"Julia, Thank you so much in enhancing our stay. The room, the location are great yet all the little accessories make it very cozy and comfortable. Hopefully, when we come back, we will be welcomed again." Janet and Rich V.
Park directly in front of the double door garage and enter the Loft door to your left. Your own key opens your main entry door and your Loft door upstairs.
I meet you at the door when you arrive and then I become invisible for the rest of your stay, keeping in touch via text or phone even though I am in the adjoining house. I am at your service during the entire length of your stay. Each morning I ask you to text when you leave so I can freshen the room and remove used towels, clear the bistro table, etc.
So why are you stifling in that city apartment this weekend???
The Loft is located in a quiet residential neighborhood. This is a great place for an early morning walk or jog without having to worry about highway traffic. As a matter of fact you are probably going to meet a few of our resident deer around sunrise.
Cabs are available with advance notice.
Julia loves the hospitality business and the proof is in the wonderful reviews her guests leave for her. She is outgoing and loves meeting new people. Julia tries to see to all her guest's needs and helps them plan their activities so they make the most of their precious time here.

Julia was a flawless hostess! She was conscientious without being the least bit nosy, and so flexible about our early arrival time. The room itself was a dream--from the private jacuzzi, to the sunny balcony, to the delicious breakfasts each morning. She even set us up with all the s'mores fixings we could need, as well as preparing the fire pit for us. I cannot recommend her charming home enough!
We had a short stay at Julia's loft. The room is beautiful and breakfast deliciously. Most importantly, Julia's a great host. She stayed up until we arrived about 3 hours behind schedule, and also prepared different breakfast when she learned that my daughter has a nut allergy. The stay was too short! We'll be back again shortly!
Julia did a great job of making me feel welcome and was exceedingly flexible, making my trip, which had some unusual requirements, a success. I was biking from Manhattan up to a party at the Storm King Art Center (1.5 miles away) and since the party was at night, I would need a lift to and from the Center. Also, on Sunday, I wanted to start my ride back to Manhattan from the other side of the mountain about 7 miles away because the shoulder on 9W between New Windsor and West Point was a little too narrow for bikes. And Julia was very nice in giving me a lift there too even though I didn't think initially that I would need that help. The studio and bathroom are huge and the bed was comfortable and the house is at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac.
Julia is absolutely amazing. I've never encountered such a lovely and thoughtful host!
This was our second time at Julia's loft in a month. Once isn't enough! It is so peaceful and relaxing. You have your own entrance and exit and easy place to park.
The space itself is extremely comfortable and spacious. The balcony is gorgeous, the kitchenette is great--wonderful to have a fridge! And the bathroom is what most people's bedrooms are in the city.
If you wanted, you'd hardly have to leave. There is coffee in the kitchen and the breakfast Julia makes is to die for.
Julia remembered us and even had balloons for Ben's bday!
You won't regret it!
Julia is the greatest host we've ever met! The Loft is definitely an awesome getaway from city.
Julia was INCREDIBLE and accommodating to us. All the way down to our late arrival from NYC.
We attended a wedding complete with a Jazz singer, DJ and sound system... right next door to her home... And she was so gracious, provided us a wonderful light breakfast on Saturday, and a complete additional (for a small fee) large breakfast for us on Sunday to help us get going. Everything was homemade down to the whipped cream with our strawberries and homemade tarts... Yes, Julia, we brought them home!!
She turned down our bedding for us and really provided a wonderful retreat. I made ample use of the balcony!
Last minute, one of my best friends cancel her room and was going to head back to NYC after the wedding. For a nominal fee, we were able to include our friend on the second night. Julia is very sweet and as you can see very accommodating.
She made our friends wedding that much more special! Thanks, Julia
Julia is a natural host - huge thanks for taking care of us! There were lots of little perks that made our stay fabulous and super comfortable. Love the little deck, the spacious room and you even have a little fridge! Thanks Julia! You rock!
About the Host, Julia
I am an author and teacher. My goal at The Loft is to make you feel comfortable and welcomed and to provide the privacy and security you should expect when you are away from home. I love where I live and The Loft location lets you enjoy total peace and privacy as well as the Hudson Valley's cultural scene like museums and galleries and outdoor activities like hiking the multi-level scenic trails on Storm King Mountain, all while being only minutes from fantastic shopping and restaurants. Whether or not you come with an agenda, I will always keep you up to date on local happenings. Of course, your breakfast will adhere to any dietary needs.
As a writer, with umpteen novels on my computer, I love meeting new people. You expand my world, and writing keeps me very close to home. I'm friendly and outgoing, and I love to host guests looking for an adventure. We have so many places nearby, from kayaking the Hudson River to hiking Storm King Mountain. And the scenery? I'm a seasonal person, I need the four seasons to garden, walk, star-gaze and just feed my mind. I appreciate all that surrounds me. Four times a year I am recharged and mother earth is my energizer.
