The Space

Cozy room in a charming and typical apartment from the 18th century of the Eixample quarter. The big apartment with 3 bedrooms, living room, dining area and study has original handpainted mosaicfloors, high ceilings with ornaments and is decorated with an eclectic mix of vintage furniture and original art work. The bathroom is divided into three different rooms: sink, toilet and shower - which makes it ideal for sharing.

The apartment is located right next to the stop for the airport shuttlebus and perfect to enjoy a stay in the centre of Barcelona - very spacious and an oasis of quietness and relaxing atmosphere, despite its very central location, as it is facing towards the big, typical courtyard.

The Sant Antoni neighbourhood is an upcoming area of Barcelona and many trendy cafes, bars and vintage furniture shops opened up just lately... Enjoy your breakfast on the rooftop terrace of the Federal Cafe, try the delicious cake creations at Zuckerhaus or have a fantastic dinner at the stunning Market Hotel restaurant!

The location is perfect to discover Barcelona as it´s just 10 minutes walking distance to the vibrant and trendy Raval area (great nightlife, bars, restaurants, shops ..) 15 minutes walking distance to Ramblas, Plaza Catalunya and the Gothic quarter. There are 3 different metro lines ("Urgell", "Sant Antoni", "Poble Sec") and many buslines closeby.

The room itself is equipped with a comfortable bed, a nighttable with drawers, a big shelf for clothes, a vintage table, a cute stool - and of course there is WIFI.

  • Though I was mostly out and about, I had a nice time at Birgit's. The room is basic but very cosy. Best of all, the place is centrally located making it perfect for exploring the city on foot. The airport shuttle stop nearby is a big plus, giving you extra time to sleep in before catching that early morning flight!

  • I had a wonderful stay in Birgit's apartment. It was even more charming than in the pictures and it was nice to see a different side of Barcelona than staying in a hotel. Birgit is truly worthy and gentle woman with a great sense of humor (I wasn't mistaken in her). In her flat you can feel natural Barcelona not as guest - as Spaniard. Exactly what i was looking for!
Muchas Gracias, Birgit, I'd like to see you again!
And welcome to St Petersburg! :)

  • With Birgit I did not only find a host, no I found a new friend. At first I was interested to live ones in a flat with such a wonderful floor. But I met a great person which present me her home like my home. I felt free and like family. We shared deep conversation and very good time. Birgit is much more than she present herself here on AirBnb.
I choosed also this place because its totally easy to reach it from the airport by bus. Everything is close to find. Also a good Bio Supermarket and nice neighborhood.
For me to stay with Birgit was absolutely perfect. We made often jokes about her name. But nomen est omen and she got the right name ;-)
    Thanks Birgit - thanks Airbnb

  • Birgit is wonderful hostess. Very calm and sweet. She will talk you about a very pleasant and interesting places in Barcelona. Those which can only a citizen knows . She has a great sense of style that you can appreciate in her beautiful apartment.

It is very difficult to feel the real life of the Spaniards walking around the city. All life is hidden inside. Each block forms an enclosed court, hidden from the eyes of tourists. The windows of Birgit's apartment go exactly in such courtyard. From there you can see the Spanish life: a woman watering flowers in front of the balcony, downstairs neighbor is brilliantly whistling a recognizable tune, and on the first floor in the garden somebody is walking with the dog ...

After all, why do people usually rent apartments? To have a little dip in another city, to live different life a little. I would say without overstatement this is the best place in the city for that.

  • It was my first experience with Airbnb and for sure not the last one! I stayed by Birgit for a month and I enjoyed the "vespertine" chats with her! She gave me a lot of useful suggestions for restaurants, bars and how to move in Barcelona. The flat is really central and lies in the charming Eixample near Sant Antoni market. I had a really nice stay, thanks a lot Birgit :)

  • I had a wonderful stay with Birgit! She is so nice and helpful, and the room is so cute and quiet! Her apartment is lovely, and I can't wait to go back and stay longer. I recommend her apartment to anyone visiting Barcelona. So much better than any hotel experience!

  • The apartment was quiet and spacious, with some beautiful touches. (I especially loved the hand-painted tile floors.) And it was central. Within easy walking distance of Barrio Gotic, Raval and Federal Cafe.
Birgit was charming, attentive and great to talk to. I just spent two days, but would have happily stayed longer.
It was my first experience of Airbnb, and an excellent one.

  • Birgit has a nice flat and was a good host for the two weeks I stayed there. The room is great for a good night's rest. I particularly liked the kitchen (and the wok!), as well as the dining space, with a view over a charming "patio de manzana", where you can watch cats having their day-long siestas in the sun (very soothing). Overall excellent value.
