We stayed in the house for six days with a group of five colleagues. We found the house very charming, well kept and it had absolutely everything we needed (we used three private sleeping options and one shared/twin). The surroundings are beautiful with a very nice park just behind the house. We would definitely recommend it for people who want to stay on walking distance from the city center but also appreciate the sound of birdsong in the morning :)
Great location close to River Thames and walking to pub. Good bus route into town or walking distance. House is warm and welcoming. Pleasant garden and quiet street.
Comfortable cosy house in good location. Large rustic playground a short distance away ideal for our kids. Easy access to the city by bus or a 20-25 minute walk. Cowley Road a 15 minute walk away. Kay a very supportive but not intrusive host. The house is most suited for families with school aged children and above, or couples. Having said that we coped fine with 3 pre-schoolers although you may wish to bring stair guards for the steep staircase. All in all we had a good 7 week stay and would be happy to recommend this house to anyone seeking a central Oxford location.
We have felt immediately at home in the apartment by Kay. Especially the large and new kitchen with great views in the garden did it to us. Unfortunately, we could not use the terrace because of the weather. Also the sleeping-rooms offered everything we needed. The proximity to the city of Oxford made the stay perfect. We can only recommend therefore this apartment.
Our 8-day stay at 55 Bedford St. was wonderful! The house was lovely--very cheery and clean. The "master" bedroom had a really comfortable bed. The kitchen was great--it was thoroughly furnished and really easy to use. We appreciated that Kay had left some coffee and tea for us at the beginning of our stay. I spent many hours working (at my laptop) at the kitchen table, right next to a very large window that let in lots of light and looked out on a pretty, green yard. My husband worked in the living room, where he was content to spread out his things and work for hours on end. We went into town every day, either walking or taking the bus; the house is in a great location--it was very easy to figure out places to go. Kay was most friendly and helpful. In short, we loved our stay and would highly recommend it to anyone considering staying in Oxford.
We love Kay's house. The house is very good placed in a very calm area. The house is as the pictures that are shown in the web. It was very clean and with all the necessary equipments. The host (Kay) was very attentive. It was the ideal hoese for our stay.
Kay's house was comfortable and welcoming; perfect for our week long stay. The bedrooms were a good size and the kitchen was extremely well appointed. Located near the river, as well as a fantastic children's playground, it took an easy 30 minute walk into the heart of Oxford. If you're game, hire bikes to make the trip even quicker! Kay was very helpful at every point of our trip. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would recommend it.
We spent one week in Oxford and we had a great time there. Kay’s house is beautiful, placed in a green residential area 20 - 25 minutes by walk from the old city center (or 6-7min. by bus). The apartment is clean, bright, perfectly furnished. Our doughter enjoyed the garden and the park playground (2 minutes by walk). Kay is a great host!
Kay was very friendly and had explained us all about the things
in her house. The house was well equipped, very quiet, clean etc.,
exactly that what we expected. The Themse river was near by,
with an excellent way for walking and jogging.
