(Please read all details. Most of your questions are already answered here.)
Enjoy a sunny private bedroom with its own balcony overlooking a lovely garden. You will sleep well on the comfortable queen size bed with plenty of pillows and blankets. There is a large closet and a desk.
The large bathroom has a spa feel with a deep oval soaking tub, rain water showerhead, plenty of plush towels, and large bright vanity. It is shared with your host and sometimes with one other guest.
The house is a classic St Louis 2 story red brick row house built in the 1880s and fully remodeled inside. Free street parking is always available on my quiet, safe street. This is a gay friendly home and neighborhood.
I have one small dog who seldom barks and is friendly with adults.
I would love to hear from you. Please inquire!
You have full access to artistically decorated living, dining and kitchen areas.
There is a full size washer and dryer in the basement, available to you at no additional charge. An ironing board and iron are also available.
Breakfast is "on your own". I provide coffee, tea, juice, oatmeal, yogurt, and fruit. You have full kitchen privileges to make your own meals. Please clean up after yourself.
Interaction with Guests
I am usually home during my guest visits. I enjoy conversation about your travels, and will provide any information you need for your trip, but I won't impose myself on you.
You will also be interacting with my dog. He's little and sweet, but if you don't like dogs, please don't book a room with me. It is important that he feel safe and happy in his own home.
I occasionally rent out another smaller room to just one guest at a time. Please be friendly and get acquainted.
Walk to trendy restaurants, coffee shops and bars, the Grove, the Central West End, Forest Park, and Barnes Hospital/WashU School of Medicine. The Central West End Metrolink station (trains and buses) is less than a mile away. The closest bus stop is only a block away.
Just blocks from Interstate 64, my home is centrally located for all the best St. Louis has to offer! 1 mi to Mo Botanical Garden, 1/2 mi to Forest Park (zoo, museums, trails), 2 mi to Tower Grove Park, 3 mi to Washington University hilltop campus, 2 mi to Grand Center (Fox Theater, Powell Hall), 4.5 mi to downtown (Arch, sports stadiums, City Museum).
This is a great location for anyone visiting the heart of St Louis, whether as a tourist, or to visit Washington University or Barnes Hospital. Don't miss our world-class museums, zoo, and botanical garden! City Museum is one-of-a-kind.
My block is a quiet dead-end. If you have a car, you may park on the street without a pass or charge. Larger trucks are not a good idea because you may not find a large space and because turning around to get out will be very difficult.
I can provide directions around the city for walking, cycling, Metrolink, or driving. Bus maps are in your room. Please look over the guidebook to see just how close I am to the places you want to visit!
Other Things to Note
My little dog is very sweet and quiet around adults, but unfortunately is not good with children or other animals. No exceptions.
I have registered guests year-round. It is best to register 4-6 weeks in advance to be sure you get a room, and if you need several consecutive nights you should allow 6-8 weeks. But last-minute travelers are welcome to give it a try!
Check in is negotiable between 2pm and 8 pm. Exact check in time must be arranged with host in advance.
No loud noises between 10 pm and 8 am.
Be nice to the dog.
Clean up after yourself in all the shared areas.
Absolutely no smoking anywhere on the premises.
No illegal substances or activities are allowed.
No additional overnight guests that were not booked in advance.
Notify me immediately if any emergency arises in the home.
Respect and good communication are the keys to a successful visit. You can help me be a better host by telling me what you need.
Very nice room in a happening part of town. There were great cafe's, restaurants and bars nearby. Becky was there to greet us when we arrived and gave us some great recommendations of places to eat and check out. The room and bathroom was very clean and the bed was super comfortable. I would definitely recommend this place to others.
Becky was a wonderful host. She greeted me at the door and the room was as advertised. It's a beautiful home and the accommodation is nothing short of paradise. From the cleanliness to the balcony - it's St Louis at is most serene. Stay here!
Staying at Becky's was very welcoming and comfortable. She made my fiancé and I feel right at home when we arrived and throughout our 2-day stay. She was very accommodating to our arrival time and our departure time. Providing breakfast and sharing her delicious fresh press coffee with us was very generous. We had great conversations with her about traveling and she gave excellent recommendations for dinner. Her sweet, small, and polite pup was an added bonus to our stay! If we ever travel back to St. Louis we would stay with Becky again.
Becky was my first Airbnb hostess, although I've stayed at a lot of B and B's and know basically what to expect. She was welcoming, quite gracious, exceedingly friendly, and accommodating. Very helpful manual of nearby attractions; excellent directions to her place provided in advance. Accommodations were exceptionally clean. Went out of her way to help me with unforeseen problems I experienced while I was there. I appreciate all her efforts and would wholeheartedly recommend this site.
The listing description was more than accurate, Becky has a beautiful home, and made us feel very welcome. She was a generous host and willing to help us enjoy our short stay in St. Louis. I couldn't have asked for a better first experience with Airbnb. The neighborhood was also a great location - with several museums and activities at Forest Park, as well as various good restaurants and bars , all in walking distance from Becky's home. I would highly recommend this airbnb listing.
although my stay was so short, just one day, i felt like home. nice location, clean neat and awesome airbnb + the host, Becky and her magician houdini, were so nice, friendly and welcoming.. definitely this airbnb in top of my list..
My time at Becky's felt like a retreat within a sanctuary. The calm, nurturing and positive space helped make my stay in St. Louis a rejuvenating one. Becky is an amazing host, as well. The house is cute, clean and centrally-located. I hope to stay here again when I return to St. Louis. Thank you, Becky!
