Interaction with Guests
I meet you at the door when you arrive and then I become invisible for the rest of your stay, keeping in touch via text or phone even though I am in the adjoining house. I am at your service during the entire length of your stay. Each morning I ask you to text when you leave so I can freshen the room and remove used towels, clear the bistro table, etc.
So why are you stifling in that city apartment this weekend???
The Loft is located in a quiet residential neighborhood. This is a great place for an early morning walk or jog without having to worry about highway traffic. As a matter of fact you are probably going to meet a few of our resident deer around sunrise.
Cabs are available with advance notice.
Other Things to Note

Julia's apartment exceeds our expectation in every aspects. We had very good communication before we arrive. We arrived late at night and Julia waited for us until we found the house. The house was very clean, warm, comfortable, making us feel like staying us. Julia was very kind and hospitality, always trying to meet our request. The home make breakfast was best in class. If you has plan to Woodbury outlet, I strongly recommend you stay 1-2 nights at Julia's house. The experience was superior.
Julia's loft was perfect for what my boyfriend and I were looking for on Valentine's Day. She even provided champagne on our arrival! The fresh baked good were unbelievable, especially after the long drive from the city. She was very accommodating and helped with any issues we came across (like the car getting stuck due to ice). Bonus: the whirlpool tub!!
Julia was a great host and the private loft was even better than we thought. She answered all of my questions promptly, and we were made to feel very welcome upon arrival. Julia helped my girlfriend and I welcome in the New Year with complementary champagne that was waiting for us when we arrived. The jacuzzi was awesome! Julia clearly cares about providing the best experience for her guests, and a clean and inviting room to stay in, and a great breakfast on top of that. We would definitely come back for another private getaway. Thank you!!
This was the second time I stayed with Julia and this time it was a girls' trip away from the city. Like the first one, it was perfect!
Julia kept in constant communication as needed and picked us up from the train station and drove us to our car rental place.
We had planned a night in and were greeted with baked goodies and DVD availability (to play all those John Hughes films!) at our request.
Upon leaving, she drove us to drop off our rental car and then to Beacon itself giving us complimentary copies of her book!
Another perfect stay and we will definitely be returning in the Spring!
Julia was the perfect host for a great football weekend at West Point. The Loft is only 15 minutes from the gateand extremely east to find...couldn't have a better location. Friday arrival was easy as Julia contacted us early on and made sure we had directions. She met us at the door, welcomed us, gave us recommendations for dinner, and made arrangements for our breakfast the next morning. When we returned from dinner, realizing the game forecast looked like rain, she left us ponchos, umbrella and a blanket to go with the stadium pillow she made for us! The loft itself is IMMACULATE and Julia has thought of everything you need to be comfortable. Did I mention the fresh-baked homemade treats she left both days? My wife swears I ate them all, but I felt like I was sharing. Sunday morning breakfast (french toast, bacon and strawberries) came exactly at the time we asked for it and it was wonderful. The private entrance to the loft affords all the privacy you could ask for...but at the same time you know that Julia is available (only a text away) in case you need her. Absolutely pleased with our decision to stay here for the weekend.
I booked the loft for myself and my mom who was visiting me from out of town. We felt very welcome and comfortable here. Julia was very helpful and made us feel very welcome! She picked us up from the train station and was willing to take us anywhere we wanted to go. We hiked both Saturday and Sunday and she was happy to take us to the trails and pick us up at the end of the hikes. The loft had everything you could need. It was very clean, quiet and comfortable. The breakfast in the morning was amazing and it was the boost we needed for our long hike that day. I will definitely be booking the loft again before the end of the season to take advantage of the hikes and watch the leaves change and I will definitely recommend it to others. It was such a fantastic little getaway!!!! Thank you for the wonderful experience!
Julia was magnificent from initial correspondence up until the moment she dropped us off at the train station (that's right, she picked up/dropped off!).
My husband and I celebrated our 1 year wedding anniversary at The Loft and it was wonderful. Her special touches with goodies, balloons, and suggestions/advice for what to do in the area made it all the more lovely.
We wanted to escape reality and celebrate our first year of marriage in a romantic and memorable way. Julia surpassed our expectation of just that and gave us an anniversary we will remember forever.
Thank you Julia so much for all your hospitality and your genuine warm/caring nature. We look forward to referring many friends/colleagues to The Loft!
I am an author and teacher. My goal at The Loft is to make you feel comfortable and welcomed and to provide the privacy and security you should expect when you are away from home. I love where I live and The Loft location lets you enjoy total peace and privacy as well as the Hudson Valley's cultural scene like museums and galleries and outdoor activities like hiking the multi-level scenic trails on Storm King Mountain, all while being only minutes from fantastic shopping and restaurants. Whether or not you come with an agenda, I will always keep you up to date on local happenings. Of course, your breakfast will adhere to any dietary needs.
As a writer, with umpteen novels on my computer, I love meeting new people. You expand my world, and writing keeps me very close to home. I'm friendly and outgoing, and I love to host guests looking for an adventure. We have so many places nearby, from kayaking the Hudson River to hiking Storm King Mountain. And the scenery? I'm a seasonal person, I need the four seasons to garden, walk, star-gaze and just feed my mind. I appreciate all that surrounds me. Four times a year I am recharged and mother earth is my energizer.
