Via Appia Antica was the first and most important road built from Rome (also called Regina Viarum) at the end of the 4th century BC in order to rapidly connect Rome and Capua.
The road was built in the year 312: the year in which Appius Claudius, after whom the road was named, was censor of Rome. Its plan was surprisingly "modern": it set aside the smaller town centers (provided with special junctions) and headed straight to the destination.

This Airbnb is very nice, good area, local shops, pharmacy, eating places, supper market, bus stops etc etc. Very good swimming spa close by. Bus, Metro into centre of Rome 40mins not a problem when you have the benefit of being with the Italian's not the tourists.
What can I say about Cate and her family, very nice people. Cate arranged taxi pick up and drop off at the airport, a great help and much appreciated. Cate was working in Rome and we did not have the opportunity to meet her, but she was there for us by text, email or by phone, they live on the next floor down. Her husband and son were very helpful with local information etc.
The apartment is lovely, very well kept, clean, well stocked with all you need, very private and a bonus of a small roof terrace for breakfast and sunset drinks. Big bonus was the AirCon which enabled us to have good nights sleep.
All in all @ the price Cate is charging excellent value. Big YES we would book with Cate again.
Thank you for a great Roma city break with the Romans.

The apartment is awesome! Everything was clean and cate was a very nice host! Would absolutely book it again!
Cates Husband welcomed us and was very helpful in showing us the apartment and explaining everything to us! The apartment is simply beautiful and everything you could need was provided! It is a little far from the city center, it took us about 40 minutes to reach rome by bus and metro. Leaving later at night is possible either by nightbus, there is one every hour or you can take a Taxi (to the center about 25-30 Euros).
Cate is a fantastic host. She made us feel at home right from the start. Gave us a tour of the appartment, which is excellent btw. A very nice place for ourselves with a rooftop terrace, marvellous. One notices right away that Cate is a professional in the hotel business.
Cate even gave us a lift to the Vatican early in the morning.
We recommend this appartment by all means.
Caty's space was perfect! The apartment was simply beautiful. It is a bit of a commute to the center city, but the public transportation is great, so it is not a problem. Caty was an excellent host - she lives in the building, so if you have any inquiries, you can speak to hear directly. I would definitely recommend it - it is wonderful.
Caty's place is absolutely spacious, impeccably clean and well equipped. Being out of the centre, there are tasty restaurants and shopping possibilities around the corner. The balcony invites you to take a rest after the bustle of the city. Caty and Pasquale were most helpful, reliable and friendly at any time. Thanks for another great airbnb experience!
