Cozy Bedroom in Edgewater Park

Apartment - Private room · Lake Avenue, Cleveland, OH 44102, United States

The Space

Beautiful apartment located in a historic building built by the Rockefeller family to accommodate their guests. The building is located directly across from Edgewater Park and is a 5 minute drive to downtown Cleveland. My apartment is on the top floor and accessible by elevator or stairs. Parking is on street and available on Lake Ave., West Blvd., or Clifton Blvd.

The guest bedroom is furnished with a beautiful antique bedroom set and features a full size bed with new mattress and box springs as of October 7, 2012. The bathroom is a shared bath and has a shower/tub, toilet, and sink. The common areas include: living room, dining room, and kitchen. The living room includes a massage table where I provide reiki treatments. Appointments can be booked during your stay if desired.

The building is a very quiet building in a wonderful neighborhood. Therefore, I am really interested in renting to people, who are respectful, quiet and clean. Please tell me something about you. Where you are from, what your plans are for Cleveland and which industry you work in. I would also like to see your pictures. Please read my profile and make sure you have made a nice profile for yourself BEFORE requesting a reservation.

Check In
  • I was quite impressed with Cleveland and enjoyed staying with David. He directed me to some really nice spots. Unfortunately the weather was kind of raw, so I didn't get out walking in his neighborhood. Next time.

  • We went to Cleveland to visit the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame and David's place is very conveniently located near it -- just hop on Rte 2 kitty-corner from his building and arrive at nearby municipal parking in 5 minutes. It is also easy to get to the Westside Market from there. The bedroom is smallish but sufficed us (a couple) for three nights. The apartment features a small but well-equipped and laid out kitchen and very spacious dining and living room. David graciously shares the space so we never felt cramped. It was also easy to arrange our check-in via phone with David. We did find the central steam heating overwhelming the first night (not yet off, but some days/nights in early spring require it), but opening the bedroom window per David's suggestion got us comfortable.

  • David was such a great host, he makes you feel at home and very comfortable. If you have to come to Cleveland and don't know where to stay I highly recommend you his place, lovely flat in a very quiet residence.

  • David was awesome! His place was centrally located to everything.. He was very nice and always willing to help me find places and things to do. I really enjoyed my stay and would stay here again if I came to Cleveland!

  • David was an excellent host. He was thoughtful in every aspect of the airbnb experience. He provided thoughtful local recommendations and was easy to coordinate with. Parking was easy, and the area is quite nice.

The building is old yet full of character, from the squeaky floors to the old school elevator (kinda fun to ride!) The only minor downside was the water temperature in the shower, which was lukewarm rather than hot (though that might have been an anomaly). We also noticed that it was pretty bright in the bedroom at night even with the blinds closed... I only mention this because some people need a completely dark room to fall asleep.

Again, very minor issues, and we didn't even bother to bring them up with David. Overall, I'd recommend David and his place.

  • David - Such a FANTASTIC host and person - Although we did not cross paths often, he was incredibly helpful and resourceful. David's communication is timely and he truly understands the empathy involved in successful hospitality. His space and manner facilitated a wonderful stay in Cleveland and I look forward to staying with him again in the future. The apartment itself is beautiful, calming, and only a wonderful 5 minutes from the lake. THANK YOU!

    Response from David:

I want to apologize again for having to cancel your reservation. I appreciate your understanding as my Mom will be dealing with heart issues at the Cleveland Clinic. Enjoy your time in Cleveland.

  • David has been the perfect host, ensuring I have everything I need. Everything has been as promised, and I am enjoying my stay. It is a quiet little spot away from downtown within easy access to the parks. As the advert says, it is a cozy snug neighborhood. Thanks David!

  • David was a great guest! I was not expecting to be staying in Cleveland but had to do so at the last minute for business. After messaging multiple Airbnb hosts David was the first one to reply almost immediately and gladly welcomed me into his home. His place is very clean and cozy and I never felt as if I was intruding into his personal space. Parking was never an issue and I felt very comfortable leaving the car out because the neighborhood felt very safe. Both days that I stayed he left breakfast out for me, provided bottled water and the most important when traveling for business, an iron! I would definitely recommend David when visiting Cleveland.
