Wonderful location. So many things to see and do. Our family enjoyed walking around the Abbey. We travelled with 67yr old parents with large luggage so walking up 4 flights of stairs was challenging. Carpets were not clean and we suspect it was because shoes were allowed to be worn inside the apartment. We removed our shoes and wore socks around the apartment and noticed clean socks were dirty even on day of arrival. Everything else is great and I would still rate this stay 5 stars as the value for money and experience of staying at Abbey by Loch Ness is unbeatable.

Response from Baljit:
Dear Todd, I have investigated your complaint about dirt. Our local agents confirmed some urgent works were carried out after the cleaners had been and gone. Please accept my sincere apologies for this. Our apartment is normally spotless. In this very busy season, we only had a small window of opportunity to carry out the work. The listing does warn that the apartment is not suitable for people of limited mobility and that it's a walk up with no lift. We have now included this information at the top of the listing details and in the 'Guests must acknowledge' section before they book, so it's clearer. With regards to the doors, we have to adhere to strict safety regulations hence the need for self closing fire doors that cannot be wedged open. We have installed some kind of device that reduces the noise and speed at which they close and noise but unfortunately beyond that, we cannot do much more. Thank you for your constructive review. We constantly strive to enhance the guest experience so are always eager to learn where we can make further improvements. We would love the see you again:)

Fort Augustus is a charming town within short driving distance to both Inverness and Isle of Skye. We used this condo as a home base and took day trips to areas around the Highlands. The condo is very nicely upgraded and the whole building is beautiful. Bajit was also a great host, giving us several recommendations for the area that ended up being a big hit with out group.

Was really nice to stay here. The place is located on the grounds of the highland club at the bottom of Loch Ness. And it is great for touring round the highlands and using it as a base. The place itself is well equipped and has nice high ceilings and abbey features. Would stay again!

There is nothing I look forward to more than my next international adventure. Sadly as a mother of young twins, such trips are not as frequent as they once were!

Airbnb gives us the opportunity to not just visit a new land, but to really experience it from a more interesting perspective, living amongst locals. We are interested in the unusual and unconventional. In return, we offer our unique vacation home in the last wilderness of Europe - the Highlands of Scotland. Housed within an ancient Fort, our stunning abode sits right on the banks of Loch Ness
