The Space

I have a guest room with a queen sized bed, end tables with lamps, a dresser, closet, cable TV and wi-fi. There is a large window facing south and a door to the redwood deck and fenced in yard.

Remodeled kitchen with windows facing south to San Bruno mountain offer lovely views. Living room has 46" HD TV with cable. The bathroom is shared with bathtub/shower. Washer/dryer in garage.

I'm a 7 minute walk to BART (the subway), the J Church MUNI line and buses and the village of Glen Park. BART station is one stop away from the Mission and 4 stops (7 minutes) from downtown. The village of Glen Park has coffee shops, grocery and a deli. Restaurants include Italian, French, New Orleans, pizza, burritos and crepes.

Just a few blocks from 280 and 101 freeways. Only a 15 minute drive to the airport.

The neighborhood of Glen Park is very quiet. There is plenty of street parking.

I have 2 medium sized dogs. They are not allowed in the guest room but are free to roam the rest of the house.

I've lived in San Francisco for 25 years and love to share my favorite city with others.

  • Layne is a very nice host. She told me lots of the information of San Francisco. And the room is very nice. Comfortable and clean, the location is very good, near the BART, the underground hat you can go anywhere. Everything is wonderful there and I will choose there in the future again.

  • Layne's house was magnificent, although both my girlfriend and I as well as Layne were out of the house for most of the visit we had no trouble keeping in touch to make sure everything was taken care of. The property is beautiful, her two dogs are super friendly and the bed was comfortable. What more could you ask for!

  • Great experience staying with Layne and her dogs. The room was spacious and comfortable with a nice view. The bed was very comfortable as well. It's nice and quiet at night, relaxing. The kitchen had everything you could need. The dogs are so sweet and friendly, I really enjoyed greeting them every time I walked through the door. Layne was a gracious host, very helpful, welcoming, and hospitable. I'm trying to move to the Bay Area and she provided many helpful tips and suggestions. She was also always open to questions and making sure my stay was pleasant. I will definitely stay there again and highly suggest it to everyone.
I was there to work in downtown SF and this is a great location as it is close to BART. Coming up the hill was a bit tiring but great exercise. Parking is not a problem just be aware of street cleaning signs. The neighborhood is nice and quiet with coffee shops and restaurants about a 10 min or less walk.

  • I love Layne-!
We felt very at ease at her house.... The location is perfect, the room is comfortable and sharing the kitchen and bath was fine!
Layne is a warm, interesting person and I am glad that we stayed at her abode. She offered to make me a latte and boY! am I a lucky duck. Her barista skills are awesome. We had one minor fracas with her doggies and ours ( not her!) It made for a tense moment, but we worked around the animal issues and got things straightened out~
Laynes' knowledge of restaurants, chocolate stores, movie theaters, yoga classes, dog washing establishments, made our moving about easier!
It was wonderful to stay at Laynes' place-- I think you will like it too!

  • Lane was very friendly and her place has an amazing view. Her dogs, Miss Kitty and Huey, were unbelievably friendly. Glen Park is a little sleepy but that's what I was looking for. If you're looking to get away from downtown San Francisco and still be within a 10 minute bart ride this is the place to stay.

  • Layne is a great host who is really helpful and friendly.
Two dogs in the house are well trained and friendly as well.

The property is in a close proximity to Bart station and has a great view. The neighborhood near bart has some cafes and restaurants as well as supermarkets. This is more residential area than Mission. Very quiet, clean and safe.

You need to be a dog person to enjoy your stay here. I enjoyed my stay very much and am sure you will too.

  • Layne is very friendly, warm and bubbly and made us feel at ease. Our stay has been enjoyable. The room is really quiet with a confortable bed, a good panoramic view and the house is 15 mns from the barts train line which is an easy way to get to the center. Being in San Fransisco, expect a steep hill walk back from the station but it is part of staying in this fantastic city. Also layne gave us a lift back to the airport which was a great bonus !

  • My wife and I stayed with Layne for about a month and a half (July/August) this summer. We had a comfortable and fun stay with her. My wife had to work from home for the duration of our stay and she had no troubles whatsoever. Layne was super accommodating, she even upgraded her Internet service to facilitate the high-bandwidth thay my wife needed to work from home.
Some things I'd like to highlight are: Great Location - Walkable to BART/MUNI station (a bit on the steep side, so be aware of that). Spacious kitchen - With a nice dining area that you have access to. Great host - Layne is really fun to hang out with, and she knows the city well enough to give very informed and helpful suggestions on things to do etc. Her suggestions were a great asset as we planned our weekends.
Also, you should be comfortable around dogs to make the most of your stay. The dogs were well behaved and knew not to venture into our bedroom, we became great friends with them as well. We'd gladly stay with Layne whenever we get the chance, and recommend staying with her.

  • My stay at Layne's was just great. She is a wonderful hostess and a warm, lovely person. She mad me feel comfortable and welcome immediately. Her house is much cozier than in the pictures, and reflects the interesting life she leads. The dogs are fun and well behaved.
The house is super cute and situated on a hill with great views from all windows including the bedroom. Glenn Park village was a (very hilly) 10 minute walk, and has a choice of good restaurants, coffee shops, a market with lots of yummy prepared food and delicious desserts. Both the BART and J Church are nearby. Overall a great stay and I plan to stay there again when I am in town.

  • The 10 weeks that I lived at Layne's house was a great period and I felt as I was at my home. It was my first experience of Airbnb and everything was great. Her house is very well located near to the Bart Station. She was a wonderful, helpful, friendly and lovely host!!! I would highly recommend her house to anyone traveling to San Francisco. Thank you so much Layne for such a great hospitality and I will for sure be back!!!

I love to travel and meet new people, so this is an opportunity for me to make new friends and share my love of San Francisco. My most exciting travel adventures were bicycling trips to Cuba, Myanmar, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Sumatra, Turkey and New Zealand. I enjoyed these because I love to cycle and my style of travel is very laid back and simple. I enjoy home stays and accommodations in small local "motels"rather than large hotels. I am a foodie and love to try new restaurants, especially in the Mission and the Valencia corridor. I enjoy helping guests find places to visit, to eat, help them navigate around the city, buy tickets to events, etc. I have 2 sweet short hair medium sized dogs that aren't allowed in the guest room, but you probably need to like dogs!
