, friendly and fun. We were made to feel very welcome in their home and enjoyed conversations with them and other guests about travel, life and gardening. (The garden is gorgeous.) The setting is beautiful and we enjoyed canoeing on the lake and our adventures in the area. Jill and Peter
