Interaction with Guests
The condo complex houses many folks from all over the U.S., Canada, Europe and other countries around the world, a very international bunch !!!
The condo was not quite as shown in the photos, which were from when the condo was new. The place was clean but run down. There was mold in the tub and the unit smelled of mold and sewer. We were only able to use one of the bedrooms due to the smell. There are no garbage disposals, so the complex has cockroaches. They happened to spray the day we were there, so cockroaches came into the unit. The towels and bedding were also very dingy. Just overall, run down and not as nice as the pictures show.
The good things are that the AC and the washer and dryer work well and it is close to town although on a nasty dirt road.
Michelle is very responsive and communicative. Unfortunately, the place was a little run down for our taste.
This review does not reflect the actual/current state of my condo/property in any way. I took possession of the new construction/condo not quite 7 years ago. The photos referred by the dissatisfied guest (s) are regarding the exterior new paint of some of the buildings in the 62 unit complex, when completed it will be updated. The community's HOA does a great job updating and keeping it fresh.
There is no mold but rather hard water residue built-up in and around the tub and the smell that may had occurred from time to time WAS a small issue with a ventilation grill in the building which was entirely out of my hands, it was addressed and it has been resolved.
The spraying of critters is something done everywhere in the tropics, it helps keeping them away and if one or two happens to find their way in to the unit, it rarely ever happens as the place is very well kept (CLEAN).
I have stacks of brand new towels as well as bedding in the owners locker and they get replaced every so often when needed...had the past guest (s) bothered to even bring it to the attention of my property managers (who are wonderful), it would have been addressed right away.
My place is by no means run down ! My reviews speak for themselves and some folks can never be pleased, expecting Five Star like accommodation but not wanting to pay for it.
I continue to thrive for excellence in guests satisfaction and I say"Welcome" !
This is a nice apartment. The owner, Michelle, made us feel welcome. We didn't have any trouble getting the keys from the property managers, who kindly drove with us to the apartment to make sure we found it it ok. The location is ok - it's a 10-15 minutes walk from the beach.
We had a few small hiccups - there was a smell in one of the bedrooms (out of the owner's control, a general building issue) but we used the other bedroom so it didn't disturb our stay. We also had some ants in the kitchen, which is common in the area, but the property managers came by quickly and resolved the issue. Michelle was quick, kind, and helpful when answering our emails.
Overall we really enjoyed our stay. It was great to have our own place rather than a hotel room, especially as we like to cook. There is a security guard out front which made us feel safe, and a pool in the complex that we used a couple times to cool off.
Dear Kim & Abe,
It was a pleasure having you stay at my condo. My property managers did enjoy meeting you both and found you to be a very sweet couple.
Thank you for your kindness in understanding that the smell coming from the 2nd bedroom has been addressed with the HOA complex which as you mentioned has been totally out of my control due to a building/complex issue.
Thank you also for understanding about a few ants who found their way into the unit, it happens, it is after all Central America, tropical and rain forest.
SO glad you both enjoyed your stay and welcome back anytime !
Sincerely, Michelle R.
The owner followed up before our arrival to make sure we were on track with getting in and such. When we arrived we had a minor miscommunication with the property manager but we worked it out after a short time. The unit was well situated- close to town and beaches but not in the fray of things. We appreciated being able to use the cooler on site. The pool was great to cool off in when we arrived (as it was very warm on Christmas day!) but we mostly spent our time at beaches in and around Tamarindo. The air conditioning works great, the unit is walking distance to the downtown area with tons of restaurants and we enjoyed having a kitchen to enjoy breakfast each morning. The laundry was very helpful as well!
Such a great location and off the beaten path for a great nights sleep. Easy 5 minute (or less) walk into town or the beach. I felt really safe in this complex. The condo is dark but probably helps keep the place cool. I definitely recommend this to any pair or group who need a great place to lay there heads after being out to explore all day.
I am originally from Montreal ,Canada. I currently reside in Scottsdale Arizona. We purchased the condo in beautiful Playa Tamarindo to use for our personal vacation (Joe & I) and occasionally rent it out. Come out and enjoy our beach condo built in 2010. I speak English and French. Any questions, please do not hesitate !!!
