  • Although we didn't get to meet Barbara we can comment on the room etc. The room was really, reallly nice! Big room, nice bathroom and balcony with hammock. Also included was breakfast, any choice off the breakfast menu and also a drink. The breakfast was one of the best we have had in months! We kept waiting for a catch but there wasnt one. Forgot to mention you also get a chocolate tour which was good. Overall this room really is unbelievable value for money and cant recommend it enough.

  • El Quetzal is a fantastic place to stay, my only regret is that is didn't stay longer in Mindo and at El Quetzal. Number 1, its a chocolate factory and number 2 its a chocolate factory! Honestly, El Quetzal has an amazing view of both the river and the whole of Mindo ( Make sure to take a trip to the third floor to really see the view. A stay at the hotel comes with breakfast, as well as a complementary chocolate factory and garden tour, which was outstanding as well. Very knowledgable guide, with yummy tastings afterward. The restaurant is very good as well, incorporating interesting and inventive twists into the menu.

  • El Quetzal is a very nice place to spend a couple of nights in Mindo. The room was well appointed, with a nice view of the surrounding hills. Breakfast was also of high standards, there is also a chocolate tour included with the stay, which was very interesting. The overall experience was very positive. Recommended!
