The Highland Club is set within 20 acres of beautifully landscaped grounds on the shores of Loch Ness. It occupies the Grade A gothic buildings of the original 1729 English fortification, Fort Augustus. 5 Star luxury in a traditional Highland town!
The space
Luxury three bedroom, two bathroom second floor apartment in a landmark grade A listed Benedictine Monastery (The Highland Club) set in 20 acres of private grounds on the shores of Loch Ness. In the heart of the Highlands, this sympathetic conversion is an ideal base for exploring all that Scotland has to offer. Whether you are searching for outdoor adventure, or simply just want to unwind, this is the place to do it.
This spacious mezzanine apartment has been fitted to the highest specification. Tastefully decorated by Scottish interior design team ANTA coupled with stylish funishings and high specification fittings promise to make your stay both memorable and relaxing. There are a plethora of original features such as the majestic cathedral window in the open plan living area. This beautiful window floods the room with light with wonderful views over the cloisters. As a guest you will have access to all The Highland Club has to offer.
There is highspeed internet and wifi within the apartment. Two TVs - 50 inch in lounge, and 32 inch in master bedroom.
PLEASE NOTE:
1. Access is via stairs (52 steps) and there is no elevator. Our property is not suitable for people with limited mobility.
2. The mezzanine bedroom with cannonball bed overlooks the main living area. It is not protected from sound or light. It has a half wall and is not suitable for young children
3. The on site amenities are subject to availability and reserved through a booking system which our agents will guide you to. The pool is limited to 10 people at any one time. During peak periods it does get booked up very quickly.
4. All rooms have UK regulation fire doors by law. They are heavy and make a noise when closing. They are also more difficult for very young children to open. But they have been installed for the safety of all guests.

Facilities included are The Boathouse Restaurant providing an idyllic setting on the shores of Loch Ness in which you can enjoy delicious, locally sourced food. The Highland Club swimming pool, sauna and steam room. Within the stunning grounds outdoor picnic tables and BBQ'S are provided for guest use; tennis court, outdoor table tennis, croquet lawn, giant chess and children’s adventure play area promise to keep everyone amused. The Monks refectory has been transformed into a Club Lounge with its oak panelled walls and stained glass windows, providing a sumptuous area to relax with friends or enjoy a game of Snooker (WIFI access available).

Other things to note
There are a couple of local grocery stores in the village. If you are arriving from Inverness it is worth stopping at the Tesco Extra Superstore to stock up on provisions. It is open 24 four hours a day, 7 days a week

Whether you’re into water sports, boating or spotting Nessie herself, the world famous Loch Ness will not disappoint. At 23 miles long, it is one of the longest and deepest lochs in Scotland. The character of the loch is undoubtedly awe-inspiring and varied given its size; so the view from the shifting banks changes dramatically as you travel through. With Inverness at the top, and Drumnadrochit to the west, the loch is connected by the surrounding A28 main road, allowing you to visit all of the key spots along the way.
For the active amongst you, in good weather, the loch is the perfect platform to take to boating activities. If youre a novice, the Highland Club will steer you in the right direction for the appropriate guidance.
