About this listing
In Toulouse Centre, the Bachelor welcomes you with a balcony. The interior is cozy, quiet ... you'll be right at home. It is atypical with two mezzanines and lounge and a kitchen.
Since March 2016 I work in Carcassonne. I chose to prepare the Bachelor the day before arrival. By cons and I apologize, I will not be there when you arrive, but you can join the laptop. I give you the information about the key that I call you.
La Garçonnière in the centre of Toulouse --- a hundred yards from the cathedral of St Etienne --is ideal as a holiday-base for exploring ‘la Ville rose’ (so called for its warm redbrick) and the surrounding region . Yet it is also a peaceful place in which to relax; enter the building at the front and you have city bustle, but at the rear the apartment overlooks cool gardens where the sound of traffic barely penetrates. It is on the first floor of a fine 19th C. building which has spacious hall and stairways (kept scrupulously clean !) and has been well-modernized.
Although originally just two rooms, the apartment is surprisingly roomy. The rooms are large with very high ceilings, into which mezzanine-floors have been inserted to give two good bedroom spaces. The accommodation is as follows:-
Small entrance hall: cloaks
Large living-room, over which there is a double-bedroom mezzanine – under the latter there is an alcove with a good-quality sofa-bed which can make two singles or one double:
Kitchen with gas-cooker, electric oven, fridge, washing-machine, dish-washer, micro-wave, toaster, coffee-maker & good range of usual utensils – kitchen gives on to porch:
Bathroom with bath, shower, w.c. & hand-basin (note there is another separate shower & separate w.c.)
Second bedroom mezzanine over the bathroom & kitchen ---two single beds plus small work-space. Please note that access to the mezzanines by a fairly steep stair may not suit some elderly or infirm people .
Both the living-room & the kitchen lead on to the balcony which runs around two sides of the building. The balcony & porch give pleasant sitting areas (with table& chairs for dining) overlooking two gardens & pool with flowers and mature trees (NB – there is no access to the gardens but they are a pleasure to look at!) On the balcony it is possible to have sun or shade at different times of the day. For winter there is central heating throughout and a traditional fireplace (logs provided) in the living-room.
Like Paris, Toulouse enjoys a superb riverside setting and is rich in architecture of the Middle-Ages, the Renaissance and neo-classical periods. It is also rich in theatres, galleries & museums, concerts & opera , music of all kinds , and has two universities. Needless to say perhaps it abounds in pavement cafés, delightful restaurants, bars and shops ranging from the quaint to the elegant --- within a hundred yards of the flat there are three café/bars, three restaurants, two bakers and other shops. For those who love walking the Canal du Midi is two minutes away, the Capitol and the river Garonne less than ten………..and in between there are several lovely old quarters of the town to explore .
The PRICE included all services, bedding, towel, cleaning and internet acces.
By Toulouse Blagnac airport, take the airport shuttle to the metro station: Compans Caffarelli, then take the metro direction Romainville, down to the subway station: François Verdier.
The Matabiau station or follow the Canal walk to the Halle aux Grains or take the Metro station Jean Jaurès station until François Verdier.
